Abstract

Abstract

The exploitation of women within religious institutions is driven by patriarchy and the manipulation of religion, resulting in sexual violence, discrimination, and systemic gender injustice. This study discusses the film Maharaj as a medium that reveals the exploitation of women and critiques patriarchal religious institutions. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with semiotic analysis. Data collection was carried out through observation and documentation. Triangulation of techniques and time was used to ensure data validity. Research findings show that the film Maharaj reveals the exploitation of women in religious institutions through visual symbolism, body gestures, and rituals such as Charan Seva, which reflect patriarchal and spiritual domination legitimized by culture. The representation of submissive and silent women becomes a marker of systemic oppression. A cultural feminist approach is used to highlight the courage of women to resist this structure. The spiral of silence theory explains the victims’ silence as a result of social and religious stigma. Karsandas Mulji appears as a symbol of resistance, opening space for discourse through media. This film acts as a form of social criticism that calls for critical awareness, justice, and gender equality. Conclusion: The film highlights the exploitation of women in religion and presents resistance as a form of social critique for gender equality.

Abstract

This quantitative study investigates the influence of critical thinking skills, self-efficacy, digital literacy, and internship experience on work readiness among vocational high school students. This research is motivated by the persistently high unemployment rates among vocational graduates in Indonesia, which reflect a gap between the skills acquired in school and those demanded by the job market. of the study involved 143 twelfth-grade students from SMK Negeri 2 Sungai Penuh and employed an explanatory quantitative approach. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) using SmartPLS 3.0. The findings confirmed that the measurement model satisfied the required criteria for reliability, convergent validity, and discriminant validity. The structural model testing indicated that critical thinking skills, self-efficacy, and internship experience significantly and positively influenced work readiness, while digital literacy did not demonstrate significant effect. Furthermore, self-efficacy was found to partially mediate the correlation between critical thinking and internship experience with work readiness, although the effect sizes of these mediations were relatively small. These results emphasize the importance of enhancing critical thinking, building self-efficacy, and improving the quality of internship programs in the industry to increase vocational graduates' employability. The study highlights that fostering these factors in vocational education can better prepare students for the workforce. Future research is recommended to explore additional external factors that may influence work readiness, such as socio-economic status, personal motivation, or family background, and to broaden the sample size to improve the generalizability of the findings to a larger population.    Keywords: critical thinking skills, self-efficacy, digital literacy, industrial internship, students' work readiness.

Abstract

The internet is one of the impacts of modern technological development that has the capacity to transform the manner in which marketing communication is conducted from face-to-face (conventional) to screen-to-face (digital marketing). The objective of this research is to examine the customer base of Caribbe Caffe. The data collection method employed in this study utilizes the communication method. Therefore, an online questionnaire was disseminated via Google Forms to a sample of 100 respondents who had previously used or purchased products at Caribbe Cafe. The procedure employed for model testing and data processing utilizes a structural equation model with SmartPLS 3.0 and SPSS 25. The resulting output indicates that customer experience exerts a positive and significant influence on customer satisfaction. Furthermore, customer experience demonstrates a positive and insignificant effect on customer loyalty. Additionally, customer satisfaction exhibits a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty. Finally, customer experience displays a positive and significant effect on customer loyalty, albeit indirectly through customer satisfaction. The findings of this study indicate that three of the four hypotheses are substantiated by substantial positive evidence, namely, customer experience and its impact on customer satisfaction, customer experience and its impact on customer loyalty, and customer experience and its impact on customer loyalty through customer satisfaction. However, the fourth hypothesis, which pertains to the direct relationship between customer experience and customer loyalty, is rejected, and the results of the analysis are inconsequential.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the extent to which TikTok content from the food vlogger @KulinerKoko influences foodie behavior among university students in Medan. The increasing trend of food vlogging on social media has made food vloggers the primary reference for culinary recommendations, which impacts the preferences and consumption habits of the younger generation, especially university students. The research was conducted using a quantitative approach through a survey of 96 respondents, selected using Lemeshow’s formula. The instrument used underwent validity and reliability testing, indicating that all items were appropriate and consistent (r-count r-table; Cronbach’s Alpha 0.8). Data analysis was carried out using normality, linearity tests, and simple linear regression with the help of SPSS version 20. The findings show a positive and significant influence of @KulinerKoko’s content on the foodie behavior of students, as indicated by a significance value of 0.000 ( 0.05) and a regression coefficient of 0.583. The R Square value of 0.249 indicates that 24.9% of the variation in foodie behavior can be explained by the displayed content, while the remaining variation is influenced by other factors. The content, including food reviews, attractive visuals, and communicative delivery, has proven to encourage students to try new foods, visit recommended places, and share their experiences on social media.
