Abstract

Introduction: Class II malocclusion is a prevalent orthodontic condition in children that can cause both functional and esthetic challenges if not addressed early. The early mixed dentition period offers a critical window for interceptive treatment. Eruption guidance appliances (EGAs) are removable functional devices designed to direct tooth eruption and potentially stimulate favorable skeletal growth. This scoping review aims to map existing evidence on the use of EGAs in treating Class II malocclusion during early mixed dentition. Methods: Following the PRISMA-ScR framework, a comprehensive literature search was conducted in PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and ProQuest up to July 2025. Studies were selected based on inclusion criteria involving children aged 6–9 years with Class II malocclusion treated using EGAs, with reported skeletal and/or dentoalveolar outcomes. Data were extracted on study design, population, intervention protocols, outcomes, and conclusions. Results: Five eligible studies were included, comprising randomized controlled trials, cohort studies, and case report. Most reported significant dentoalveolar improvements such as reduced overjet, overbite, and molar relationship correction. Skeletal changes were modest but consistent, notably in mandibular advancement and ANB angle reduction. Discussion: EGAs demonstrated favorable outcomes by enhancing dental development and moderately influencing skeletal growth. However, study heterogeneity, limited sample sizes, and short follow-up durations were common limitations. Conclusion: EGAs are promising interceptive tools for early Class II correction, offering non-invasive benefits in guiding eruption and promoting mild skeletal adaptation. Further well-designed longitudinal trials are needed to confirm long-term effectiveness and establish clinical protocols.

Abstract

Introduction: family  is  the  factor  that  influences  the  growth  of  children  in  a family.  Stunting  is  a  condition  that  must  be  of  special  concern  because  it  can resistor the physical development and mental of children. The family's role and function  in  increasing  family  resilience  is  very  needed  in  the  compliance nutritional status of children under five. Objectives: The aim of this study was to see  the  relationship  between  family  resilience  and  the  incidence  of  stunting  in children. Methods: This study used a literature review method, and the literature search  procedure  was  conducted  using  databases  such  as  PubMed  and  Google Scholar.  Keywords included "family resilience," "family role," "family function," "stunting,"  "malnutrition," and  "food  security." Inclusion criteria  covered  peer- reviewed  quantitative  studies  (cross-sectional,  case-control,  cohort)  published between 2016–2021 in English or Indonesian, with full-text availability. Exclusion criteria  included  non-full-text  articles,  narrative  reviews,  case  reports,  and unrelated topics. Results: Results 8 journals sorted by research topic. 2 journals discuss the role of family and family support on nutritional status related to stunting and 6  journals  discuss  food  security  related  to  stunting.  The  findings  indicate  that multiple  aspects  of  family  resilience,  including  family  roles,  food  security, parenting,  and  dietary  diversity,  play  a  crucial  role  in  preventing  stunting. Conclusions: From this study it was concluded that there was a relationship between family resilience with stunting in children.

Abstract

Graduates of Vocational High Schools (SMK) play a crucial role in fulfilling the workforce requirements of the industrial sector. This condition represents a strategic opportunity for SMK to provide students with technical skills and moral fortitude, preparing them to become competent employees. This study seeks to assess the application of Total Quality Management (TQM) in enhancing the quality of graduates, particularly within the Motorcycle Engineering and Business Study Programme at a vocational school in Bandung. The study concentrates on the strategy for implementing Total Quality Management (TQM), the evaluation procedures for TQM, the factors that facilitate or impede TQM implementation, and the ways to address these challenges. This study employs a qualitative methodology utilizing a case study approach, with data gathering conducted via in-depth interviews, direct observation, and pertinent document analysis. The study's findings suggest that the Total Quality Management implementation strategy commences with a comprehensive understanding of the organization's vision and mission, which guide its objectives. This is reinforced by human resource development, the provision of sufficient facilities and infrastructure, the enhancement of a curriculum aligned with industry requirements, the cultivation of positive attitudes, and the establishment of a supportive learning environment. The processes for evaluating TQM involve establishing a collective commitment to enforce discipline, cultivating accountability, and sustaining concentration on attaining primary objectives. Factors that facilitate TQM implementation include skilled human resources, comprehensive facilities, a flexible curriculum, and a conducive learning environment. Concurrently, impediments consist of restricted human resources, inadequate facilities, and a deficiency in comprehensive comprehension of the TQM concept among all stakeholders within the school. The adopted method to address these challenges is to align all organizational components, including leaders, educators, and students, with the school's vision and goal, fostering a robust quality culture within the educational environment. This study concludes that a robust integration of human resources, facilities, curriculum, and an effective learning environment can attain the caliber of vocational high school graduates. Consequently, vocational high school graduates possess standardized abilities that align with the requirements and expectations of the business and industrial sectors (DUDI), rendering them a workforce prepared to participate effectively.
