Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of adding Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) to the size of silver nanoparticle synthesized using bioreductor soursop leaf extract (Annona muricata L.). Silver nanoparticle made through method bioreduction, bioreductor solution was mixed with AgNO3 precursor, without addition of PVA and with the addition of PVA. That the variant of concentrations is 1%; 1.5%; 2%; and 2.5%. Based on the analysis of functional groups of soursop leaf extract using a spectrophotometer FT-IR (Fourier Transform Infrared), showed absorption at wave number 3443 cm-1 which indicate a -OH group. The process of formation of silver nanoparticles seen by UV-Vis absorption. The measurement results shows that the absorbance value increased with increasing contact time. The maximum absorbance measurement result of the samples synthesized each concentration showed λmax 503.0; 463.1; 436.0; 476.1; 503.1 nm for two days with various concentrations without PVA, 1%, 1.5%, 2%, and 2.5%. The size of silver nanoparticle were determined using XRD (X-Ray Diffraction), the average size distribution of silver nanoparticle without the addition of PVA is 30.80- 50.25 nm and the smallest size range is 9.90-10.20 nm silver nanoparticle with addition PVA 1.5%. Based on research that has been done, it can concluded that addition of PVA have the effect to the size of silver nanoparticle. The stabilizer acts to control the size of silver nanoparticle.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the metal oxide content of natural zeolite before being activated and after being activated. The activator used was hydrochloric acid6 M. Analysis of metal oxide content was carried out using the X-Ray Fluoresence (XRF) instrument. The results showed that there was a decrease in impurity levels after the zeolite was activated by acid. The content of Al2O3; SiO2; K2O and CaObefore activation were 2.15%; 86.34%; 4.32%; and 2.54% respectively, while after activation were 2.11%; 86.40%; 4.56%; and 2.78%respectively. The content of other metal oxides (impurity) generally decreases in levels after the zeolite is activated.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using Liveworksheets media in the discovery learning model on HOTS (High Order Thinking Skills) students of class IX B.I 2 SMP Negeri 6 Makassar (Science Subjects Inheriting Traits). The sample of this research is class IX B.I 2 which consists of 31 students. Learning activities were carried out for 5 meetings consisting of 1 pretest meeting, 3 learning process meetings and 1 posttest meeting. Data were collected using the HOTS test, and the learning implementation observation sheet. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistics. The results achieved after learning using Liveworksheets media in the discovery learning model of HOTS, are the individual mastery levels of the pretest and posttest students, namely 0% and 90.32%, and the average gain value is normalized for learning outcomes. Is 0.68 which is in the medium category. Based on these data, it can be concluded that the Liveworksheets media in the discovery learning model of HOTS is effective against HOTS students of class IX B.I 2 SMP Negeri 6 Makassar in the science subject matter of inheritance.

Abstract

This work investigated the use of acid treatment on the characteristics of zeolite mineral. The effects of treating zeolite with various acid solutions hydrochloric acid (HCl) and sulfuric acid (H2SO4) were measured using x-ray fluorescence (XRF), x-ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscope (SEM). The results showed an increase in the percentage of SiO2 and Al2O3 after zeolite activation, and also a decrease in the amount of impurities. The crystalline phase of the zeolite was carried out using XRD analysis, indicating the type of zeolite used is modernite. The SiO2 phase in the sample is quartz, and the Al2O3 phase is corundum. The average crystal size decreased after activation, from 14.23 nm to 6.85 nm for HCl and 5.42 nm for H2SO4. Furthermore, the surface morphology of all zeolite samples has a form of irregular spherical surface, and the surface size of the particles after activation shows a smaller particle shape. The results of this study are expected to become recommendations for further research related to natural zeolite pretreatment as a catalyst support.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the adsorption kinetic model of Cd(II) from aqueous solution using Surfactant Modified Activated Carbon-Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SMAC-SLS). This study began by varying pH, contact time, and adsorbate concentration. The concentration of Cd(II) was measured using a spectrophotometric method. The results of the analysis showed that the optimum pH occurred at pH 5 with an adsorption percentage of 84.58±1.44% and the optimum contact time at 100 minutes with an adsorption percentage of 88.75±1.5%. Furthermore, in the variation of adsorbate concentration, the adsorption percentage decreased with increasing adsorbate concentration. The adsorption kinetics followed a pseudo second order with an R2 value of 0.9945 with an adsorption capacity of 8.89 mg/g. Thus, the use of SMAC-SLS as a future adsorbent for Cd(II) is highly recommended.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Gimkit learning media in discovery learningmodel on the conceptual understanding of class XI students of SMA Negeri 9Makassar on material of solubility and solubility product in 2023/2024 using quasiexperimental and posttest only control group design. Population includes all class XIstudents with simple random sampling. XI Kimia 1 (24 students) as experimentalgroup, while XI Kimia 3 (35 students) as control group. Independent variables useGimkit in discovery learning and discovery learning model without Gimkit, whiledependent variable is conceptual understanding as measured through cognitivelearning outcomes. Instrument uses a learning outcome test. The results of descriptiveanalysis that average learning outcomes of experimental group are 82.87 higher thancontrol group 78.7. Inferential analysis using Mann-Whitney Test shows Zcount> Ztable(2.00> 1.64), meaning that Gimkit in discovery learning affects students' conceptualunderstanding.
