Abstract

This action research was conducted to highlight how far the improvement of students’ reading comprehension skill after being treated by implementing QAR strategy and to find out the advantages when QAR is implemented in teaching reading comprehension. The research was organized at SMA Negeri 1 Rangkasbitung, Lebak - Banten. The subject of the research was the eleventh grade students, class IPS3. The design of it was an action research by covering three cycles, and every cycle consists of five meetings. Planning, acting, observing, and reflecting were implemented in every cycle to get a clear data. The research applied two sorts of data collecting: qualitative and quantitative data. Observation, recording, and interview were conducted to obtain qualitative data, while the quantitative data was gained through test. The research finding reflected that implementing Question-Answer Relationship (QAR) Strategy can help students in comprehending the text while answering the questions. The students were able to categorize the questions as well to avoid spending too much time while finding the answer. The implementation of QAR Strategy in teaching-learning process was getting better cycle to cycle, the students were energetic, active, enthusiastic, and felt much more confident to take a part in reading learning activity eventually. It showed that teacher’s teaching strategy had positive impact to students’ reading comprehension, and could arouse students’ motivation and participation as well to learn which greatly influenced their reading comprehension skill. It is helpful for teacher as a framework for directing questioning activities and comprehension instruction in pre-, while-, and post-reading. Implementing QAR in reading comprehension can ensure that it does not only focus on lower-level skills and question but in high level as well and it can motivate students to think critically and creatively.  Considering QAR is helpful and beneficial for both teacher and students, the institution may implement QAR for any grades and school subjects in order to make students familiar with higher-level question. Therefore, it will be no longer difficult to comprehend the text for students who have been treated by implementing QAR.

Abstract

Abstract

This research is about the students’ attitude toward the implementation of role-playing activities in English for business class of Management Department. English for Business is a compulsory subject for Management Department at Bina Bangsa University. The aim of this research was to describe students' attitudes towards the implementation of role-playing activities in the classroom. Role-playing activities is a very effective and powerful technique that can help students enhance their creativity and ability at speaking, it can create a favorable learning environment as well, and classes became more interactive and student-oriented.  40 students of the management study program who took English for Business subject took a part in this research. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews and observations which were then analyzed and tabulated. The results of this study showed that 80% of students had a positive attitude towards role playing activities during learning process. Recognizing their role in certain situations based on the topics studied in the class and playing the role made them easier to practice speaking English and enhance their English ability. Students were enthusiastic as well to learn English because it was fun for them. students are contented with their performance in role-playing activities

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine students' views on the Utilization of KineMaster Applications in Implementing Picture Describing Technique of English for Tourism. The method used is the descriptive verification method with ex post facto and survey approaches. The instrument used was a questionnaire distributed to students of English Department of STKIP La Tansa Mahiro. The results showed in general, it was found that the most of respondents agree that Picture Describing Technique using KineMaster application is very beneficial and relevant to be used in English for Tourism class. This is evidenced by the results of 75% of students agree that Picture Describing Technique using KineMaster application is quite relevant and appropriate to be implemented in English for Tourism, 20% strongly agree and 4,2% disagree

Abstract

Salah satu organisasi dalam upaya mensejahterakan masyarakat adalah Koperasi. Koperasi tidak hanya diberdayakan oleh masyarakat umum, tetapi juga dapat dilaksanakan di lingkungan sekolah melalui Koperasi Siswa. Salah satu koperasi mahasiswa yang ada di Kota Serang adalah Koperasi Mahasiswa MA Al-Khairiyah. Koperasi ini dibentuk sebagai ekstrakurikuler mahasiswa dalam meningkatkan keterampilan dan kapasitas mahasiswa dalam berwirausaha dimana terdapat permasalahan yaitu Kurangnya pembimbing yang memfasilitasi mahasiswa dalam aspek kewirausahaan; Rendahnya motivasi siswa untuk mendalami kewirausahaan; Partisipasi mahasiswa dalam koperasi Al-Khairiyah stagnan. Sehingga berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut, solusi yang direkomendasikan adalah pendampingan pendampingan best practice dalam pengelolaan koperasi; Pendampingan dan pembekalan tentang kewirausahaan; Pendampingan dalam penyelenggaraan koperasi Al-Khairiyah. Adapun tahapan dalam kegiatan kegiatan ini terdiri dari Inisiasi Kegiatan; Analisis Situasi dan Kebutuhan; Pengembangan Modul; Pelaksanaan Pendampingan; Evaluasi Kegiatan. Hasil akhir didapatkan peningkatan sebesar 85% pada aspek budaya kewirausahaan, pemahaman best practice pemasaran dan pengelolaan koperasi, dan partisipasi anggota koperasi.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami persepsi dan praktek guru mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris di Banten dengan melihat pada pengetahuan materi, pengetahuan teknologi, pengetahuan pedagogi, pengetahuan pedagogi dan materi, pengetahuan teknologi dan materi, pengetahuan tentang teknologi dan pedagogi serta pengetahuan tentang teknologi pedagogi dan materi.  Analisis yang digunakan adalah Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) yang terbagi dalam aspek-aspek tersebut, seperti Pedagogical Knowledge (PK), Content Knowledge (CK), Technological Knowledge (TK), Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK), Technological Content Knowledge (TCK), Pengetahuan Pedagogis Teknologi (TPK), dan Pengetahuan Konten Pedagogis Teknologi (TPCK). Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis deskriptif dengan mengumpulkan informasi tentang guru bahasa Inggris di beberapa sekolah di kabupaten dan kota di Banten secara acak sebagai responden. Jawaban guru tentang pembelajaran online yang dilakukan dikumpulkan dengan memasukkan MGMP setiap kota dan kabupaten di Banten. Setelah itu peneliti menjelaskan analisis yang akan digunakan, memberikan kuisioner, kemudian menganalisis jawaban kuisioner tersebut. Hasil penelitian menggambarkan persepsi dan praktik pembelajaran online di Banten tinggi. Hal ini terlihat dari analisis ketujuh aspek TPACK yang dikategorikan sebagai respon ‘tinggi’ hingga ‘sangat tinggi’. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persepsi dan praktik pembelajaran online di kalangan guru bahasa Inggris di Banten diyakini sebagai salah satu proses belajar-mengajar dan memiliki kesiapan untuk menyelenggarakan pembelajaran online.

Abstract

Technology-based learning models are needed in the current industrial era 4.0. Technological developments need to be implemented in the learning process. The combination of learning models with learning media is a necessity to be developed in English lectures. The development carried out is in the form of developing an English language learning model based on audio-visual content. This learning model focuses on projects in the form of audio-visual content. The type of research conducted is Research and Development (R & D) with the design of the ADDIE model development namely Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluations. An audio-visual content-based English learning model was developed in the speaking for general communication course. The research instrument uses a validation sheet. Validation is carried out to material experts, educational technology, and learning evaluation using a scoring of likert scale. Data analysis techniques using qualitative descriptive statistics. The results of the study showed that the validation results of learning models, semester lesson plans, and speaking for general communication textbooks from validators consisting of educational technology experts, material experts and learning evaluation experts with interpretation criteria were very feasible. It can be concluded that the development of an audio-visual content-based English learning model is valid and appropriate to be used in the learning process of speaking for general communication.

Abstract

The sophistication of digital technology has presented new opportunities in early childhood education, one of which is through the use of interactive Artificial Intelligence (AI). This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to introduce and train educators at the Early Childhood Education (PKG) Kolase in Kramatwatu District, Serang Regency, in integrating AI technology into early childhood learning processes. The PKM implementation method included initial observation, hands-on training, mentoring in the use of educational AI applications, and evaluation of the training outcomes. The activity results showed that the educators were highly enthusiastic and capable of operating several developmentally appropriate AI applications, such as interactive voice-based story apps, smart educational games, and AI-based literacy and numeracy support platforms. The application of interactive AI has been proven to increase children's engagement in learning, spark curiosity, and provide a fun and adaptive learning experience. This activity has a positive impact on the quality of learning and enhances teachers' digital competency in responding to the challenges of the technological era. Therefore, the use of interactive AI technology can be an innovative solution to improve the quality of early childhood education in the future.

Abstract

This study examined the effectiveness of the Quizlet application in teaching vocabulary to eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Cikande, Indonesia. The study addressed the persistent challenge of limited vocabulary mastery in English classrooms, where traditional teaching methods often dominate and technology integration remains minimal. Using a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, two classes participated: the experimental group (n = 42) received vocabulary instruction through Quizlet, while the control group (n = 42) was taught using conventional methods. Both groups completed pre-tests and post-tests to measure vocabulary knowledge, including meaning, form, and usage. Statistical analyses, such as normality, homogeneity, and independent sample t-tests, were conducted using SPSS version 30. Results showed that the experimental group’s mean score increased from 54.64 to 83.57, while the control group improved from 66.43 to 75.60. Despite starting from a lower baseline, the experimental group achieved greater gains, indicating a significant difference (p < 0.05) between the two groups. These findings confirm the positive impact of Quizlet on students’ vocabulary learning. The study concludes that Quizlet proved to be an effective and engaging tool for improving students’ vocabulary mastery and recommends integrating Quizlet into English vocabulary instruction to enhance motivation and learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of learning facilities on the learning outcomes of SMK Pasundan 1 Serang City class XI students. The sample of this research is class XI students of SMK Pasundan 1 Serang City, with as many as 61 people who act as respondents. To answer questions from the formulation of the problem above, the type of research used is quantitative. In contrast, the data collection technique uses questionnaires, observation, and documentation, and the data analysis technique uses SPSS IBM 26. The results of hypothesis testing research using validity test, reliability test, normality test, linearity test, T-test, and F test show that learning facilities obtained the results of tcount 8.257> ttable 2.002 (sig 0.000 <0.05), meaning that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, it can be concluded that there is an influence between learning facilities on the learning outcomes of class XI students of SMK Pasundan 1 Serang City.
