Abstract

could encourage students to express their opinions, so media was needed that could improve students' argumentation skills. The purpose of this research was to produce teaching materials in the form of Argument-Driven Inquiry-based Physics Magazine to improve students' argumentation skills. This research method was research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE development model. The research involved 28 students of class VIII-B at MTs Negeri 2 Jember as the sample. The results showed the validity percentage of Physics Magazine was 97% (very valid), practicality was 88% (very practical), and N-gain was 0.60 (medium), and student responses reached 88% (very good). Aspects of claim, ground/data, and warrant showed high improvement, while backing, qualifier, and rebuttal showed moderate improvement. Physics Magazine based on Argument-Driven Inquiry met the criteria of validity, practicality, and effectiveness because it was arranged systematically according to the stages of Argument-Driven Inquiry and included all indicators of argumentation skills. Physics Magazine was feasible to be implemented in learning and could improve students' argumentation skills with moderate influence. This research provided alternative teaching materials that were innovative, interesting, and could be used by teachers in learning, especially to improve students' argumentation skills. Future research was expected to develop teaching materials with a focus on improving argumentation skills on backing, qualifier, and rebuttal indicators.

Abstract

Abstrak. Koin Abbasyah di Sumatera Utara: Bukti Interaksi Peradaban Islam Abad 8-9 Masehi. Situs Bongal sejauh ini adalah situs purbakala di Nusantara yang memiliki bukti artefaktual tertua hadirnya peradaban Islam di Nusantara sebelum abad ke-12 M. Hal itu berbeda dari teori yang menyebut Islam di Nusantara berasal dari India dan mulai hadir sejak abad ke-12 M. Artefak yang ditemukan di Situs Bongal itu adalah koin-koin perak (dirham) dari masa Dinasti Abbasyah yang berasal dari kurun abad ke-8–9 M. Pertanggalan koin-koin Abbasyah tersebut bersesuaian dengan hasil pertanggalan mutlak terhadap material organik yang didapat dari ekskavasi di Situs Bongal. Hasil analisis karbon menunjukkan rentang okupasi Situs Bongal antara abad ke-6–10 M. Temuan berupa koin-koin Dinasti Abbasyah di situs Bongal adalah jawaban dari permasalahan tentang masuknya peradaban Islam ke Nusantara. Dalam kajian sejarah masuknya Islam ke Nusantara, muncul beragam teori yang menjelaskan asal dan masa kedatangannya. Salah satu teori menyebutkan bahwa Islam di Nusantara masuk sejak abad ke-7 M dibawa oleh para saudagar dari Asia Barat (Timur Tengah). Permasalahan dari teori tersebut adalah tafsirnya yang hanya didasarkan pada data historis semata tanpa dukungan data arkeologis. Koin-koin Abbasyah dari Situs Bongal menjadi bukti bahwa salah satu unsur peradaban Islam di Nusantara hadir seiring jalinan perniagaan kepulauan ini dengan Asia Barat (Timur Tengah) jauh sebelum abad ke-12 M. Kata kunci: Islam, Abbasiyah, koin, Situs Bongal, Sumatra Utara Abstract. Abbasid Coins in North Sumatra: Evidence of Interactions with Islamic Civilization in the 8th – 9th Century A.D. The Bongal site is an archaeological site in the archipelago with the oldest artefactual evidence of the presence of Islamic civilization before the 12th century AD. This is different from the theory that Islam in the archipelago originated from India and began to appear in the 12th century AD. That artefactual evidence is silver coins (dirham) from the Abbasid dynasty dating from the 8th – 9th century AD. The dating of the Abbasid coins corresponds to the absolute dating of organic materials obtained from the excavation at the Bongal Site. The carbon dating results show the Bongal Site’s occupation range is between the 6th – 10th century A.D. The findings in the form of Abbasid dynasty coins at the Bongal site answer the problem of the entry of Islamic civilization into the archipelago. In the study of the history of the entry of Islam into the archipelago, various theories emerged that explain the origin and time of its arrival. One theory says Islam in the archipelago entered in the 7th century AD, brought by merchants from West Asia (Middle East). The problem with this theory is that its interpretation is only based on historical data without supporting archaeological data. Abbasid coins from the Bongal Site are evidence that one of the Islamic civilization elements in the archipelago was present along with the trade relations of this archipelago with West Asia (Middle East) long before the 12th century AD. Abstract

Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) become important key factors for producing qualified graduates and supporting creativity and innovation. The Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program stive to link and match between higher education graduates is not only with the business world and the industrial world but also with rapidly changing future. The research subjects were outbound and inbound student exchange. Qualitative data is used to determine the students perceptions in learning activities at Science Education Study Program. Learning activities by inbound student at UNEJ used as making material in power point slides (ppt) for group presentations, discussing material and analyzing videos. In UNNES, outbound students get project assignments, progress and presentation in virtual meeting. Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengkaji adanya pengaruh yang signifikan dan peningkatan kemampuan literasi sains siswa dalam penggunaan model pembelajaran guided inquiry berbantuan diagram berpikir multidimensi pada pembelajaran IPA di SMP dengan topik materi gelombang. Kegiatan penelitian tergolong penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan jenis kuasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi untuk mengetahui tingkat kemampuan awal literasi sains siswa dan tes untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan literasi sains siswa. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik berupa uji normalitas dan uji N-Gain. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari kelas VIII C sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII D sebagai kelas kontrol yang diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Perolehan data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan aplikasi SPSS Statistics 25. Analisis data diperoleh bahwa kedua data berdistribusi normal, sehingga dapat dilanjutkan uji Independent Sample T-test dengan perolehan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,050 yang menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari selisih nilai pre-test dan post-test kemampuan literasi sains siswa. Kemudian uji T pihak kanan didapatkan hasil T-hitung (3,734) > T-tabel (1,669) yang berarti nilai kemampuan literasi sains siswa di kelas eksperimen lebih baik dari pada di kelas kontrol. Data nilai pre-test dan post-test juga dianalisis menggunakan N-Gain Score dan didapatkan nilai rata-rata kemampuan literasi sains siswa tergolong kategori sedang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk menganalisis adanya pengaruh yang signifikan dan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa dalam penggunaan model pembelajaran Problem-Based Learning dengan LKPD berbasis multirepresentasi pada pembelajaran IPA di SMP dengan topik materi pencemaran lingkungan. Kegiatan penelitian tergolong penelitian kuantitatif menggunakan jenis kuasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent control group design. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes untuk melihat tingkat awal kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa dan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji statistik berupa uji normalitas dan uji N-Gain. Sampel penelitian diambil dari kelas VII F sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas VII G sebagai kelas eksperimen, Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Data penelitian kemudian dianalisis melalui aplikasi SPSS Statistics 25. Kedua data dari hasil analisis data diketahui berdistribusi normal, sehingga dilanjutkan menggunakan uji Independent Sample t-test yang diperoleh nilai signifikansi sebesar 0.000 < 0.05, menunjukkan dari selisih nilai pre-test dan post-test kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan. Uji T pihak kanan didapatkan hasil T-hitung (13.591) > T-tabel (1.669) yang berarti nilai kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa di kelas eksperimen lebih baik daripada kelas kontrol. Analisis data nilai pre-test dan post-test juga menggunakan N-Gain Score yang didapatkan nilai rata-rata kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa tergolong kategori tinggi.

Abstract

This study explores the strengthening of religious moderation through cultural communication in addressing socio-religious issues within multicultural communities. Employing a qualitative approach with library research methods, this study analyzes primary sources such as scholarly books, accredited national and international journals, and relevant policy documents. Data were collected through documentation and analyzed using content analysis techniques to identify patterns related to moderation, communication, and 21st-century skills. The findings reveal that religious moderation cannot be conveyed solely through normative doctrines; it must be contextualized through inclusive cultural communication that respects diversity. Core moderation values such as tawassuth, tasamuh, tawazun, i’tidal, and musawah are more effectively internalized when embedded in local communication practices. Additionally, the integration of 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity contributes significantly to cultivating tolerant individuals capable of navigating the complexities of contemporary social and religious life. This study provides a conceptual contribution by linking cultural communication with the mastery of 21st-century skills, a connection not thoroughly addressed in previous research. The implications emphasize the role of educational institutions, religious leaders, and media in fostering a moderate, inclusive society. Ultimately, religious moderation must be actualized through everyday practices supported by strategic communication and relevant competencies for navigating pluralistic realities.

Abstract

The Society 5.0 era necessitates that society address problems by harnessing information technology. Augmented Reality, one of the information technologies utilized in the education sector, presents virtual objects alongside real ones in a three-dimensional format, allowing for observation, interaction, and auditory engagement. Heat and transfer materials can be simulated and applied in the form of 3D objects and animations, facilitating direct student interaction and providing a captivating and distinctive learning experience. The objective of this research is to create an Augmented Reality-based textbook on heat and transfer material to enhance the critical thinking skills of junior high school students. This Research & Development used the ADDIE model including analyze, design, develop, implement and evaluate steps. Based on the results, augmented reality-based textbook is highly valid, practical, and effective in showcasing an improvement in the critical thinking skills of junior high school students, with the observed increase falling within the high category, specifically at 0.71

Abstract

The desulfurization of oil must be resolved as soon as possible due to a variety of issues, including environmental contamination and protection regulations. It was believed that oxidative desulfurization (ODS) was the most promising method. In this research, metal oxide-based layered double hydroxides (TiO2@Ni-Al and ZnO@Ni-Al) were effectively synthesized for the ODS of 4-methyldibenzothiophene (4-MDBT). TiO2@Ni-Al and ZnO@Ni-Al exhibited superior catalytic performance and high recycling capacity, achieving a 99% removal rate after five reactions in 30 min. The heterogeneous catalyst TiO2@Ni-Al/ZnO@Ni-Al is easy to separate and recover from a reaction system. Increased temperature facilitates the transformation of 4-MDBT into 4-MDBTO2. The influence of H2O2's rapid decomposition rate, which can inhibit oxidation reactions, reduces the catalytic activity as the temperature increases. 4-MDBT Sulphur removal on TiO2@Ni-Al and ZnO@Ni-Al is 99.48 and 99.51%, respectively. TiO2@Ni-Al and ZnO@Ni-Al have great potential for use in the industry based on these results. Copyright © 2023 by Authors, Published by BCREC Group. Abstract

This study aims to investigate 1) Implementing university governance at State Islamic Religious College (hereinafter abbreviated as PTKIN) on the north coast (Pantura) of Central Java, 2) Differences in organizational commitment, 3) The effect of establishing university governance on organizational commitment, and 4) Higher education's competitive advantage seen from implementing university governance and organizational commitment. This study employed a quantitative approach with a questionnaire as a data collection tool. The research results demonstrated that, first, the principles of university governance at PTKIN in Central Java, especially in Kudus, Semarang, and Pekalongan, have been effectively implemented. Second, the analysis test revealed no noteworthy difference in the organizational commitment among the PTKIN managers. Third, the university governance variable (X) influenced organizational commitment (Y). In other words, the better the university governance implementation, the higher the structural officials' organizational commitment. Fourth, for an organization to thrive and achieve exceptional performance, it must possess advantages beyond mere cost-based and product-based advantages. Despite some deficiencies, the implementation of university governance and organizational commitment exposed effectiveness and efficiency. As such, State Islamic Universities in these areas have the potential to develop and progress.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a flipbook-based E-Module integrated with external features to facilitate student self-learning. This research uses a Research and Development (R&D) method with an ADDIE model, which consists of five stages, i.e., analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate. The needs analysis of teaching material development was conducted through surveys, interviews, and observations. The validity test used a validation instrument filled out by three experts. Practicality was measured using the results of a questionnaire filled out by students as respondents. The data collected were then analyzed quantitatively. The results showed that the flipbook-based E-Module integrated with external features was categorized as very valid with a percentage of 91.09% and very practical with a score of 90.14%. Flipbook-based E-Module facilitated student self-learning in accordance with its character, namely self-instructional, self-contained, stand-alone, adaptive, and user-friendly characteristics.
