Abstract

Madrasah Ibtidaiyah as an Islamic basic education institution has a strategic role in shaping the character and competence of students, but the management of Education Operational Costs (BOP) often faces obstacles of transparency, accountability, and limited resources, so that a leadership model is needed that is able to integrate administrative aspects with moral and spiritual values; This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with interview, observation, and documentation techniques in three madrassas in West Purwokerto District to analyze the implementation of transformative leadership based on prophetic values (siddiq, amanah, tabligh, fathanah) in the management of BOP, with the aim of identifying leadership practices, supporting and inhibiting factors, and practical implications for improving the quality of education; The results of the study show that transformative leadership based on prophetic values is able to improve transparency, accountability, and efficiency of fund management, supported by religious culture, school committees, and government regulations, but still faces obstacles in the form of limited human resources and strict regulations on the use of funds, so this study provides a theoretical contribution to the development of Islamic education management as well as practical recommendations in the form of the need for management training based on prophetic values for madrasah heads and treasurers.

Abstract

Background: Sustainable working capital management is crucial for ensuring the operational sustainability, financial stability, and long-term resource resilience of educational institutions, which in turn underpins their contribution to inclusive and sustainable human capital development. In Islamic education, its management must also reflect principles of accountability, justice, and maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, reinforcing responsible and sustainable resource stewardship at the institutional level. Methods: This study employed a qualitative approach using library research. Data were drawn from relevant scientific literature, government regulations, and previous studies concerning educational working capital management, institutional financial sustainability, and Islamic financial principles. Findings: The findings indicate that educational working capital consists primarily of short-term operational funds that must be managed effectively, efficiently, transparently, and accountably to sustain institutional operations over time. Effective and sustainable management contributes to institutional financial stability, improved learning quality, and greater institutional independence, supporting the long-term viability of educational service delivery. From an Islamic perspective, working capital is an amanah that should be managed in accordance with maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah while avoiding riba, waste, and injustice — principles that align closely with sustainable and responsible resource management. Its efficiency can be assessed through quantitative and qualitative indicators, including working capital ratios, cost per learner, financial reporting transparency, and its contribution to sustainable educational service quality. Conclusion: Professional and Islamic-oriented working capital management provides an important foundation for the financial sustainability, resource efficiency, and long-term competitiveness of educational institutions. Novelty/Originality of this article: This article integrates conventional working capital management principles with Islamic education and maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, while proposing a multidimensional framework for assessing sustainable working capital efficiency in educational institutions.

Abstract

Background: Evaluation, supervision, and accountability are essential foundations for effective, efficient, transparent, and sustainable educational funding governance. Strengthening these functions is particularly important for maintaining public trust and sustaining long-term educational quality and institutional resilience in Indonesia. Methods: This study employed a descriptive-analytical approach to examine three main aspects of sustainable educational funding governance: the concept and function of supervision, control mechanisms for ensuring effective and sustainable program implementation, and forms and standards of financial accountability. Findings: The findings show that supervision serves as a managerial instrument for ensuring consistency between educational planning and budget realization, while control functions as a corrective mechanism to maintain the quality, efficiency, and sustainability of program implementation. Financial accountability is demonstrated through Rencana Kegiatan Anggaran Sekolah (RKAS), the school activity and budget plan, budget realization reports, and internal and external audits. The integration of these mechanisms strengthens transparency, compliance, and responsible, sustainable financial management. Conclusion: Synergy among evaluation, supervision, control, and accountability is a fundamental prerequisite for improving the sustainable governance of educational funding, strengthening public trust, and supporting the long-term sustainability of educational quality in Indonesia. Novelty/Originality of this article: This study emphasizes an integrated governance framework that connects supervision, control, and accountability as mutually reinforcing mechanisms for strengthening sustainable educational funding management and institutional accountability.

Abstract

Students’ limited grasp of Islamic work ethic underscores the necessity of instructional approaches that are more participatory and stimulating within Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This study investigates the utilization of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) strategy incorporating Pear Deck to foster comprehension of Islamic work ethics among Grade XI learners at SMK Tamansiswa Purwokerto. The investigation adopted a qualitative field-based methodology, with evidence gathered through direct observation, interviews, and documentary records. Data interpretation followed the Miles and Huberman interactive framework, comprising data condensation, data visualization, and verification of conclusions. The findings reveal that the learning sequence encompassed exposition of the subject matter, team assignment, peer deliberation, instructional games, tournament sessions, and assessment. The approach generated a classroom climate that was more participatory, dialogic, cooperative, and engaging, while reinforcing students’ appreciation of ethical work principles, including discipline, accountability, perseverance, integrity, and mutual cooperation. Accordingly, TGT integrated with Pear Deck demonstrates potential as an instructional innovation for deepening students’ comprehension of Islamic work ethics in PAI instruction.   Keywords: Teams Games Tournament, Pear Deck, Islamic work ethic, Islamic Religious Education

Abstract

This article examines Kitab Kuning manuscripts preserved in Javanese–Penginyongan pesantren from the late nineteenth to the mid-twentieth century (1890s–1970s) through a codicological and philological lens. It identifies two dominant textual formations: localized adaptations of authoritative Islamic works from the wider Sunni canon, and original compositions by indigenous ulama crafted to address regional pedagogical needs, linguistic sensibilities, and socio-religious realities. Covering major fields of Islamic learning, such as tafsir, fiqh, kalam, and tasawwuf, the manuscript corpus demonstrates a vibrant and plural intellectual ecology within rural pesantren culture. Detailed codicological analysis of script styles, ink composition, paper provenance, bindings, colophons, marginalia, and Arabic–Pegon bilingualism reveals not only material practices of manuscript production, but also modes of transmission, annotation, and pedagogical use. These features illuminate how texts were read, taught, and recontextualized across generations of santri and teachers. The study argues that Penginyongan pesantren functioned as dynamic nodes of Islamic knowledge-making, actively mediating between transregional Islamic scholarship and local epistemic frameworks. In doing so, they contributed decisively to the vernacularization, continuity, and hybridity of Islamic textual traditions within the broader Nusantara scholarly network.
