Abstract

The aim of the service activity is to provide insight and increase the professionalism of teachers in Tasikmalaya City in designing Local Instructional Theory (LIT) for innovative learning in elementary schools. The innovative learning models offered are the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model, and Project Based Learning (PjBL). Overall, teachers were not yet familiar with the concept of LIT, but when the training was carried out, teachers became aware and interested in developing a Local Instruction Theory design. Teachers' ability to develop Local Instruction Theory in learning is still very low. There are several factors that cause this to happen. First, teachers do not yet understand LIT and innovative learning models in the independent curriculum. Second, there is still a lack of training in creating/compiling/designing LIT in the independent curriculum. The partners' problem solutions include providing training and providing assistance to elementary school teachers to design LIT for learning. This training activity was attended by 20 elementary school teachers at one of the elementary schools in Tasikmalaya City. After attending the training, the participants gave a positive response and felt the need to carry out the next training.

Abstract

Masalah sampah plastik di sekolah dasar membutuhkan upaya pendidikan melalui pembelajaran yang mengintegrasikan literasi lingkungan secara kontekstual. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kondisi awal pembelajaran sains berbasis literasi lingkungan dan mengidentifikasi potensi ecobrick sebagai alternatif pembelajaran kontekstual. Studi ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan wawancara mendalam dengan guru kelas lima di sebuah sekolah dasar di Kota Tasikmalaya. Data dianalisis melalui reduksi, presentasi, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa meskipun pembelajaran sains telah menerapkan metode aktif, integrasi literasi lingkungan terkait pengelolaan sampah plastik belum diterapkan secara sistematis. Pemahaman siswa lebih efektif melalui praktik langsung daripada melalui pembelajaran teoritis. Aktivitas ecobrick telah diterapkan dan mendapat respons positif, tetapi belum berkelanjutan. Guru percaya ecobrick memiliki potensi untuk meningkatkan literasi lingkungan siswa jika distrukturkan dalam pembelajaran sains.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the level of effectiveness of using the Children Learning In Science (CLIS) learning model on student misconceptions regarding photosynthesis material in fourth grade elementary school. This is motivated by the lack of variety in the learning process which can cause students to have misconceptions about certain material. The research method used was quasi experimental design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population came from 2 class IV students at SDN Kebon Baru 09 Pagi, South Jakarta in the 2023/2024 academic year using a saturated sampling technique involving a total of 54 students. There were 27 students in each class, where class IVA was the control group and class IVD was the experimental group. The instrument used was a description test of 10 questions which was carried out at 2 meetings (pretest and posttest). Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that by providing treatment to the experimental group by implementing the CLIS learning model, there was an increase in student understanding. It can be seen in the comparison that the difference in the logit value of students' abilities in the experimental group is 1.954 while the control group is only 1.425. Apart from that, it can be seen from the increase in the percentage value that the experimental group reached 17.19% while the control group only reached 10.88%. Furthermore, it can be seen in the decrease in the number of students who have misconceptions in questions 6, 7, 8, and 9. Therefore, it can be concluded that implementing the CLIS model is said to be effective because it can increase understanding and reduce or minimize the occurrence of misconceptions among students, especially regarding photosynthesis material.

Abstract

Learning by using tools in the form of media is one way to improve the quality and interest of students' learning. The use of learning media in schools is very limited, so media development in learning is needed. Researchers aim to use the development of miniature PLTB (Wind Power Plant) media based on the 7th SDGs to facilitate critical thinking on energy material, the media used is valid and suitable for use. PLTB media development uses the ADDIE method with several stages as follows: analysis, planning, development, implementation, and evaluation. The products that have been developed are validated by media experts and material experts, data collection using a questionnaire by providing an assessment sheet by 1 media expert and 1 science material expert lecturer. The results of validation from media experts get a score of 77.33% which is included in the “Valid” criteria and for material experts get a score of 81.33% which is included in the “Very Valid” criteria. Thus, the miniature PLTB media that has been developed is suitable for use in learning science in elementary schools on energy material.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the scientific thinking abilities of male and female students in solving open-end questions. This research was designed using qualitative research with exploratory methods. The data collection techniques used in this research were observation, test questions, interviews, and documentation. From the results of this research it can be concluded that 1) There is no difference in the scientific thinking abilities of male and female students in the high group, but there is a difference in scientific attitudes, namely female students in the high group do not show respect for data/facts. 2) There are differences in the scientific thinking abilities of male and female students in the medium group. Male students are able to carry out investigations, analyze and make inferences. Meanwhile, female students are able to analyze and provide arguments. Male students show a curious attitude, respect for data/facts, a critical thinking attitude, an open-minded attitude and cooperation, perseverance and a sensitive attitude towards the surrounding environment. Where female students show respect for data/facts, open thinking and cooperation and are sensitive to the surrounding environment. 3) There are differences in the scientific thinking abilities of male and female students in the low group. Male students are able to carry out investigations and make inferences. Meanwhile, female students are only able to provide arguments. Then there are differences in scientific attitudes shown by male and female students in the low group. Male students show discovery and creativity, an open-minded attitude and cooperation and a sensitive attitude towards the surrounding environment. Where female students show an attitude of curiosity, respect for data/facts, an attitude of discovery and creativity as well as an open mind and cooperation. Keywords: gender, open ended, scientific

Abstract

Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik Elektronik (E-LKPD) yang memfasilitasi berpikir kritis siswa pada materi energi telah banyak dikembangkan untuk digunakan di kelas IV SD, namun belum banyak E-LKPD yang berbasis SDGs terutama poin ke-7. Tujuan dari penelitian yang dilaksanakan adalah untuk menciptakan produk E-LKPD berbasis SDGs poin ke-7 yang memfasilitasi berpikir kritis siswa. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah mix methods. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah R&D (Research & Development) dan model pengembangannya yaitu model ADDIE dengan tahapan yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini yaitu tahap analysis, design, dan development. Data yang dikumpulkan menggunakan lembar validasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumen. Pengembangan E-LKPD ini melibatkan ahli materi, bahasa dan media sebagai bentuk penilaian validasi layak atau tidaknya produk yang dikembangkan untuk diterapkan di sekolah dasar. nilai validasi aspek materi adalah 84% (sangat layak), nilai validasi aspek bahasa 76% (sangat layak), nilai validasi aspek media 95% (sangat layak) dan mendapatkan skor keseluruhan rata-ratanya adalah 85% dengan kategori sangat layak. Hasil dari penelitian pengembangan produk E-LKPD berbasis SDGs poin ke-7 ini sudah termasuk dalam kriteria valid dan layak. Sehingga dapat diimplementasikan di kelas IV SD. Abstract

This research is motivated by the geographical conditionns of indonesia in the Ring of Fire area, which requires the systematic integration of disaster education from an early ago. Phenomena in the field show that elementary school students’ understanding of disaster mitigation is often still abstract and difficult to internalize due to delivery methods that tend to be monotonus and conventional. The main purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the use of flashcard media in improving cognitive understanding and building the mental readiness of grade IV elementary school students in facing the threat of earhquakes. The research method applied is qualitative descriptive to provide a systematic overview of the learning phenomenon at SD Negeri 1 Muktisari Banjar city. Data collection was carried out through participatory observation techniques, in- depth interview with homeroom teachers, and documentation studies. The validity of the data is ensured through triangulation and membercheck techniques to ensure the objectivity of the findings. The results of the study revealed that the use of flashcard media was able to bridge the limitations of space and physical simulation facilities in schools.The visual and interactive characterististics of these media have proven to be effective in accelerating the undertanding of techning terms as well as complex safety procedures through multisensory stimulation. The integration of this media in the learning procesess was found to be able to increase the active involvement of students compared to the use of conventional text. The positive impact resulting from this intervention is the formation of self- efficacy and a solid mental foundation in stundents. Through a clearer understanding of risk, students feel more empowered to take calmly and measurable self-rescue actions, so that the rist of psychological trauma due to disasters can be optimally suppressed from an early age.
