Abstract

Background: Fracture is a disruption of the continuity of bone tissue caused by traffic accidents or deformity. Fracture surgery is an invasive procedure that is usually performed on fracture patients. Surgery will of course have unpleasant impacts on the patient, one of which is pain. Pain arising from surgery or post-surgery can be reduced using non-pharmacological techniques. Non-pharmacological techniques that can be applied include deep breathing techniques, classical music therapy, cold compress therapy, aroma therapy, and finger-hold relaxation techniques. Objective: This research aims to analyze journals related to non-pharmacological techniques in reducing post-operative fracture pain. Method: Using literature review. The research samples analyzed were 5 articles. Data collection tools use Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and PubMed. Results: The 5 articles used in this literature review show an influence or reduction in the intensity of post-fracture surgery pain after being given non-pharmacological therapy. Conclusion: Non-pharmacological techniques can be used on patients who experience post-fracture surgery pain because the results of the analysis of several articles state that there is an influence or reduction in the intensity of post-fracture surgery pain.

Abstract

Background: Emergency conditions necessitate prompt and appropriate management to mitigate the risks of disability and mortality. A fundamental component of emergency care is triage, which serves to prioritise patient treatment based on the severity of their condition and guide the necessary clinical interventions. This study aimed to assess the effectiveness of peer-led health education supported by audio-visual media in improving students’ comprehension of emergency triage procedures. Methods: A quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group pretest-posttest design was implemented. The research population comprised second-semester nursing students from STIKES Hutama Abdi Husada Tulungagung. A purposive sampling method was used to select 41 participants. The educational intervention was delivered through peer-led sessions and supplemented with audio-visual media. Data were gathered using a validated structured questionnaire and analysed employing the Wilcoxon signed-rank test and the Mann-Whitney U test. Results: Analysis using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test yielded a statistically significant result (p = 0.000) in both intervention groups, demonstrating that the health education provided had a meaningful impact on students’ understanding of emergency triage. Furthermore, the Mann-Whitney U test indicated a mean rank of 35.43 for participants in the peer education group and 47.57 for those in the audio-visual group, with a significance level of p = 0.019. Conclusion: The findings confirm that both peer-led and audio-visual-based health education methods are effective in increasing nursing students’ knowledge of emergency triage. Nevertheless, the audio-visual approach demonstrated superior outcomes and is, therefore, recommended as the preferred strategy for enhancing triage competency in educational settings.

Abstract

Aphasia is a communication disorder that occurs after brain damage. Delays in diagnosing aphasia can lead to depression, decrease quality of life, and raise hospital stays and costs. Ischemic stroke aphasia screening instruments have been widely developed but are still difficult to interpret.  Nowadays, the Language Screening Test (LAST) is reportedly quick, easy to understand, straightforward, and suitable for use by nurses. However, the LAST subtests are different from the Frenchay Aphasia Screening Test (FAST), which has been used in the past to evaluate aphasia. This study aims to determine the relationship between LAST and FAST in ischemic stroke aphasic patients for aphasia screening. The study used an analytic observational method with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were stroke patients at Tugurejo Semarang Hospital who had their CT Scan checked. The sample was taken using a purposive sampling technique. Bivariate data analysis with Spearman Rank Correlation test. We obtained 50 samples 19 male patients and 31 female patients with the highest age range of 51-60 years as many as 26 patients. The highest Education and profession is primary school and housewife. Patients who experienced aphasia with LAST and FAST scored as many as 27 and 29 people, while the rest not have aphasia. The Spearman's Rank test obtained p-values of 0,000 and < 0,05 respectively. Meanwhile, the correlation coefficients of LAST and FAST on aphasia were 0,678 and 0,678 respectively. There is a positive correlation between the LAST and FAST in ischemic stroke aphasic patients for aphasia screening. Nurses can use the LAST instrument to collect data and establish nursing diagnoses of verbal communication disorders.

Abstract

Reliable connection inspection is crucial for the quality of semiconductor products. A frequent issue is stitch defects during wire bonding. To address this, an investigation was conducted using flow charts. Additionally, an analysis was performed by identifying root causes using the Fishbone Diagram method and the 5 Whys technique. After improvements, including targeted operator training, a significant reduction of 96.75% in stitch defects was achieved. This study demonstrates that the combination of root cause analysis methods and operator training effectively enhances the reliability of the wire bonding process and the quality of semiconductor products. This study did not account for environmental factors that might influence the wire bonding process, such as temperature and humidity variations. Therefore, the findings may be limited in settings with different environmental conditions.
