Abstract

Objective: This study aims to explore the role and impact of participative leadership on employee performance in educational institutions, focusing on decision-making and employee engagement. Despite existing research, gaps remain in understanding how participative leadership influences performance in the education sector. Method: The study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. Research questions were formulated to guide the review process. Relevant literature was collected from databases such as Scopus, Google Scholar, and PubMed. The collected studies were then analyzed to identify trends, patterns, and relationships between participative leadership and employee performance. Results: Findings indicate that participative leadership enhances employee performance by fostering a collaborative environment and increasing employee involvement in decision-making. This leadership style aligns with intrinsic motivation theory, highlighting that employee feel more responsible and productive when valued and empowered. However, the effectiveness of participative leadership varies depending on organizational culture and institutional structure, necessitating further context-specific studies. Novelty: This research contributes to participative leadership theory by emphasizing its significance in the education sector. It also highlights the moderating role of organizational factors and expands on intrinsic motivation theory. Practical implications include adopting democratic leadership strategies in educational institutions to enhance employee and organizational outcomes.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the concept of visionary leadership in Islamic education, identify factors influencing leader quality, and explain the role of visionary leadership in developing Islamic educational institutions. It seeks to propose a model that integrates Islamic values with modern educational management to enhance institutional effectiveness. Methods: A qualitative approach with a literature study method was employed. Data collection involved analyzing books, scientific articles, and research reports related to visionary leadership and Islamic education. Thematic analysis was conducted to identify patterns and relationships among concepts, followed by the systematic presentation of findings. Results: The study highlights that visionary leadership, rooted in Islamic values, plays a critical role in educational transformation. Key factors influencing leader quality include managerial skills, communication abilities, and moral integrity. Visionary leadership fosters educational innovations, enhances learning quality, and strengthens stakeholder relationships. Moreover, it bridges academic goals with the spiritual and moral aspects inherent in Islamic education. The integration of Islamic values—such as honesty and compassion—into leadership practices supports the holistic development of students and institutional culture. Novelty: This research proposes a model of visionary leadership tailored to Islamic educational institutions. It emphasizes Islamic value-based management, systematic leader development strategies, and the incorporation of modern technology. The model is designed to address current challenges while maintaining the Islamic identity of institutions, providing actionable recommendations for leadership training and curriculum development responsive to local and global needs.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to examine the relationship between the Joyful Learning approach and the application of Flipped Classroom-based applications to student engagement and learning outcomes at the elementary school level. The problems raised focus on the effectiveness of the integration of the two innovative approaches in improving the quality of learning and academic achievement of students. Method: This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The sample consisted of 60 grade V students from an elementary school in Sidoarjo who had implemented digital application-based learning. The instruments used include a Likert scale-based questionnaire to measure students' perception of Joyful Learning and Flipped Classroom, as well as learning outcome tests to assess academic achievement. Data analysis was performed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multiple linear regression. Results: The results showed that although the average score of the implementation of Joyful Learning and Flipped Classroom was relatively high, no statistically significant effect was found on student learning outcomes (p > 0.05). The correlation between the independent variable and the dependent variable shows a positive but weak relationship. The hypothesis proposed in this study is not empirically proven. Novelty: These findings suggest that the success of the integration of Joyful Learning and Flipped Classroom is heavily influenced by factors beyond the learning model itself. This research contributes to the development of more contextual digital learning strategies and suggests the need for a more holistic approach to improve student engagement and learning outcomes. Follow-up research is recommended to examine mediating and moderator variables that can strengthen the relationship between innovative learning methods and academic achievement
