Abstract

he author was inspired to conduct this research because of the large number of selfharming behaviors that appear in children with autism spectrum disorders. The main aim of this research is to analyze patterns of self-harm behavior in children with autism and find hypotheses about the causes of the behavior so that more appropriate interventions can be formulated. This research uses a qualitative approach with the research design used in this research being a single case study, and the data is analyzed using Nvivo with visual word count, project map and cluster analysis by coding the data in a functional behavior assessment which is then analyzed using Nvivo. The research subjects were 2 GSA students with self-harming behavior at SLB YPPA Bukittinggi. The results of the research show that the function of aji's behavior is access to tangible goods, escape and attention and the function of self-harming behavior that appears in alfi is automatic reinforcement (sensory stimulation).

Abstract

This study aims to improve the color recognition ability for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the first grade at SLB YPPLB Padang using finger painting games. This research employs a quantitative research type with an experimental approach in the form of Single Subject Research (SSR) with an A-B design. The data analysis technique in this study is visual data analysis by presenting data graphs. The results of the data analysis obtained at the baseline condition (A1) show a horizontal trend for the subjects with a level of horizontal change (+0). The stability trend at the initial condition is stable with a percentage of 100% occurring three times in meetings: 25%, 25%, 25%. At the baseline condition (A), it can be seen that the direction of data change is stable with no changes before the intervention was carried out. Observations during the intervention condition (B) showed a level of change (+56.25), indicating an improvement in color recognition ability with percentages from 8 meetings being 43.75%, 68.75%, 75%, 87.5%, 87.5%, 100%, 100%, and 100%. The data direction shows a very significant increase and an overlap percentage of 0%. This illustrates a clearer development in the students' abilities, suggesting that the intervention provided has a positive impact on the variable.

Abstract

Indonesia continues to face significant challenges in achieving optimal nutrition, as malnutrition persists despite advancements in the health sector. This study explores how parents in West Sumatra make decisions about their children's meals, focusing specifically on their understanding of stunting and the role of dietary variety. The goal is to assess how parental awareness of stunting affects their choices in providing balanced, nutritious meals for their children. The study collected data from 387 parents using a structured questionnaire, analyzed through descriptive and correlational methods. Results showed that rice is the primary staple, consumed an average of 2.78 times per day. Although animal protein sources like fish and eggs are commonly included, vegetable and fruit consumption remain below recommended levels. A weak but positive correlation was identified between parental knowledge and food variety, especially regarding fruits and vegetables. However, this relationship was generally weak (ρ < 0.2), likely shaped by additional factors like household income and food access. The research also uncovered notable variations in parental knowledge depending on socioeconomic status, with higher-income families demonstrating greater awareness of stunting. These outcomes imply that while nutrition education is important, it must be paired with strategies that address broader structural challenges such as affordability and food availability. Further studies using longitudinal or qualitative methods are recommended to better understand the behaviors that influence dietary choices and to inform more effective nutrition policies.

Abstract

This artilce aimed to investigate the practicality of Multiple Intelligences Theory (MIT) based module using the experimental indicators consisting of the module’s appearance, performance, the use of module, and the utilization of reading skills, to produce multiple intelligences theory based reading skill learning module assessed by the experts of media and learning materials, and to find out the effectiveness of multiple intelligences theory based reading skill learning module by improving word reading accuracy score. The researchers used ADDIE development model. All respondents are 300 students of SD Negeri Inklusi Tegalpanggung. The data collection technique used interview, questionnaire, and performance assessment. The data were analyzed by using descriptive-qualitative. The improvement of reading accuracy is examined through Normalized-Gain Test. The findings showed that multiple Intelligences theory based word recognition learning module which was used based on the examination with the category of “Very Good”. The products consist of introduction, content, and conclusion; the introduction consists of objectives, significances, and module map; the module consists of 16 learning materials divided into four sub-basic competencies and elaborated into four intelligences area; evaluation. Furthermore, the assessment from the expert 1 towards the learning module namely 3,7 with category “appropriate enough” and the expert II obtain mean value 4,01 classified into “appropriate” category and the media expert obtain mean value 4,47 with category of very appropriate. The effective learning module improves the reading skills assessed from the improvement of fluent reading skill with the post test score 92,6%.
