Abstract

AbstractVolunteers are people who decide to be involved in volunteering activities based on careful calculation. The activities by volunteers are voluntary and without expecting external rewards. The population in the study came from five social communities in Bandar Lampung: 1) Jendela Lampung Community, 2) Komunitas Peduli Generasi with Yayasan Rumah Singgah Peduli Lampung, 3) Komunitas Sedekah Lampung, 4) Komunitas Berbagi (Kombi), and 5) Itera Mengajar. From these five social communities, the researchers obtained a population of 202 volunteers. The researchers obtained a sample of 60 volunteers through purposive sampling techniques and screening. This study employed Likert scales data collection method, which includes a volunteer involvement scale, a social motive scale, and a group commitment scale. The data were analyzed using two predictor multiple regression analysis techniques assisted by the JASP 0.16.1.0 program for Windows. The results showed that the correlation value (r) was 0.337 with a significant p-value of 0.041 (p-value smaller than 0.05). The hypothesis is accepted; therefore, a significant relationship exists between social motives and group commitment on volunteer involvement. The R2 value of 0.155 states that the two independent variables effectively contribute 15.5%.Keywords: Volunteer Involvement, Social Motives, and Group Commitment

Abstract

Parenting a child with an intellectual disability is a difficult challenge for a mother, who must have confidence and resilience to care for and raise a child as a mandate from Allah. This study aims to examine parenting self-efficacy in mothers of children with intellectual disabilities in terms of hardiness. Parenting self-efficacy refers to the perceived ability of parents to positively impact their children's behavior and development. Hardiness is a personality trait that allows people to survive difficult situations (Kobasa, Maddi & Kahn, 1982). This study employed the purposive sampling technique with 57 mothers with intellectually disabled children. The instruments to collect the self-efficacy data were the parenting task index (SEPTI) and the toughness scale. The data was analyzed using the Pearson product-moment correlation formula assisted by JASP 18.1 software for Windows. The study found a significant positive correlation between hardiness and parenting self-efficacy among mothers of intellectually disabled children (R = 0.539 and R² = 0.291, p < 0.01). Thus, parenting self-efficacy effectively contributed 29.1%, with the remaining 70.9% influenced by variables not investigated in this study. Keywords: Hardiness, parenting self-efficacy, mothers of children with intellectual disability.

Abstract

The quarter-life crisis is a feeling of anxiety that arises from the uncertainty of life ahead, particularly in relation to relationships, career, and social life, typically occurring in one's 20s. The challenges faced during a quarter-life crisis include issues related to dreams and expectations, academic interests, religion and spirituality, as well as work and career life. These problems emerge when individuals reach the age of 18-29, or after completing their secondary education, such as university students. The academic leap from university to the workforce often causes emotional wounds and instability, leading to an emotional crisis. This study is quantitative and focuses on fresh graduates who graduated during periods 3, 4, and 5 of 2023 at UIN Raden Intan Lampung, who are not yet employed. It uses random sampling to select 249 fresh graduates as respondents. The measurement tools used include scales for quarter-life crisis, religiosity, and peer pressure. Multiple regression analysis was applied to analyze the data, using SPSS 26 for Windows. The analysis revealed a significant relationship between religiosity and peer pressure with the quarter-life crisis, with an R value of 0.348 and an F value of 6.390. The effective contribution was found to be 12.1%. The study also discovered a positive relationship between religiosity and quarter-life crisis in fresh graduates, contributing 10.58%. Furthermore, the study found a negative relationship between peer pressure and quarter-life crisis in fresh graduates, with an effective contribution of 1.50%. Abstract

In order to fulfill its obligations and perform its functions, the government engages in a variety of structuring, management, and development activities, one of which is population administration, which is governed by Law Number 24 of 2013 and closely connected to social life in national development to advance people's welfare in order to achieve the goals. The balance between the government's objectives of meeting community needs and empowering institutions internally through accurate document services embodies the aspirations of the country.  This study employed a descriptive analytic method together with methods for gathering data from literature or literature studies. Regarding what the descriptive approach entails, it has to do with exposing a phenomenon or the connections between two or more phenomena.  The study's findings support the notion that population administration policy entails a number of structuring and regulating actions in the issuance of population documents and data through civil registration, population registration, management of population administration information, and utilization of the outcomes for public services and the development of other sectors. However, in reality, impediments from both internal and external sources still affect the quality of service, which in turn affects how well work programs are carried out and reflects the performance of the personnel involved in it.   Keywords: Implementation, Public Service, Population Administration.
