Abstract

This research is aimed at describing a form of violation of early childhood politeness and explaining the form of assessment of early childhood language politeness in non -formal education in Bagok, East Aceh. This research uses a type of qualitative research. The data in this study is the speech of early childhood language interactions in non -formal education in Bagok, East Aceh. Data collection techniques in this study are observation, documentation, free consider techniques and record techniques. Data analysis techniques in this study use the theory of Miles and Huberman which include data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Based on the results of research from all data found as many as 42 children's speech data that violated the principle of early childhood politeness at the Nurul Ilmi Recitation Center, Bagok Aceh Timur. Forms of violations of early childhood language politeness found 28 data on the maximum violation of policy, 7 maxim data receipts, 5 maxim data humility, and 2 maxim data agreement. Meanwhile, 42 data shows the form of language politeness assessment, with 28 data on the scale scale of profits and losses, 3 selected scale scale assessment data, 3 data scale assessment data, and 8 Social Scale Assessment Data.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi telah mengubah lanskap penerbitan ilmiah, mendorong peralihan dari media cetak ke platform digital. Open Journal Systems (OJS) 3 hadir sebagai solusi sistem manajemen jurnal berbasis open-source yang efisien dan adaptif terhadap kebutuhan akademik modern. Artikel ini mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pelatihan daring OJS 3 pada 8–9 Maret 2025 bagi para pengelola jurnal ilmiah dari berbagai institusi, yang bertujuan membekali peserta dengan keterampilan teknis mengelola sistem penerbitan ilmiah secara mandiri. Pelatihan dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan partisipatif, melibatkan ceramah interaktif, demonstrasi langsung, dan praktik mandiri melalui simulasi teknis. Materi mencakup instalasi OJS 3, konfigurasi awal, manajemen submisi naskah, proses editorial dan peer-review, hingga publikasi dan optimasi metadata. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman peserta terhadap fitur-fitur utama OJS 3, seperti integrasi dengan CrossRef, DOI, iThenticate, dan optimasi SEO. Evaluasi menunjukkan 85% peserta merasa puas terhadap kedalaman materi dan metode penyampaian. Kendala teknis seperti instalasi server dan perbedaan literasi digital peserta dapat diatasi melalui pendampingan langsung. Pasca pelatihan, peserta menunjukkan peningkatan kepercayaan diri dalam mengelola jurnal, serta aktif melakukan konsultasi teknis melalui forum daring. Pelatihan ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kapasitas pengelola jurnal sekaligus memperkuat ekosistem publikasi ilmiah nasional. Rekomendasi ke depan meliputi pelatihan lanjutan dan penguatan jaringan kolaboratif antar institusi. Kegiatan ini merupakan langkah strategis dalam mendukung transformasi digital, perluasan akses terbuka, dan peningkatan daya saing publikasi ilmiah di Indonesia.

Abstract

The "Videography Training as a Presentation Medium for Final Projects for Indonesian Language Education Students" at Universitas Malikussaleh aims to enhance students’ skills in utilizing multimedia technology as an academic presentation tool. This training covers using CapCut for video editing and Canva for template design, supporting students in creating effective and engaging final project presentations. The training method combines theoretical instruction and hands-on practice, focusing on essential techniques in video capture, visual arrangement, and audio-visual editing that facilitate clear and informative communication. The training was attended by 20 students and held at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Building, Universitas Malikussaleh. The training results demonstrated a significant improvement in students' skills using CapCut and Canva, especially in adding text, overlays, audio effects, and other graphic elements that enhance the aesthetic quality and professionalism of their presentations. Additionally, these applications encourage students to be more creative in constructing visual narratives that effectively reinforce the academic messages they aim to convey. Thus, this training not only equips students with relevant technical skills but also supports their preparedness for a job market increasingly demanding multimedia competence. This activity is expected to serve as a long-term investment in preparing graduates who are adaptable to the evolving digital technology landscape in education and communication.ABSTRAKKegiatan “Pelatihan Videografi sebagai Media Presentasi Tugas Akhir Mahasiswa Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia” di Universitas Malikussaleh bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan mahasiswa dalam memanfaatkan teknologi multimedia sebagai media presentasi akademis. Pelatihan ini mencakup penggunaan aplikasi CapCut untuk editing video dan Canva untuk pembuatan template, guna mendukung mahasiswa dalam menyusun presentasi tugas akhir yang efektif dan menarik. Metode pelatihan yang diterapkan mengombinasikan teori dan praktik langsung, dengan fokus pada teknik dasar pengambilan gambar, pengaturan visual, serta pengeditan audio-visual yang mendukung alur komunikasi yang jelas dan informatif. Pelatihan ini diikuti oleh 20 mahasiswa dan berlangsung di Gedung Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Malikussaleh. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam keterampilan mahasiswa menggunakan CapCut dan Canva, terutama dalam menambahkan teks, overlay, efek audio, dan elemen grafis lain yang memperkuat kualitas estetika dan profesionalisme video presentasi. Selain itu, aplikasi ini mendorong mahasiswa untuk lebih kreatif dalam menyusun narasi visual yang dapat memperkuat pesan ilmiah yang disampaikan. Dengan demikian, pelatihan ini tidak hanya membekali mahasiswa dengan keterampilan teknis yang relevan, tetapi juga mendukung kesiapan mereka untuk menghadapi dunia kerja yang semakin menuntut kompetensi multimedia. Kegiatan ini diharapkan menjadi investasi jangka panjang dalam mempersiapkan lulusan yang mampu beradaptasi dengan perkembangan teknologi digital di bidang pendidikan dan komunikasi.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and understand the audience’s motives by watching Buya Yahya’s Islamic content on the Al-Bahjah TV YouTube channel using the Uses and Gratification Theory as an analytical framework. This theory explains that audiences actively choose media to fulfill specific needs. In this research, viewers' motives are categorized based on five types of needs that media can satisfy, as proposed by Katz, Gurevitch, and Haas: cognitive needs, affective needs, personal integrative needs, social integrative needs, and tension release. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques including observation and in-depth interviews with three informants from diverse backgrounds to those who watches Buya Yahya’s Islamic content on the Al-Bahjah TV YouTube channel. Data were analyzed using the interactive model by Miles and Huberman, regarding data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. Thus, shows that the motives for watching Buya Yahya’s Islamic content are based on the five types of needs: cognitive, affective, personal integrative, social integrative, and tension release. However, the main motives are fulfilling cognitive needs, affective needs, social integrative needs, and tension release. Although the motive to fulfill personal integrative needs was present, it was not dominant nor considered a primary motive. The study also shows that Buya Yahya’s Islamic content on Al-Bahjah TV’s YouTube channel provides audiences with an in depth understanding of Islam, delivers a positive emotional impact, and offers inspiration and spiritual motivation.

Abstract

The short story ‘Istri Prajurit’ by Nh. Dini is one of the Indonesian literary works that reflects the values of feminism through the characters Ningsih and Aku. This research aims to analyze three indicators of feminism, namely discrimination, emancipation, and women's power, using a descriptive qualitative approach that integrates literature study and content analysis based on feminist literary criticism. The analysis shows that the discrimination experienced by Ningsih comes from her family, who reject her marriage to Garjo, a non-bangsawan man, as depicted in Data 1 and 2, which also affects her daughter, Nani, who does not receive financial support for treatment. Women's emancipation is shown through Ningsih's courage to go against social norms by abandoning her family's traditions to marry Garjo (Data 3) and her decision to migrate to Jakarta in search of a better life (Data 4). The character Aku plays a major role in this emancipation by providing moral encouragement to Ningsih and convincing her of her potential. Women's power is seen in Aku, who realizes her worth as a woman, chooses not to continue her relationship with Narto to maintain her life principles (Data 5), and inspires Ningsih to rise from adversity (Data 6). This research reveals the dynamic relationship between discrimination, emancipation, and women's power, showing the struggle against patriarchy and the achievement of independence, making a significant contribution to the study of feminism in Indonesian literature.

Abstract

Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan penerapan kosakata bahasa Inggris ke dalam kalimat sederhana dalam bentuk dialog singkat yang interaktif bagi para siswa SD jenjang kelas lima. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di SD Negeri 9 Dewantara, Kecamatan Dewantara, Aceh Utara. Kegiatan ini bertujuan meningkatkan penggunaan kosakata yang sudah dikuasai oleh para peserta kedalam kalimat tanya jawab sederhana. Kalimat tanya jawab bahasa Inggris ini berfokus tentang hal-hal dan aktivitas yang sering dialami oleh para siswa sehari-hari. Pengabdian ini melibatkan 21 pelajar muda bahasa Inggris berusia 9 tahun. Data pengabdian dikumpulkan dari hasil observasi selama proses pengajaran. Hasil Pengabdian mengungkapkan bahwa pada awalnya para siswa tidak mampu menggunakan kosa-kata bahasa Inggris untuk bertanya dan menjawab pertanyaan sederhana. Hal ini karena guru dari para siswa membatasi fokus tujuan pengajaran pada kemampuan siswa hanya pada penguasaan kosa-kata. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan setelah kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan, para siswa dapat melakukan dialong singkat interaktif dalam bentuk tanya-jawab tentang aktivitas sederhana dengan menggunakan kosakata-kosakata yang sudah mereka kuasai. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa dengan menggunakan kosakata yang sudah dikuasai, siswa mampu menggunakannya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan bicara mereka. Dengan cara demikian, proses peningkatan kemampuan berbicara siswaa secara efektif akan menarik perhatian pelajar selama pembelajaran

Abstract

This study explores the relationship between the real-life Burning Sun scandal and its fictionalized portrayal in the Korean drama “Taxi Driver 2”, specifically focusing on the episode titled "Black Sun." Using the mimetic approach, the research investigates how the drama mirrors real societal issues, including violence, police collusion, celebrity involvement, sexual harassment, and drug use. The Burning Sun scandal, which involved a nightclub in Gangnam, South Korea, became notorious for its links to organized crime, drugs, sexual abuse, and the corruption of law enforcement. The study analyzes key scenes from “Taxi Driver 2”, drawing comparisons between the drama's depiction of the events and the actual incidents that occurred, such as drug use, police inaction, and violent assaults. By examining the dialogue and plot structure in the drama, the research highlights how “Taxi Driver 2” critiques the dark realities of the entertainment industry, particularly the exploitation and abuse within the nightlife scene. Additionally, the study explores the role of K-pop idols in the scandal, which is reflected in the characters portrayed in the drama. This research contributes to the understanding of how real-life events are translated into visual narratives, offering insights into the power of media in shaping public perception and raising awareness about social issues. The findings indicate that “Taxi Driver 2” successfully employs a mimetic approach to replicate key elements of the Burning Sun case, thereby providing a lens through which viewers can critically engage with the ongoing social problems illustrated by the scandal. This research fills a gap in the existing literature by bridging the connection between media representations and real-life societal phenomena, offering a novel perspective on the role of Korean dramas in reflecting social realities.

Abstract

This study analyzes the linguistic and emotional layers of Tulus' song “Gajah”, focusing on speech acts and implicature in the lyrics and their connection to themes of self-acceptance, social stigma, and identity transformation. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive approach, the research combines expressive and pragmatic critique methodologies to explore how the lyrics communicate personal experiences and emotions. The primary data consists of the song's lyrics and supplementary interviews, articles, and reviews about the song’s creation. By employing documentation, observation, and textual analysis, the study examines various speech acts—representative, directive, expressive, declarative, and commissive- and contextual meanings. The analysis shows that Tulus effectively uses language to convey personal and societal experiences, mainly focusing on how childhood ridicule based on his physical appearance evolves into a message of empowerment and acceptance. Furthermore, the study uncovers implicit meanings (implicature) embedded in the lyrics, illustrating the shift of social stigma into a symbol of strength and pride. The findings suggest that Tulus' lyrics represent a personal journey toward self-acceptance and address broader societal issues, urging listeners to reinterpret mockery as a form of hidden praise. By integrating speech act theory and pragmatic implicature analysis, this study demonstrates how “Gajah” is a powerful vehicle for emotional expression and social critique, ultimately conveying a message of solidarity and personal transformation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the manifestation of toponymy in the villages of Timang Gajah District, Bener Meriah, reflecting the close relationship between place names and the social, cultural, historical, and natural aspects of the local community. A qualitative approach was employed, utilizing techniques such as in-depth interviews, observation, recording, and note-taking for data collection. Data were gathered through interviews with local figures, such as the village head (keuchik), tuha 4, tuha 8, and petue, who possess extensive knowledge of the origins of the village names. Data analysis involved selection, classification, and narrative description to uncover the symbolic meanings embedded in the toponymy. The results indicate that the village names in Timang Gajah District can be categorized into four main types: vegetation toponymy, historical toponymy, bestowed toponymy, and geographical toponymy. Vegetation toponymy reflects the community's relationship with their surrounding environment, while historical toponymy links village names to significant events in local history. Bestowed toponymy, associated with administrative decisions and influential community figures, represents social change and aspirations for progress, whereas geographical toponymy serves as a geographical and administrative marker. This study contributes to the development of toponymic studies, demonstrating how place names in Timang Gajah District not only reflect geographical conditions but also involve cultural, historical, and social dynamics that shape the local community's identity.

Abstract

LMS adalah perangkat lunak yang dirancang untuk memproduksi, mendistribusikan, dan mengatur penyampaian materi pembelajaran. Melalui LMS, blended learning akan menjadi lebih efisien dengan menciptakan interaksi yang intens dan membantu guru menentukan pemahaman siswa. Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan dengan metode ceramah dan dilaksanakan dalam empat tahap dalam waktu tiga hari yaitu pada tanggal 27 sampai dengan 29 Oktober 2023, bertempat di SMK Kesehatan Darussalam Lhokseumawe. Pelatihan pembuatan media pembelajaran dalam kegiatan ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan fitur Ruangkelas dalam aplikasi Ruangguru. Ada beberapa tindakan yang dilakukan oleh peneliti dalam melakukan pelatihan, yaitu tahap pertama, peneliti melakukan pengarahan serta penggunaan fitur yang ada dalam aplikasi LMS, tahap kedua, peneliti melakukan pelatihan dalam membuat desain media pembelajaran melalui fitur Ruangkelas dalam aplikasi Ruangguru, tahap ketiga, peneliti melakukan pelatihan dalam membuat e-modul melalui fitur Ruangkelas dalam aplikasi Ruangguru, dan tahap keempat, peneliti membuat rancangan asesmen yang dapat diaplikasikan dalam LMS. Kesimpulannya, penerapan aplikasi learning management system (LMS) dapat dilakukan melalui aplikasi pendukung seperti Ruangguru dan kolaborasi dengan media lain laiknya video pembelajaran sehingga pembelajaran menjadi lebih menyenangkan dan efektif.
