Abstract

Introduction: Wait times for outpatient pharmacy services are an indicator of service quality that influences patient satisfaction and compliance. However, in many hospitals, wait times for both over-the-counter and prescription medications still exceed Ministry of Health standards, with maximum wait times of ≤ 30 minutes for non-prescription medications and ≤ 60 minutes for prescription medications. Objective: To identify factors that influence waiting time for outpatient pharmacy services. Methods: This study used a Systematic Reviews design to identify factors that influence waiting time for outpatient pharmacy services by following the PRISMA guidelines. Results and Discussion: Structural factors contributing to long wait times include suboptimal pharmacy staff ratios, limited technological infrastructure, and limited waiting room capacity. From a process perspective, delays result from manual prescription verification, inefficient workflows, and time-consuming administrative processes. Outcome-wise, long wait times lead to decreased patient satisfaction and potentially decreased medication adherence. Interventions such as the implementation of electronic queuing systems, integration of pharmacy information systems, task redistribution, and service automation have been shown to reduce wait times by 20–50%.  Conclusion: Reducing waiting times requires a comprehensive strategy through structural improvements, process optimization, and continuous monitoring of outputs.

Abstract

Introduction: Anemia in adolescent girls is a public health problem that requires serious attention. One recommended intervention is the regular administration of iron-fortified iron tablets (IBF). Objective: This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the TTD distribution program in Indonesia. Methods: The research method uses a systematic review using the PRISMA guidelines. After deduplication and screening, 10 articles met the inclusion criteria for analysis. Results and Discussion: Health education, cadre empowerment, and school environmental support have been shown to be effective in improving knowledge, attitudes, and some adherence to iron supplement consumption among adolescent girls. Barriers in urban areas include low adherence due to perceived side effects and unsupportive dietary patterns, while in rural areas, the main obstacles are limited access to distribution and healthcare resources. Conclusion: Program success is influenced by communication, resources, implementer disposition, and bureaucratic structure. Therefore, intervention strategies must be tailored to regional characteristics to maximize the effectiveness of anemia prevention in adolescent girls in Indonesia.

Abstract

Introduction: Anemia remains a public health problem in Indonesia, particularly among adolescent girls due to increased iron requirements during growth and menstruation. As an effort to prevent anemia, a national iron supplementation program is implemented in schools, but compliance remains low. Objective: To determine the implementation of iron supplementation in adolescents in urban and rural areas based on a review of the latest literature as an effort to prevent anemia. Methods : A literature review was conducted of publications from 2020–2025 obtained from national and international databases that met the inclusion criteria. Results and Discussion: Distribution coverage in Indonesia is >60%, but compliance ranges from 14–47%. Enabling factors include teacher support, ongoing education, and digital reminders, while barriers include tablet taste/odor, side effects, forgetfulness, and logistical constraints. International studies show that direct supervision can increase compliance to >80% and reduce the prevalence of anemia. Conclusion: Strengthening iron supplementation programs requires prioritizing strategies to increase adherence through school-based approaches, family engagement, digital innovation, and increased ease of consumption.

Abstract

Introduction: Anemia in adolescent girls remains a public health problem in Indonesia, while the Iron Supplement (TTD) program has not been running optimally due to constraints in planning, procurement, and distribution. Systematically reviewing the scientific evidence related to the planning and procurement of TTD for adolescent girls in Indonesia. Methods: This study used a systematic review method based on the PRISMA guidelines. Article searches were conducted through PubMed, Google Scholar, ScienceDirect, DOAJ, and Garuda during the period 2020–2025. Of the 212 articles found, 15 met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed using a narrative approach based on the following themes: program planning, distribution, and compliance. Results : The study results show that the planning and procurement of iron tablets remains inaccurate, distribution is inconsistent, and adolescent girls' compliance with iron tablets remains low. Inhibiting factors include budget delays, weak cross-sectoral coordination, a lack of regional regulations, and minimal education and environmental support. Innovations through teacher empowerment and the use of digital media have been shown to improve knowledge and compliance. Conclusion: Improved data-driven planning, optimized logistics distribution, and innovative educational strategies are needed to increase the effectiveness of the TTD program in reducing the prevalence of anemia among adolescent girls in Indonesia.

Abstract

Prevalence of intestinal worm infection in generall is extremely high in Indonesia among the poor population with poor sanitation. One of the government programs to address this problem is the distribution of medicines to prevent intestinal worm infections. However, the coverage of the achievement for this program is still low in several areas of public health centers in Palembang. Therefore, this study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of the national program for preventing intestinal worm infections. The qualitative research design used evaluation model approach Context, Input, Process, and Product (CIPP) model. This study was conducted in one of health centers in Palembang City. The informants were selected using purposive sampling method. Data collection was done via in-depth interviews, document reviews, and observations. Descriptive content analysis was used to examine and process the collected data. Results showed that, from situational factor, the program is held by the government because of the high prevalence of intestinal worm infection. The study found the input component, limited staff that handles this program. There were limited facilities for the extension of the infrastructure. In the process component, the distribution of the drug albendazole was not optimal in all elementary schools. Four elementary schools did not receive albendazole. This study demonstrated that the implementation of the program was not optimal

Abstract

Vaccination is one of main steps to overcome the continuous increase in the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. However, its implementation is hindered by various responses such as acceptance and refusal. This study aimed to describe the perception of the COVID-19 vaccine in Indonesia. A systematic review design was used, and the literature searches were carried out using Google Scholar, PubMed, Science Direct, and WHO COVID-19 databases following the PRISMA guideline process. The keywords used were coronavirus, COVID-19, vaccination, COVID-19 vaccination, vaccine response, vaccine acceptance, vaccine perception, and Indonesia in English or Indonesian articles published in 2020-2021. This study discovered 13 sample articles including six qualitative and seven cross-sectional studies. The responses showed varying results divided into positive, indicating vaccine acceptance, and negative responses that made hesitations to refusal. People with a good response and perception considered the vaccine an antibody to fight the virus. Meanwhile, others who hesitated or rejected were due to their concerns about side effects, safety, and effectiveness. Furthermore, inaccurate information or hoaxes circulating in the community significantly influence people's perceptions.
