Abstract

Uji Spearman menunjukkan nilai p = 0,022 tingkat stres dan strategi koping (a=0,05). Kesimpulan: Terdapat hubungan tingkat stres dan strategi koping mahasiswa keperawatan dalam menyusun asuhan keperawatan dipraktik klinik

Abstract

Introduction: Fatigue is a common, persistent, and significant secondary symptom in Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) patients undergoing Hemodialysis (HD) as renal replacement therapy. This symptom substantially lowers patients' quality of life and is an urgent nursing problem. Although conventional management is pharmacological, non-pharmacological complementary interventions are increasingly considered as safe and effective adjuvant therapies. Scientific evidence regarding the types and effectiveness of these interventions remains scattered. Objective: This study aims to explore and synthesize the literature on the types and effectiveness of complementary therapies used as interventions to reduce fatigue in CKD patients after hemodialysis procedures. Methods: This scoping review was conducted to map the available evidence from four databases (ScienceDirect, PubMed, Garuda, and Scholar). The inclusion criteria were original, full-text, open-access articles published in the last five years (2021–2025) discussing interventions to address post-HD fatigue. Articles that passed the screening were assessed for quality using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Critical Appraisal Checklist. Data synthesis and analysis were performed to summarize the findings. Results: Five articles meeting the eligibility criteria were identified and synthesized. Complementary interventions proven effective in reducing post-HD fatigue include: Intradialytic Exercise, Relaxation Exercise, Foot Reflexology, smartphone-based Recreational Therapy, and a combination of Lavender Aromatherapy with Slow Deep Breathing. Intradialytic Exercise showed the highest effectiveness, with up to an 81% reduction in fatigue symptoms when performed aerobically (>20 minutes during the first 2 hours of the HD session). Relaxation Exercise also showed a huge effect size. The mechanisms of effectiveness for these interventions involve improved blood circulation, reduced stress and muscle tension, and improved energy balance. Conclusion: There is strong evidence for the effectiveness of various types of non-pharmacological complementary therapies as adjunct treatments in the management of fatigue in post-hemodialysis CKD patients. Integrating these interventions, particularly Intradialytic Exercise and Relaxation Exercise, is recommended to be included in routine nursing care protocols to enhance the quality of life for HD patients..

Abstract

Air pollution is a significant environmental health threat, particularly to the respiratory system in densely populated urban areas such as Semarang. Public understanding of the impacts and prevention of air pollution is key to respiratory health protection efforts. This study aims to analyze the level of public knowledge in Semarang City regarding efforts to prevent the impact of air pollution on respiratory health. This study used a quantitative descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach involving 100 respondents selected through purposive sampling technique with criteria of residing in Semarang and aged ≥18 years. Data were collected using structured questionnaires covering knowledge about air pollution causes, health impacts, and prevention strategies. Data analysis used descriptive statistics in the form of frequency distribution and percentages as well as Chi-Square test to identify relationships between variables. The results showed that the majority of respondents, 95%, had good knowledge about air pollution and its prevention efforts, while 5% had adequate knowledge, and no respondents had poor knowledge. This high level of knowledge was influenced by education level where 55% of respondents were university graduates, productive age with 67% of respondents aged less than 35 years, and length of residence in Semarang City with 62% of respondents having lived for more than 10 years. This study concludes that the community of Semarang City has good knowledge about efforts to prevent the impact of air pollution on respiratory health, and this knowledge serves as a foundation for the formation of better preventive attitudes and behaviors in facing air pollution threats.

Abstract

Clinical practice is a crucial stage in nursing education that requires students to apply theoretical knowledge in real healthcare settings. The transition to a clinical environment often triggers anxiety, as students face competency demands, professional responsibilities, and direct interactions with patients. This study aims to determine the anxiety levels of fifth-semester nursing students prior to clinical practice at Universitas Muhammadiyah Semarang. A descriptive quantitative design was employed with a sample of 35 students selected using a simple random sampling technique. Data were collected using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) and analyzed descriptively with Microsoft Excel to obtain frequency and percentage distributions. The results showed that most students experienced severe anxiety (31%), followed by moderate (29%), mild (23%), no anxiety (14%), and panic-level anxiety (3%). These findings indicate that the majority of nursing students experience anxiety before clinical practice, predominantly at severe and moderate levels. Therefore, psychological support and mental preparation programs are essential to help students transition optimally into the clinical environment.
