Abstract

This research aims to obtain the correct dose of Tithonia diversifolia compost and cow manure for the growth and yield of leeks (Allium fistulosum L). This research was carried out in the Green House of the Agroindustry Department, Sijunjung campus, Padang State University, Sijunjung Regency at an altitude of + 450 meters above sea level. The design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 6 treatments and 3 replications so there were 18 experimental samples. The treatments in this experiment were P0: control, P1: 55 grams of compost, P2: 65 g of compost, P3: 75 g of compost, P4: 85 g of compost, P5: 95 g of compost. The research data were analyzed using 5% anova and continued with the DMRT test. The parameters observed were plant height, number of tillers, number of tillers, number of leaves per cluster, leaf length, leaf width, cluster diameter, total plant weight. The results of the research showed that the application of Titonia diversifolia compost and cow manure had an effect on the growth of leek plants with the highest average plant height being 45 cm, namely in the 85 g treatment, the highest number of tillers was 4.33, namely in the 85 g treatment.  Keywords: Tithonia diversifolia, cow manure, spring onions INTISARIPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan dosis kompos Tithonia diversifolia dan pupuk kandang sapi yang tepat untuk pertumbuhan dan hasil bawang daun (Allium fistulosum L). Penelitian ini dilaksanakn di Green House Departemen Agroindustri kampus Sijunjung, Universitas Negeri Padang, Kabupaten Sijunjung dengan ketinggian + 450 mdpl. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 6 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan sehingga ada 18 sampel percobaan. Perlakuan dalam percoban ini adalah P0: kontrol, P1: 55 gram kompos, P2: 65 g kompos, P3: 75 g kompos, P4: 85 g kompos, P5: 95 g kompos. Data hasil penelitian dianalisis menggunakan anova 5% dan dilanjutkan uji DMRT. Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, jumlah anakan, jumlah daun per-anakan, jumlah daun per- rumpun, panjang daun, lebar daun, diameter rumpun, bobot total tanaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian kompos Titonia diversifolia dan pupuk kandang sapi berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman bawang daun dengan rata-rata tinggi tanaman yang tertinggi adalah 45 cm, yaitu pada perlakuan 85 g, jumlah anakan terbanyak 4,33, yaitu pada perlakuan 85 g. Kata kunci: bawang daun, pupuk kandang sapi, Tithonia diversifolia

Abstract

Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) is one of the fruit vegetables that is widely consumed by the people of Indonesia. The low production of cucumber in Indonesia is caused by several factors including climatic factors, farming methods such as tillage, fertilization, irrigation, and pests and diseases. The right solution to overcome these problems and increase cucumber production in Indonesia is the Hydroponic farming technique. Hydroponics is a way of growing plants without using soil as a place to grow plants but using water or other porous materials such as gravel, sand, husk charcoal and tile fragments as planting media. Hydroponic cultivation uses AB Mix solution as a source of nutrients for plants. AB Mix solution is a specially formulated fertilizer from mineral salts that can be dissolved in water containing important nutrients needed by hydroponic plants. This research was conducted from May to August 2023. The research was conducted at Blasta Urban Farming Padang which is located at Jl. Bunda Raya No. 6 Ulak karang Utara, Padang. The design used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 3 treatments and 10 replicates so that 30 experimental samples were obtained. The treatments given in this study were A = 250 ml nutrient + water (800 ppm), B = 150 ml nutrient + water (400 ppm), C = 400 ml nutrient + water (1,200 ppm). The research data were analyzed using anova table and continued with BNJ further test. The parameters observed were flower emergence time, plant height, number of leaves, number of flowers per plant, number of fruits per plant, weight per fruit.  Keywords: ab mix solution concentration, cucumber, hydroponic

Abstract

Pakcoy (Brassica chinensis L.) is one type of vegetable that has many benefits, and this plant is one of the commodities with high economic value. Pakcoy plant production is still low because Indonesian people have not cultivated it much because there are several obstacles faced, one of which is soil fertility. In general, to overcome soil fertility, farmers usually only apply inorganic fertilizers. The main purpose for applying inorganic fertilizers is to increase the availability of nutrients quickly in the soil so that it can meet the nutrient needs of plants, but by applying inorganic fertilizers it cannot improve the physical and biological properties of the soil, and when using inorganic fertilizers it can damage the soil. The purpose of this study was to determine the growth response of pakcoy plants to the application of fruit waste POC. The research was conducted in the experimental garden of the Department of Agroindustry, Padang State University in Sijunjung Regency with an altitude of ±450 meters above sea level. This research was conducted in April  - June 2023. The design used in this study was a Randomized Group Design (RAK) with 4 treatments and 6 replicates totaling 24 experimental samples. The treatments given in this study were P0 control (without treatment), P1 150 ml/L water POC fruits, P2 250 ml/L water POC fruits, P3 350 ml/L water POC fruits. The research data were analyzed using anova table 5% and continued with DMRT further test. The parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, leaf width, stump diameter, and wet weight. Based on the results of the research on the growth response of pakcoy (Brassica chinensis L.) plants to the application of liquid organic fertilizer (POC) fruits, it can be concluded that the P2 treatment (250 ml / plant) produces the highest average value in plant height growth which is 28 cm, the number of leaves is 23 strands, leaf width is 9 cm, the diameter of the stem is 20 cm, and the wet weight of the plant is 138 grams. While the lowest average value is in the P0 treatment (without giving POC / control) which produces plant height growth of 24 cm, the number of leaves is 15 strands, the width of the leaves is 7 cm, the diameter of the stem is 18 cm and the wet weight of the plant is 87 grams. Keywords: growth, pakcoy, poc, fruit waste, organic

Abstract

Kenagarian Situjuh Gadang merupakan sebuah nagari yang memiliki potensi besar dalam sektor pertanian, dengan ubi kayu sebagai komoditas utama. Namun, limbah ubi kayu yang dihasilkan masih belum terkelola secara optimal dan memiliki eksternalitas negative terhadap lingkungan. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan ini, solusi berbasis circular economy diusulkan, yaitu mengubah limbah ubi kayu menjadi pupuk organik yang bermanfaat bagi pertanian dan lingkungan. Dengan menggunakan metode learning by action, pengabdian kepada masyarakat Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) ini berupa pelatihan kepada petani ubi kayu telah dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan dalam pengolahan limbah menjadi pupuk organik. Dengan solusi ini, diharapkan dapat mengurangi pencemaran, meningkatkan keberlanjutan pertanian, serta memberikan nilai tambah ekonomi bagi masyarakat setempat. Kata kunci— Pengabdian Masyarakat, Peningkatan Kualitas Lingkungan, Limbah Ubi Kayu Abstract Kenagarian Situjuh Gadang is a nagari that has great potential in the agricultural sector, with cassava as the main commodity. However, the cassava waste produced is still not managed optimally and has negative externalities to the environment. To overcome this problem, a circular economy-based solution is proposed, namely converting cassava waste into organic fertilizer that is beneficial to agriculture and the environment. By using the learning by action method, community service by Universitas Negeri Padang (UNP) in the form of training for cassava farmers has been carried out to improve understanding and skills in processing waste into organic fertilizer. With this solution, it is hoped that it can reduce pollution, improve agricultural sustainability, and provide economic added value for the local community. Abstract

About 20% of women and 5-10% of men in the world have experienced sexual violence in childhood. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of education on knowledge about sexual violence in children at SDN Sudiang Makassar. This type of research is descriptive research with a Quasi experiment one groub pre and post test approach. the sample in this study were class V students as many as 36 respondents with total sampling technique. Data collection using questionnaire sheets. Data analysis using wilcoxon statistical test with a significant level of α = 0.05. Before giving education about sexual violence, the average knowledge of respondents on good knowledge was 8 students (22.2%), sufficient knowledge was 16 students (44.4%) and less knowledge was 12 students (33.3%) and after giving education about sexual violence in children, the average knowledge of children on good knowledge was 32 students (88.9%) and sufficient knowledge was 4 students (11.1%). The results of data analysis regarding the effect of providing education on sexual violence in children obtained a P-Value of 0.000 which means the Sig value <0.00 so that it can be interpreted that there is an effect of providing education on increasing students' knowledge about sexual violence in children. The conclusion in this study is that there is an effect of providing education on increasing female students' knowledge about sexual violence in children.

Abstract

Antibiotik profilaksis diberikan untuk mencegah Infeksi Daerah Operasi (IDO) Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pola penggunaan antibiotik profilaksis terhadap angka kejadian IDO. Penelitian cross-sectional ini menggunakan data medical record dan pengamatan langsung. Observasi IDO diamati secara langsung luka pascaoperasi, yang pertama diruang perawatan pada saat ganti perban, observasi kedua dilakukan di poliklinik bedah pada saat kontrol berulang. Infeksi Daerah Operasi diklasifikasikan menjadi tiga jenis, yaitu IDO insisional superfisial, IDO insisional dalam, IDO organ/rongga. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan angka kejadian IDO pada pasien bedah digestif sebesar 17,5% memenuhi kriteria diagnosa IDO superficial. IDO ditemukan paling cepat hari ketiga dan paling lama pada hari kelima pasca operasi. Jenis antibiotik profilaksis dan lama penggunaan antibiotik profilaksis tidak mempunyai hubungan bermakna terhadap angka kejadian IDO (p>0,05). Akan terapi waktu pemberian antibiotik mempunyai hubungan bermakna terhadap angka kejadian IDO (p<0,05).

This research investigates the influence of endorsers on brand image formation within the realm of social media, focusing on the roles played by celebrities, influencers, experts, and everyday consumers. With the increasing integration of social media into marketing strategies, understanding how different types of endorsers impact brand perception has become crucial. This study explores the effectiveness of various endorsers, evaluates their authenticity, and examines the implications of emerging trends such as the rise of virtual influencers and the use of data analytics. Key findings reveal that authenticity and relatability are paramount in modern endorsement strategies, with micro-influencers and everyday consumers providing significant value through their genuine connections with audiences. Celebrity endorsements continue to enhance brand visibility but require careful management due to potential risks. Expert endorsements remain influential in credibility-sensitive sectors, reinforcing the importance of authoritative voices. The research also highlights the growing significance of virtual influencers and the integration of AI and data analytics in optimizing endorsement strategies. Additionally, the study underscores the rising importance of social responsibility in endorsement practices, reflecting consumers' increasing preference for brands that align with ethical values and societal causes.

Abstract

The most common profession among Surian people is in the agricultural sector, such as tomato farmers. The farmers who are partners in PKM activities are tomato farmers in Nagari Surian, Pantai Cermin District, Solok Regency. Tomato farmers often experience losses because when the tomato harvest season arrives the product is abundant, while demand is constant. Farmers will just let the tomatoes rot because the harvesting process will take up a lot of energy and money. This activity focuses on efforts to control the quality of post-harvest tomatoes by using a coating technique based on edible natural ingredients (edible coating) with the natural ingredient aloe vera. The stages of this activity are divided into three activities, namely initial activities which include analysis of partner needs, core (providing material and practice) and final (program evaluation). Based on the results of a questionnaire given to partners as many as 20 people with an age range of 25 – 46 years and consisting of men and women, 90% of participants agreed that this edible coating could be used to solve the problem of tomatoes that rot easily after harvest.

Abstract

Nagari Paninjauan, located on the slopes of Mount Marapi in West Sumatra, faces significant agricultural challenges, particularly due to rising chemical fertilizer costs, which affect productivity and farmers' welfare. High dependency on chemical fertilizers has also harmed soil health and the environment. To address this, a community service team from UNP held a training on producing organic liquid fertilizer (POC) tailored for various plant growth stages, such as soil enhancement, vegetative, and generative phases, as well as making organic growth regulators, fungicides, and insecticides. The training included material presentation, hands-on practice, and application in farming fields. Results showed participants’ understanding of POC production rose from 43.8% to 86.7%, and awareness of agricultural waste’s economic value also improved. Although the training effectively increased farmers' skills in independently producing POC, further strategies are needed to enhance understanding of technical materials for greater environmental and economic impact. Abstract

ABSTRAK Ekstrak cair kunyit dan kulit buah naga merah untuk mendeteksi atom boron yang terkandung dalam larutan boraks. Tujuan dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah penerapan teori ikatan kimia yang dilakukan oleh siswa-siswi SMA N 1 Sungai Rotan dan mengetahui prinsip dasar deteksi senyawa kimia berbahaya boraks oleh kedua bahan alam tersebut. Hasil demonstrasi menunjukan bahwa warna ekstrak cair kulit buah naga merah dan kunyit sebelum dan sesudah direaksikan dengan larutan boraks mengalami perubahan warna. Hal ini menunjukan adanya ikatan kimia antara atom boron (dalam larutan boraks) dengan struktur kimia antosianin dan antara atom boron dengan struktur kimia kurkumin serta dapat sebagai dasar deteksi senyawa kimia berbahaya boraks. Kata Kunci: Antosianin, Kurkumin, Boraks, Demonstrasi  ABSTRACT To find boron atoms in a borax solution, use a liquid extract of turmeric and red dragon fruit peel. The purpose of this community service is the application of chemical bonding theory carried out by students of SMA N 1 Sungai Rotan and to learn the basic principles of detecting hazardous chemical compounds of borax by both natural materials. The demonstration's findings demonstrated that the liquid extract of turmeric and red dragon fruit peel changed color both before and after reacting with the borax solution. This indicates the presence of a chemical bond between boron atoms (in borax solution) with the chemical structure of anthocyanin and between boron atoms with the chemical structure of curcumin. This fact can be used as a basis for detecting the dangerous chemical compound borax. Keywords: Anthocyanin, Curcumin; Borax, Demonstration
