Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Purpose: This community service activity aims to introduce and enhance the understanding of green accounting among micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in aquaculture, particularly fish farmers in Desa Cogreg, Kecamatan Parung, Bogor. The purpose is to increase accounting literacy, integrate environmental aspects into financial recording, promote cost efficiency, and raise awareness of business sustainability. Methodology/approach: The activity used a participatory–educative approach involving 25 fish farmers, with observation and interviews in the preparation stage, followed by counseling, discussions, and distribution of a simple FCR module. Evaluation focused on participants’ responses and their needs for further training and mentoring. Results/findings: The counseling increased participants’ understanding of green accounting. Although unfamiliar, they recognized existing eco-friendly practices—water reuse, feed efficiency, and sludge utilization—as recordable financial activities. Findings revealed a gap between ecological awareness and accounting documentation, emphasizing the need for recording formats Conclusions: The program found that green accounting in MSMEs remains at a pre-integration stage, with environmental awareness present but lacking systematic documentation. The activity improved initial literacy, though sustained mentoring and simple tools are still needed, and the study was limited by a small sample and short observation period. Limitations: This activity was limited by a small sample size, a single location, and a short observation period, which restricted the generalizability and long-term evaluation of the results. Contribution: This program links green accounting theory with MSME aquaculture practices, offering a community service model that supports sustainability and provides a replicable framework for similar future interventions.

Abstract

This study examines the differences between male and female leadership in the SMEs sector. It investigates the influence of innovative work behaviour preceded by psychological empowerment on competitive advantage in each dimension. This study uses a quantitative approach to distribute questionnaires to 254 Indonesian SMEs. Path analysis was used in this study by calculating factor loading, composite reliability, Average Variance Extracted (AVE), discriminant validity, and the structural model. To analyse the differences between female and male entrepreneurs, this study employs multi-group analysis, which can explain the phenomenon of this research. These findings explain that psychological empowerment has been found to increase innovative work behaviour, and innovative work behaviour has also been found to mediate the relationship between psychological empowerment and dimensions of competitive advantage. In addition, female leadership is superior in terms of time to market, where innovative employees led by a woman will develop new products faster to enter the market. On the other hand, male leadership is superior in the delivery dependability dimension, where innovative employees led by a man prioritise speed and responsiveness in serving customers.

Abstract

Sustainability has become an important requirement for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in the production and manufacturing sectors amid resource constraints, increasing waste generation, and rapid technological development. This study aims to examine the relationship between Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM), digital technology, and the sustainable performance of MSMEs, with operational efficiency serving as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach with an explanatory research design was employed, involving 100 MSME owners selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that GSCM and digital technology contribute to improved operational efficiency, with coefficients of 0.421 and 0.386, respectively. GSCM and digital technology also contribute to sustainable performance, with coefficients of 0.218 and 0.241, while operational efficiency demonstrates the strongest contribution, with a coefficient of 0.447. Operational efficiency partially mediates the relationships between GSCM and digital technology and sustainable performance, with indirect effects of 0.188 and 0.173, respectively. These findings demonstrate that integrating green supply chain practices and digital technology, supported by operational efficiency, can strengthen the economic, social, and environmental performance of MSMEs and contribute to their long-term sustainability.

Abstract

Background: The development of the digital economy has driven significant transformation in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), yet there remains a gap in the utilization of digital technologies that results in suboptimal business performance. Objective: This study aims to analyze the effect of digital transformation and dynamic capabilities on the business performance of digital-based MSMEs. Method: The research employs a quantitative approach using purposive sampling involving 150 MSME actors, with data analysis conducted through Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Results: The findings indicate that digital transformation has a positive and significant effect on business performance, while dynamic capabilities have a stronger influence in enhancing MSME business performance. In addition, dynamic capabilities strengthen the relationship between digital transformation and business performance, suggesting that the success of digital transformation is not solely determined by technology adoption but also by the organization’s ability to adapt, innovate, and effectively manage resources. Therefore, the integration of digital transformation and dynamic capabilities becomes a key factor in improving the competitiveness and sustainability of MSMEs in the digital era.

Abstract

Background: Digital transformation has become a strategic factor in enhancing the competitiveness of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) amid the rapid development of the digital economy. However, the utilization of digital technology alone has not been sufficient to improve competitive advantage without adequate innovation capability. Objective: This study aims to analyze the effect of digital transformation on MSME competitive advantage, both directly and through the mediating role of innovation capability. Method: This study employs a quantitative approach with an explanatory design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 120 MSME actors who have adopted digital technology, using purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using Structural Equation Modeling based on Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Results: The findings indicate that digital transformation contributes to enhancing both competitive advantage and innovation capability. Furthermore, innovation capability strengthens competitive advantage and partially mediates the relationship between digital transformation and competitive advantage. These findings highlight that the integration of digitalization and innovation is a key factor in sustaining MSME competitiveness in the digital era.

Abstract

Client loyalty in business-to-business (B2B) professional services depends not only on the competence possessed by service employees but also on whether that competence is translated into performance that clients can observe and value. This study develops a process explanation of competence, performance, and client loyalty in the context of PT Alfa Dinamis Indonesia, a provider of professional training and human-resource services. To align the research claims with the available evidence, the study is positioned as a qualitative documentary and theory-building single-case analysis rather than an interview-based qualitative study. The evidence base consists of organizational documents and service descriptions, documented organizational observations, client-retention phenomena reported in the source study, and secondary interpretation of an earlier survey of 75 corporate clients. The case-based analysis suggests four analytical propositions: competence is an enabling capability rather than a sufficient loyalty condition; performance is the client-visible realization of competence; loyalty develops through accumulated performance experiences; and sustainable loyalty requires competence to be institutionalized across employees and projects. Building on these propositions, the article introduces a provisional Competence-to-Performance Translation Mechanism (CPTM), linking employee competence, performance translation, experienced client value, relationship confidence, and client loyalty. The framework contributes by distinguishing value potential from value realization and by connecting human-capital logic with B2B relationship-value and trust perspectives. Because the present evidence does not include primary qualitative interviews, CPTM is advanced as an emerging theory-building framework requiring subsequent multi-informant empirical validation
