Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengetahuan, kemampuan, faktor yang mempengaruhi serta hambatan yang dihadapi mahasiswa IAIN Padangsidimpuan dalam memanfaatkan Institutional Repository (IR). Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa IAIN Padangsidimpuan lebih banyak mengetahui Institutional Repository (IR) dari Word of Mouth Communication daripada melalui kegiatan User education, ini berarti melalui Word of Mouth Communication  ini efektif dalam menyampaikan informasi.Kemampuan mahasiswa IAIN Padangsidimpuan dalam memanfaatkan Institutional Repository (IR) adalah mampu dilihat dari pencarian informasi menggunakan pencarian spesifik lebih dominan menggunakan pencarian berdasarkan subyek dan divisi. Faktor yang mendorong mahasiswa IAIN Padangsidimpuan memanfaatkan Institutional Repository (IR) kemudahan dalam akses, efisien waktu, fitur-fitur yang mudah dipahami, memenuhi tugas kuliah, pandemi Covid-19 dan open access. Hambatan yang dihadapi mahasiswa IAIN Padangsidimpuan dalam memanfaatkan Institutional Repository (IR) yaitu repository yang tiba-tiba error, kuota/jaringan mahasiswa IAIN Padangsidimpuan. Dari temuan ini dapat diketahui bahwa perpustakaan terkhususnya perpustakaan perguruan tinggi harus lebih meningkatkan pelatihan, workshop yang kreatif dan inovasi tentang Institutional Repository.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran video guna meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa kelas II di Mis An-Nur Pagar Merbau. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Research and Development (RnD) dengan model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluasi). Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 20 siswa kelas II yang menjadi objek penelitian. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, angket, dan tes, dengan analisis data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran video yang dikembangkan mendapat hasil yang sangat positif, dengan validasi media mencapai 98% (kategori “Sangat Layak”), validasi materi juga mencapai 98% (kategori “Sangat Layak”), respons guru memperoleh 95% (kategori “Sangat Baik”), dan respons siswa mencapai 90,5% (kategori “Sangat Baik”). Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran video ini efektif dan layak digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca permulaan siswa.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low descriptive text writing skills of seventh-grade junior high school students, which is caused by the use of conventional teaching methods and the lack of innovative learning media. This research aims to develop PBL-based LKPD on descriptive text material for seventh-grade students. The method used is research and development using the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). The research subjects were 25 students from class VII A at SMP Swasta IRA. The data collection techniques are observation, interviews, questionnaires, and tests. Data were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively through expert validation, questionnaires, and N-gain tests. The research results indicate that the developed LKPD was deemed very feasible by material experts at 92%, media experts at 90%, and language experts at 97%. The practicality level of the LKPD also received very practical results, with teacher responses at 92% and student responses at 83.68%. Additionally, the effectiveness testing results showed an improvement in students' writing skills, with an average N-gain of 0.56 in the moderate category. This research shows that PBL-based LKPD can be an alternative teaching material that supports a more active and creative learning process. This research also contributes to the development of teaching media in language education, as well as opening opportunities for further research in the development of other interactive teaching materials on different subjects or levels.

Abstract

The beginning reading ability of grade 1 students at SD Negeri 105384 Pisang Pala is still low. This study aims to determine the effect of using Big Book media on improving students’ beginning reading skills. The study used a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design involving 25 students as samples. Data analysis techniques included the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, homogeneity test, and paired sample t-test. The results showed that the data were normally distributed (Sig. pretest = 0.074 > 0.05; Sig. posttest = 0.014 > 0.05), homogeneous (Sig. = 0.042 < 0.05), and there was a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (Sig. (2-tailed) = 0.000 < 0.05) with an average pretest score of 49.60 and posttest score of 82.00. These findings indicate that Big Book media effectively improves students’ beginning reading skills because it can attract interest in learning and facilitate understanding through attractive image visualization. Therefore, it is recommended as an alternative learning media in lower grades. This research implores the importance of using engaging and visual-based learning media to develop students’ beginning reading skills, especially in lower grades, which require a more interactive approach. Furthermore, the results of this study can serve as a basis for teachers to be more creative in selecting learning media that can enhance student interest and motivation. This research also opens opportunities for developing other visual-based learning media that can be tailored to the needs of students in primary education.

Abstract

Analytical skills in understanding and interpreting news texts are essential in Indonesian language learning, particularly in shaping students’ critical thinking. Initial observations at SMP Negeri 29 Medan indicated that students still tended to understand texts literally and had difficulty distinguishing between facts and opinions. This study aims to determine the effect of the Team Accelerated Instruction (TAI) learning model on the analytical skills of seventh-grade students in interpreting news texts. The research employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental design. The sample consisted of 32 students from class VII-8, selected using the quota sampling technique. The instrument used was a multiple-choice test measuring the ability to identify facts and opinions, understand text structure, and evaluate the content of information. The results showed an increase in the average score from 48.91 to 70.31. The normality test indicated a normal data distribution (p > 0.05), and the paired t-test showed a significant difference (p = 0.000). The average N-Gain score of the 32 students was 0.4452, which falls into the “moderate” improvement category. These findings indicate that the TAI model not only significantly improves students’ analytical abilities but also contributes theoretically to supporting cooperative learning approaches based on social constructivism. Practically, TAI can serve as an alternative strategy for strengthening critical literacy in Indonesian language learning aligned with the Kurikulum Merdeka.

Abstract

Gerakan pengembangan literasi dalam menulis karya sastra merupakan upaya strategis yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, kreativitas, dan kemampuan berbahasa pada anak sejak dini. Penelitian atau program ini dirancang untuk membangun budaya literasi penulisan sastra di kalangan anak-anak di Desa Karang Anyar dengan pendekatan edukasi dan partisipatif. Teknik yang diterapkan antara lain pelatihan menulis, pendampingan kreatif, dan penyelenggaraan acara untuk menghargai karya sastra. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan peningkatan minat dan keterampilan anak dalam menulis cerpen, puisi, dan karya sastra lainnya. Selain itu, upaya ini juga berhasil menciptakan ruang ekspresi dan komunikasi positif bagi anak-anak di desa. Gerakan literasi ini merupakan langkah nyata menuju pengenalan sastra dalam kehidupan anak dan pembentukan generasi muda yang berbudaya dan melek huruf.

Abstract

Many students struggle to write systematic observation reports due to a weak understanding of text structure and idea development techniques. Based on these problems, this study aims to analyze the effect of implementing mind mapping techniques as an alternative writing learning strategy. The study used a quantitative approach, a quasi-experimental design, and a Nonequivalent Control Group design. Two classes were included as samples: class VIII-4 (experimental) and VIII-5 (control). In the learning process, mind mapping techniques were used in the experimental class, while the control class used a conventional approach. Data were obtained from writing tests and then analyzed using statistical tests. The pretest results showed that the initial abilities of both groups were relatively balanced (control 67.4 and experimental 67.12).Meanwhile, the posttest scores showed a higher increase in the experimental class (80.89) compared to the control class (77.07). These findings indicate that using mind mapping positively impacts students' writing skills, especially in identifying main ideas and organizing texts systematically. This study implies that mind mapping can be an effective alternative learning strategy in junior high schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa scrapbook pada siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 8 Medan untuk mengetahui responden siswa kelas XI setelah melakukan proses pembelajaran dengan menggunakan media scrapbook. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Research and Development dengan model ADDIE meliputi lima tahap: tahap analysis, tahap design, tahap development , tahap implementation dan tahap evaluation. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 8 Medan yang berjumlah 36 orang. Hasil uji ahli materi menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran scrapbook memperoleh nilai 100% dengan kategori “sangat layak”. Hasil uji ahli bahasa menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran scrapbook memperoleh nilai 93% dengan kategori “sangat layak”. Hasil uji ahli materi menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran scrapbook memperoleh nilai 90% dengan kategori “sangat layak”. Media pembelajaran scrapbook berdasarkan respon peserta didik kelompok kecil mendapatkan 91,6% dengan kategori “sangat baik”, kelompok besar mendapatkan 93,3% dengan kategori “sangat baik”. Kemudian respon guru bahasa Indonesia terhadap media pembelajaran scrapbook sebesar 90% dengan kategori “sangat praktis”. Keefektifan media pembelajaran scrapbook berdasarkan hasil nilai rata-rata pretest siswa sebesar 51%, sedangkan nilai rata-rata posttest siswa sebesar 86%. Hasil N – gain mendapatkan skor 0,71% dengan kategori “tinggi”. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa media pembelajaran scrapbook dapat menjadi alternatif inovatif yang efektif dalam meningkatkan kreativitas menulis cerpen.

Abstract

This study aims to develop smart lapbook media as a learning tool to improve the ability to write narrative essays. The method used is research and development (R&D) with the ADDIE model. The subjects of the study were fifth grade students in Deli Serdang Regency, with development stages that included expert validation, limited trials, and effectiveness tests. The results showed that the smart lapbook media met the criteria of very valid based on expert assessments of media, materials and language; very practical based on teacher and student responses; and very effective in improving narrative writing skills as seen from the increase in pretest and posttest scores. This media helps students understand the structure of narrative texts through attractive visual displays, while encouraging student motivation and creativity in writing. These findings indicate that smart lapbook media is an effective alternative learning media in overcoming difficulties in learning to write at the Elementary School level. The implications of this study are expected to be used as an example and developed into a more useful media to create a meaningful learning process.
