Abstract

This research is motivated by the problem of uneven bandwidth distribution in hotspot internet services at Oey Alycia Resto & Cafe, which negatively affects connection quality for users. The purpose of this study is to design and implement a bandwidth limitation-based hotspot internet system by applying a Fair Usage Policy (FUP) using Mikrotik devices, in order to achieve fair and efficient internet access distribution. The research method includes network requirement analysis, network topology design, Mikrotik RouterOS configuration, and system performance testing through direct observation and user questionnaires. The system implementation involves hotspot user authentication, per-user bandwidth allocation, and automatic speed reduction when data usage exceeds the predefined FUP threshold. The results show that the implemented system effectively limits excessive bandwidth usage by individual users, improves network stability, and ensures equitable internet access for all hotspot users. Furthermore, questionnaire results indicate positive user responses regarding improved internet service quality after the application of FUP. This research implies that the proposed system enhances the effectiveness of hotspot bandwidth management and can serve as a practical solution for public network administrators in optimizing bandwidth usage in a fair and controlled manner.

Abstract

This study addresses the persistent difficulty Indonesian secondary students face in grasping abstract molecular geometry concepts, exacerbated by the limited adoption of immersive technologies in local curricula. We developed the AR-MO (Augmented Reality-Based Molecular) instructional model using a six-stage Design Science Research (DSR) approach, spanning from problem identification to the communication of results. The model’s effectiveness was evaluated among 349 students across 15 public high schools in Tangerang using a pre-test/post-test design, with data analyzed through descriptive statistics and category-shift mapping. Results indicate a significant enhancement in cognitive understanding, attitudes, and practical skills, with nine schools completely eliminating "Fair" performance categories in favor of "Good" and "Very Good". User satisfaction and usability scores exceeded 90%, confirming the model's acceptance. The novelty of AR-MO lies in its structured integration of 3D visualization within a constructivist framework tailored for the Indonesian secondary education context

Abstract

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), coronary heart disease is the biggest cause of death in Indonesia. In 2016, the death rate from heart disease was 122 people per 100,000 population. This figure is higher than other causes, such as stroke, tuberculosis, and diabetes. The number is increasing every year due to changes in lifestyle of Indonesian people who like to eat high-fat foods and lifestyle factors that affect the risk of cardiovascular disease, including lack of physical activity, smoking, unhealthy diet, and alcohol consumption habits. This study aims to monitor the heart rate of cardiovascular sufferers with the mobile internet of things (MIoT) approach. Using the ESP8266 Wifi module for communication to the database server and heart rate sensor to detect heart rate then convert it to Bit per Minute (BPM). Every patient with cardiovascular disease can be monitored using a sensor connected to a smartphone to record any changes that occur. The research method consists of several stages, namely: Prepare, Plan, Design, Implement, Operate and Optimize (PPDIOO). The results obtained in the form of a aplication heart rate monitoring for patients with cardiovascular for healthcare services.

Abstract

Assessing drought risk in equatorial urban hydrosystems presents a critical challenge for water resource management and climate adaptation. This study applies Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) deep learning models to forecast meteorological drought in Palembang, which is a low-lying, tidally-influenced metropolitan area in Indonesia, using a 30-year monthly rainfall dataset (1993–2024) from three monitoring stations. Models were developed to predict the Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) across short-term (SPI-1), medium-term (SPI-3), and longer-term (SPI-6) timescales. While LSTM showed a marginal overall performance advantage over RNN, the study's principal finding is the significant spatial heterogeneity in drought risk across the three stations, a signal physically linked to localized land use, soil properties, and hydro-climatic conditions. Model predictability was highest for SPI-3, consistent with the region's dominant monsoon cycle, while lower SPI-6 performance highlights the limitations of a univariate approach in the presence of large-scale drivers such as the El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO). Forecasts for 2025–2026 reveal three distinct risk profiles: a consistent drying trend at one station, increased rainfall volatility at another, and relative stability at the third. These findings demonstrate that effective drought management in complex equatorial regions requires localized, station-specific early warning systems rather than uniform city-wide approaches.
