Abstract

The importance of reading as a basis for honing human abilities. Reading is a fundamental basic skill, becoming the basic foundation for various aspects of life, including learning, understanding, and personal development as well as improving language comprehension. Strong reading skills enable a person to master a field of study, access a lot of information, and broaden their horizons. The purpose of this study is so that researchers can invite readers to apply the mindset that reading plays a very important role in honing human abilities. Learning to read must be applied early on, and made a habit. Even though you can read, if you don't use it and don't make it a habit, it's useless. If someone can't read, the impact can be very broad, ranging from difficulty in learning, difficulty communicating, to lack of insight and critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Addiction has become a complex mental health issue with significant psychological, social, and cultural implications, particularly in developing countries such as Indonesia. Accurate assessment and diagnosis are essential components of addiction counseling, as they determine the effectiveness of intervention and rehabilitation programs. This study aims to examine the role of assessment and diagnostic processes in addiction counseling and to evaluate their relevance within the Indonesian socio-cultural context. The research employs a qualitative method using a library research approach by analyzing peer-reviewed journal articles, books, official guidelines, and reports related to addiction counseling, assessment, and diagnosis. Data were analyzed through content analysis to identify key themes, patterns, and gaps in existing literature. The findings indicate that comprehensive assessment methods—such as interviews, psychological testing, behavioral assessment, and self-monitoring—play a critical role in understanding clients’ conditions holistically. However, the study also reveals challenges in adapting international diagnostic frameworks, such as the DSM-5 and ICD-11, to local cultural values and social realities. This study concludes that culturally sensitive and contextually relevant assessment and diagnostic approaches are urgently needed to enhance the effectiveness of addiction counseling services in Indonesia.

Abstract

Abstract: The rapid degradation of mangrove ecosystems threatens coastal biodiversity, shoreline stability, and carbon sequestration capacity, particularly in areas experiencing intense human activity. However, community-based participatory mangrove monitoring remains limited due to the lack of accessible and user-friendly digital tools. This study aims to design an intuitive mobile application for mangrove tree detection and participatory ecological monitoring using a User-Centered Design (UCD) approach. The research was conducted iteratively through user needs analysis, prototype development, and usability evaluation involving local governments, conservation practitioners, and non-expert users. The proposed application integrates machine learning for automated mangrove recognition with geospatial visualization and real-time feedback to support field-based monitoring. Usability evaluation using the System Usability Scale (SUS) yielded an overall score of 82.3, categorized as excellent usability, indicating high user satisfaction and intuitive interaction. The results demonstrate that integrating UCD and machine learning enhances usability, user engagement, and the accuracy of mangrove documentation under real field conditions. Overall, this study presents a field-ready, user-centered mobile solution that bridges usability engineering and participatory mangrove monitoring as a replicable model for inclusive ecological application development. Keywords: Carbon sequestration; mangrove monitoring; mobile application; user-centered design; usability evaluation Abstrak: Degradasi ekosistem mangrove yang semakin cepat mengancam keanekaragaman hayati pesisir, stabilitas garis pantai, dan kapasitas sekuestrasi karbon, terutama di wilayah dengan aktivitas manusia yang intens. Namun, pemantauan mangrove secara partisipatif berbasis komunitas masih terbatas akibat kurangnya perangkat digital yang mudah diakses dan ramah pengguna. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang aplikasi mobile yang intuitif untuk deteksi pohon mangrove dan pemantauan ekologi partisipatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan User-Centered Design (UCD). Penelitian dilakukan secara iteratif melalui analisis kebutuhan pengguna, pengembangan prototipe, dan evaluasi kegunaan dengan melibatkan pemerintah daerah, praktisi konservasi, serta pengguna non-ahli. Aplikasi yang diusulkan mengintegrasikan pembelajaran mesin untuk pengenalan mangrove secara otomatis dengan visualisasi geospasial dan umpan balik waktu nyata guna mendukung pemantauan di lapangan. Evaluasi kegunaan menggunakan System Usability Scale (SUS) menghasilkan skor keseluruhan sebesar 82,3 yang termasuk dalam kategori kegunaan sangat baik, menunjukkan tingkat kepuasan pengguna yang tinggi dan interaksi yang intuitif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi UCD dan pembelajaran mesin meningkatkan kegunaan, keterlibatan pengguna, serta akurasi dokumentasi mangrove dalam kondisi lapangan. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini menyajikan solusi mobile berbasis UCD yang siap digunakan di lapangan dan menjembatani rekayasa kegunaan dengan pemantauan mangrove partisipatif sebagai model replikatif bagi pengembangan aplikasi ekologi yang inklusif. Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) is a form of community service conducted in Laut Tador Village, Batu Bara Regency. The main objective of this program is to address issues faced by the community, particularly limited knowledge of business management and product marketing for MSMEs, as well as environmental management. Implementation methods used include observation, coordination with village officials, direct mentoring of MSMEs, outreach, and community activities such as mutual cooperation. The main outcomes of this program are: 1) Three local MSMEs (Palm Palm Sugar, Palm Palm Sugar, and Etawa Goat Milk) were successfully developed through the creation of new packaging, logos, promotional banners, and location registration on Google Maps to expand market reach. 2) Environmental awareness was increased through the installation of educational waste signs and the provision of separate trash bins at SDN 06 Laut Tador. 3) Village potential was strengthened by installing signs indicating tourist directions to Lake Laut Tador. 4) The establishment of a Family Medicine Garden (TOGA) to increase public health awareness. These activities have had a positive impact on MSME independence and village community awareness.

Abstract

Program edukasi kosmetik aman pada siswa MAN 1 Kota Jambi dilaksanakan sebagai upaya meningkatkan pemahaman remaja mengenai pemilihan dan penggunaan produk kosmetik yang memenuhi standar keamanan. Kegiatan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh maraknya peredaran kosmetik ilegal dan kurangnya literasi siswa terkait identifikasi kosmetik berizin edar, kandungan berbahaya, serta risiko kesehatan akibat penggunaan produk yang tidak sesuai. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi pretest, penyuluhan interaktif, demonstrasi cara memeriksa izin BPOM, dan post test untuk menilai peningkatan pengetahuan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada pemahaman siswa mengenai kriteria kosmetik aman (p <0,001). Selain itu, siswa menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi terkait pemilihan kosmetik yang digunakan untuk sehari-hari. Program ini membuktikan bahwa edukasi yang bersifat aplikatif dan sesuai konteks remaja dapat meningkatkan kesadaran dalam memilih kosmetik yang aman dan legal. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model edukasi berkelanjutan yang dapat diterapkan di sekolah guna mendukung perilaku penggunaan produk kosmetik yang bertanggung jawab di kalangan remaja.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the management of a religious habituation program in shaping the character integrity of students at SDN Sukamanah, Bandung Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data collection was conducted through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. Data analysis was conducted descriptively through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the management of the religious habituation program is carried out through the stages of planning, organizing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating. In the planning stage, the school sets character building goals, analyzes students' needs and characteristics, and designs religious habituation activities integrated into school activities. Organization is carried out through a clear division of roles and responsibilities between the principal and teachers in a collaborative manner. This program is implemented routinely and continuously through various religious activities supported by teacher role models and active student participation. Monitoring and evaluation are carried out continuously through observation of student behavior with an emphasis on guidance and continuous improvement. Challenges faced include limited time, differences in student backgrounds, and a lack of continuity in the religious education program between the school and families. Efforts made by the school include strengthening teacher commitment, implementing a personal approach to students, and increasing collaboration with parents. Overall, the management of the religious habituation program provides a positive contribution in consistently forming the character and integrity of students, which is integrated into the school culture.
