Abstract

The lifestyle of teenage girls tends to have demands to show appearance with their attractiveness, so wearing cosmetics is a necessity that must be done. This resulted in the emergence of many cosmetic products specifically for teenagers in Indonesia. These cosmetic products tend to have bright or pastel colors on their packaging that are attractive to teenage girls. This study aims to identify the pastel colors in cosmetic packaging and relate them to the preferences of teenage girl consumers. The method used in this study is a qualitative research method with data collection techniques through interviews. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively and conclusions were drawn related to the identification of colors on cosmetic packaging by female adolescent consumers. From this study, it was concluded that there are identified pastel color combinations in cosmetic primary packaging such as the lid and body of the package. Teenage girls like pastel color combinations on cosmetic packaging because they suit their individual preferences.Keywords: Pastel Colors, Cosmeteic Packaging, Teenage Girl Gaya hidup remaja wanita cenderung memiliki tuntutan untuk menunjukkan penampilan dengan daya tarik masing – masing, sehingga mengenakan kosmetik menjadi suatu kebutuhan yang harus dilakukan. Hal tersebut mengakibatkan banyaknya kemunculan berbagai produk kosmetik khusus remaja di Indonesia. Produk kosmetik tersebut cenderung memiliki warna yang cerah atau pastel pada kemasannya yang menarik bagi remaja wanita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi warna pastel yang ada pada kemasan kosmetik tersebut serta menghubungkannya dengan preferensi konsumen remaja wanita. Adapun metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu, metode penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara deskriptif dan ditarik kesimpulan yang berkaitan dengan identifikasi warna pada kemasan kosmetik dengan konsumen remaja wanita. Dari penelitian ini, disimpulkan bahwa terdapat kombinasi warna pastel yang teridentifikasi pada kemasan primer kosmetik seperti bagian tutup dan badan kemasan. Remaja wanita menyukai kombinasi warna pastel pada kemasan kosmetik karena sesuai dengan preferensi masing - masing. Kata kunci: Warna Pastel, Kemasan Kosmetik, Remaja Wanita

Abstract

An effective mascot is one that can depict a city, its philosophy, convey its vision and mission, and become a part of its public. In 2005, the Makassar City Government introduced the Si Jago mascot in its city branding. This research aims to analyse the design of the Makassar City mascot using Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotics approach with the concept of the meaning triangle, in which a sign is formed by the triangular relationship between the representamen related to the selected object, ultimately resulting in an interpretant. The analysis was conducted on the Si Jago mascot using a qualitative method. The results of this study conclude that the visualisation of the Si Jago mascot, which is a representamen, has iconic, symbolic, and indexical presence. Si Jago mascot becomes a great and distinctive identity of the local culture so that it can be a means of introducing Makassar City to a wider audience so that the culture of Makassar City can be widely known. Keywords : Mascot, Peirce’s Semiotics, Makassar City Maskot yang efektif adalah maskot yang mampu menggambarkan sebuah kota, filosofi, membawa gambaran visi dan misi, serta mampu menjadi bagian dari dari publik itu sendiri. Di tahun 2005, Pemerintah Kota Makassar menghadirkan maskot Si Jago pada city brandingnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis secara mendalam desain maskot Kota Makassar menggunakan pendekatan semiotika Charles Sanders Peirce dengan konsep segitiga makna, di mana tanda dibentuk oleh hubungan segitiga antara representamen berhubungan dengan objek yang dipilih, pada akhirnya akan menghasilkan interpretan. Analisis dilakukan terhadap maskot Si Jago menggunakan metode kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa visualisasi maskot Si Jago yang merupakan representamen yang kehadiran bersifat ikonik, simbolik dan indeksikal. Maskot Si Jago menjadi kehebatan dan penuh identitas ciri khas budaya setempat sehingga dapat menjadi wadah pengenalan Kota Makassar ke masyarakat lebih luas agar budaya Kota Makassar dapat diketahui secara umum. Abstract

AbstractDrs Suyadi, known as Pak Raden, a character from the TV series Puppet si Unyil, for more than 60 years has produced various high-quality works of art, one of which is a unique and interesting lettering image, which has received little attention. Making digital fonts based on letter images by Drs Suyadi is one of the efforts to maintain its existence. However, Drs Suyadi’s hand-lettering alphabet is not yet complete. Before the design is developed and digital fonts are made, this alphabet must be completed first. Therefore, this research is to identify the characteristics of the letter image by Drs Suyadi, complete the incomplete character of the letter, develop the design of the typeface and create the digital font, and evaluate the results of the development of the letter design. The research approach is mixed. Qualitative mode with observation, interviews, and design, and qualitative mode with evaluation of the response to the results with a questionnaire. The results are “Pak Raden” typeface, “Pak Raden” digital font, and survey results that show a positive response to 5 questions regarding memory, design suitability, suitability of the name of the typeface, compatibility with Pak Raden’s character, and the ease of recognizing each letter.Keywords: hand-lettering letters, Drs Suyadi, typeface, Pak Raden, typographyAbstrakDrs Suyadi, dikenal sebagai Pak Raden, tokoh dari serial TV Boneka si Unyil, selama lebih dari60 tahun telah menghasilkan berbagai karya seni bermutu tinggi yang salah satunya adalah gambar huruf yang unik dan menarik, tetapi kurang mendapat perhatian. Pembuatan fontdigital berdasarkan gambar huruf karya Drs Suyadi merupakan salah satu upaya untuk mempertahankan keberadaanya. Namun demikian abjad gambar huruf karya Drs Suyadi ini belum lengkap. Sebelum kemudian dikembangkan desainnya dan dibuatkan rupa huruf dan font digitalnya, abjad huruf ini harus dilengkapi dulu. Karenanya penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi ciri khas gambar huruf karya Drs Suyadi, melengkapi karakter huruf yang belum lengkap, mengembangkan desain rupa huruf dan membuat font digitalnya, serta melakukan evaluasi dari hasil pengembangan desain huruf. Pendekatan penelitian adalah campuran (mix). Modus kualitatif dengan observasi, wawancara, dan perancangan, serta modus kualitatif dengan evaluasi respon terhadap hasil dengan kuesioner. Hasil rancangan berupa desain rupa huruf “Pak Raden”, font digital “Pak Raden”, dan hasil survey yang menunjukkan respon positif terhadap 5 pertanyaan menyangkut memori, kesesuain desain, kesuaian nama rupa huruf, keseuaian dengan karakter Pak Raden, dan kemudahan mengenali setiap huruf.Kata kunci: gambar huruf, Drs Suyadi, rupa huruf, Pak Raden, tipografi

Abstract

The Bekasi Museum Visual Brand Identity Design aims to design a strategy, concept and visual branding identity design for the Bekasi Museum that is in accordance with the image expected by the museum, namely a technology-based history museum. In this design, the method used is the data collection method in the form of observation, interviews, questionnaires and documentation, then the interactive data analysis method (Miles & Hubberman, 1992), and the 5 stage design thinking method consisting of emphatize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. The results of designing the visual identity of the Bekasi Museum brand are the logo, GSM, and its application to the required media.

Abstract

AbstrakFakultas Seni Rupa dan Desain (FSRD) Universitas Trisakti memiliki akun Instagram @fsrdusakti sejak tahun 2016. Hasil penelitian awal, ada ketidakpuasan dari pengguna terhadap desain media sosial Instagram @fsrdusakti yang dinilai kurang tertata rapi dan tidak menunjukkan identitas visual yang menarik dan interaktif. Berdasarkan masukan tersebut, Fakultas Seni Rupa dan Desain Universitas Trisakti meluncurkan desain baru Instagram @fsrdusakti pada puncak perayaan 50 tahun FSRD Universitas Trisakti pada tanggal 23 November 2019 lalu. Sebagai salah satu media branding Fakultas Seni Rupa dan Desain Universitas Trisakti kepada khalayak sasaran, desain media sosial Instagram @fsrdusakti perlu dievaluasi, yaitu bagaimana pesan komunikasi visual branding disampaikan melalui elemen visual karakter ilustrasi dan warna. Metode pada penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan deskripsi analitis terhadap keberadaan desain Instagram @fsrdusakti. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi visual dan kuesioner kepuasan kepada pengguna yang meliputi civitas akademika dan siswa SMA sebagai calon mahasiswa. Analisis evaluatif dilakukan berdasarkan data penelitian terhadap (a) Warna (b) Karakter ilustrasi, (c) Instagram feed pada akun Instagram @fsrdusakti. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah penjabaran evaluatif terhadap rangkuman analisis dan rekomendasi terhadap pengembangan desain media sosial Instagram @fsrdusakti yang akan bermanfaat untuk Fakultas Seni Rupa dan Desain Universitas Trisakti. Kata Kunci: media sosial, Instagram, branding, FSRD Universitas Trisakti AbstractFaculty of Art and Design Trisakti University has Instagram account @fsrdusakti since 2016. The early research result showed, there has an unsatisfied user that mentions the design of social media Instagram @fsrdusakti that are unattractive and not interactive enough for the user. Based upon the recommendations, the Faculty of Art and Design Trisakti University had launched a new design of Instagram @fsrdusakti on November 23, 2019, which was the 50th celebration day of the Faculty of Art and Design Trisakti University. As one of the Faculty of Art and Design Trisakti University's media branding to the audiences the evaluation of social media design, Instagram @fsrdusakti needed.  How visual branding communication message is conveying to the user through illustration character and colors. The research method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical review of the design. Data collected through visual observation and questionnaires to the users such as academic and high school students as prospectus students. The evaluative analysis was carried based on data research of (a) Colors, (b) Illustration characters, (c) Instagram feed on Instagram account @fsrdusakti. Abstract

Karang Taruna of RT. 10 RW. 005 Kedoya Selatan Village, Kebon Jeruk District, West Jakarta, is a platform for the development of the youth with the objective of promoting social welfare within the community. The results of field observations indicate that Karang Taruna RT. 10 RW. 005 Kedoya Selatan Village does not currently have any productive activities that are focused on the development of the potential of its members and the community in its vicinity. The Community Service team at the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design (FFAD) Trisakti University is motivated by this circumstance to offer training in order to empower the Karang Taruna in the region. The training is designed to instruct individuals on how to create wall lamps by upcycling container wood waste. This activity also seeks to educate participants on the process of converting container wood waste into functional products, in addition to developing their creativity and skills. The experimental method was employed in the preparation stage of this community service activity, while the mentoring method was combined with the PAR (Participatory Action Research) approach to actively engage the participants in the activities. The training session, which took place on Saturday, March 02, 2024, at the Materials and Processes Practicum Room at Trisakti University in West Jakarta, was attended by a total of 10 (ten) male participants between the ages of 17 and 26. The training resulted in the production of 10 wall lamps that functioned effectively and the enhancement of the skills, creativity, and knowledge of the members of Karang Taruna Kedoya Selatan regarding the management of container wood waste.

Abstract

Korban dari pelecehan seksual sering kali merasa tidak berani dan tidak aman melaporkan atas peristiwa yang menimpanya. Terdapat pula fenomena kurangnya rasa empati di lingkungan masyarakat, sehingga Kemdikbud RI mengunggah salah satu Iklan Layanan Masyarakat berjudul “Jangan Menyalahkan Korban” sebagai peringatan terhadap masyarakat untuk lebih baik mendengarkan keluhan dari para penyintas pelecehan seksual dan tidak langsung menyalahkan korban. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memperdalam pemahaman terhadap tanda-tanda dan pesan sosial yang terdapat dalam Iklan Layanan Masyarakat tersebut. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan teori semiotika Roland Barthes sebagai pendukung untuk ditemukannya pesan dan tanda. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini yaitu dengan mengobservasi setiap scene yang terdapat pada iklan, dan terdapat 6 scene dalam iklan dengan pesan di dalamnya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan pemaknaan penonton iklan terhadap pesan sosial pada iklan, yaitu bahwa iklan tersebut meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap kepedulian mengenai kekerasan maupun pelecehan seksual dan memberi edukasi agar untuk tidak menyalahkan korban kekerasan maupun pelecehan seskual.

Abstract

For the 2024 General Election (Pemilu) which will take place on February 14, 2024, the three pairs of President and Vice President Candidates for the 2024 Election are carrying out a campaign by distributing posters in various locations and media. These posters use various visual communication approaches, which can be examined in more depth in how the visual aspects and visual communication in them reproduce to form an image representing the identity of candidate pairs, and how the visual approaches used by the three pairs of President and Vice President Candidates in the 2024 Election compare. This research aims to describe the visual variety of posters for candidate pairs and to describe a comparison of the visual communication approaches for the posters of the three pairs of President and Vice President Candidates in the 2024 Election. This research uses qualitative methods. The data collection method was direct visual observation in Jakarta, documented using photography methods, while visual observation via the internet and social media was then documented using screenshot techniques. The visual objects used as poster model samples were selected using purposive sampling, namely with the aim of the diversity of visual communication approaches used on posters. The analysis was carried out in 2 (two) stages, the first was an analysis of the visual elements of each poster model based on the sequence of President and Vice President Candidate Numbers that had been determined by the General Election Commission of the Republic of Indonesia, and the second was a comparative analysis of the visual communication approaches carried out by each -each candidate. The results of this research are a comparative description of the visual communication approaches for the posters of the three President and Vice President Candidates which represent the figure of the candidate pair in the 2024 Election.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted the sustainability of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprise (MSMEs) in Tanjung Duren Village, Grogol District, West Jakarta. Due to the pandemic, several MSMEs suffered losses and were forced to close their businesses. After the pandemic, MSMEs activists began to improve themselves and adjust market developments. One of the strategies to attract market interest is rebranding with an attractive appearance through logos and packaging of MSMEs products. This condition became a concern for the community service team, Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD) Universitas Trisakti, so they provided training on creating logos with the Canva application and packaging design. This training aims to help MSME players rebrand through attractive logos and packaging so that the products sold become the community's choice. This PkM activity applies a mentoring method with a PAR (Participatory Action Research) approach that actively involves participants in implementing activities. A total of 10 (ten) food and beverage MSMEs players, all women, attended the training held on Friday, May 03, 2024, at the RW 007 secretariat office, Tanjung Duren Utara Village, West Jakarta. Through this training, the participants, who are MSME players, gained knowledge in designing attractive logos and product packaging so that they are expected to increase their product sales.

Abstract

Pondok Yatim and Dhuafa Tomang are located on Jl. Gelong Baru No. 8, Tomang Village, Grogol Petamburan District, West Jakarta, is inhabited by 10 children aged 3-12 years. Currently, no special environmental awareness or art activities are carried out by the children at Pondok Yatim and Dhuafa Tomang. Even though they are interested in the environment and have free time to carry out various activities after formal school ends, one of which is drawing. For this reason, drawing training activities are carried out to increase awareness of the environment through Community Service activities by the Faculty of Art and Design,  Universitas Trisakti. This activity aims to help the children Pondok Yatim and Dhuafa Tomang foster. The activity targets are gaining knowledge about the environment, developing drawing skills, and developing creativity. The training was carried out using the participatory action research (PAR) method to obtain primary information from the target audience and to participate actively in implementing the training. The training results are children's drawings on environmental themes with various creative objects and interactions with the surrounding environment as a reflection of the environmental concerns of the children assisted by Pondok Yatim and Dhuafa Tomang. The training activities were carried out well according to the objectives of the training activities.
