Abstract

The Jalan Jenderal Sudirman area, Jakarta, is a rapidly developing urban center area. The People's Crossing Bridge (JPO) in the Jalan Jenderal Sudirman area, Jakarta has undergone revitalization. The six research objects, namely JPO Ratu Plaza – Senayan, JPO Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), JPO Polda Metro Jaya, JPO without roof in front of Indofood Tower, JPO Pinisi, and JPO Dukuh Atas, have various forms as a result of the DKI Jakarta Regional Government revitalization, but the relationship with function and meaning. Therefore this study aims to understand the relationship between the form, function, and meaning of JPO products in the Jalan Sudirman area, Jakarta, which represents the behavior and activities of urban communities as users. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, to elaborate and describe descriptively the relation of form, function, and meaning of JPO to users, especially urban communities. The results of this study reveal that the six JPOs in the Jalan Jenderal Sudirman area, Jakarta, have become a representation of the behavior and activities of the Jakarta urban community as users. The city of Jakarta as a dynamic metropolis is reflected in the forms of the JPO and the behavior of its users. Keyword: design, pedestrian bridge, Jakarta, urban society

Abstract

The Visual Analysis of Lux Character’s Splash Art on the Game of “League of Legends”. Splash art is a definition that is mostly used in most video games to show the visualization of a playable character in the game. Besides splash art having interesting illustrations, splash art often shows the character's lore to the players, so the player is interested and manifested to play the character or to use the skin on the character. The use of composition is one of the biggest factors that affect the choice to tell the character’s story within its splash art. One of the video games that have splash art that interests most gamers is “League of Legends”. The game“League of Legends” has so many players and invested fans because of the interesting gameplay and the illustration of the character’s splash art. In this journal, one of the characters whose splash art will be explained in analytic matter is Lux. Lux is one of the woman warriors in the “League of Legends” and is known to be very popular. The method is qualitative visual analysis. Visual illustration data collected dan analyzed based on visual design theory, especially commposition, illustration, and colour. The result is that Lux has so many skins variations that can be used in the game and every splash art within the character has a correlation with the character’s lore.Keywords: splash art, game, League of Legends, Lux

Abstract

Currently, there are still many who build housing without thinking about the green concept. This causes the problem of global warming. With the very fast development process, especially in Jakarta, it will have an impact on environmental damage. The way to solve this problem is to implement the greenship home concept to residential. The greenship home concept is a development of sustainable development goals (SDG's). The homes of overseas Minangkabau people are said to carry the concept of social sustainability, which is a link between the design of the physical world and the social world, which means that even the comfortable housing is important, home design that is able to maintain social relations and cultural development must also be considered. The culture and traditions of the Minangkabau people who have migrated are still preserved for the sake of continued social interaction or what is known as social sustainability. This research aims to analyze and validate the suitability of residential designs for overseas Minangkabau people, especially those living in Jakarta, to the greenship home concept. The method used is mix-method/combined research which combines qualitative and quantitative approaches. Qualitative with a cultural approach to describe and compare with the standard greenship home assessment system, while quantitative because the data is in the form of numbers. Data was collected through observation and interview methods. The findings of this research are related to the level of suitability of the design of spatial arrangements in the homes of overseas Minangkabau people to the greenship home concept, especially in upper middle class housing in Jakarta, which is in accordance with a percentage of suitability value of 73%, or equivalent to the minimum value at platinum rank (the highest rank ) namely with a score of 56. This research is also expected to become a basis for criticism and evaluation for developers when designing housing in the future.

Abstract

Korban dari pelecehan seksual sering kali merasa tidak berani dan tidak aman melaporkan atas peristiwa yang menimpanya. Terdapat pula fenomena kurangnya rasa empati di lingkungan masyarakat, sehingga Kemdikbud RI mengunggah salah satu Iklan Layanan Masyarakat berjudul “Jangan Menyalahkan Korban” sebagai peringatan terhadap masyarakat untuk lebih baik mendengarkan keluhan dari para penyintas pelecehan seksual dan tidak langsung menyalahkan korban. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memperdalam pemahaman terhadap tanda-tanda dan pesan sosial yang terdapat dalam Iklan Layanan Masyarakat tersebut. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan teori semiotika Roland Barthes sebagai pendukung untuk ditemukannya pesan dan tanda. Pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini yaitu dengan mengobservasi setiap scene yang terdapat pada iklan, dan terdapat 6 scene dalam iklan dengan pesan di dalamnya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan pemaknaan penonton iklan terhadap pesan sosial pada iklan, yaitu bahwa iklan tersebut meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat terhadap kepedulian mengenai kekerasan maupun pelecehan seksual dan memberi edukasi agar untuk tidak menyalahkan korban kekerasan maupun pelecehan seskual.

Abstract

The culture of gathering is still practiced by the Minangkabau people, both those who still live in hometowns and those who have migrated. A number of traditions are still carried out by Minangkabau people today. The culture and traditions must be maintained and preserved for the sake of social interaction (social sustainability). The concept of social sustainability is a link between design of the physical world and social world, which means that although comfortable housing is important, residential design that is able to maintain social relations, social networks, and cultural development must also be considered. This study aims to classify zoning and grouping to produce recommendations for layouts. That way, the scope of interior design in solving residential problems is expected to be solved systematically so as to produce a layout that facilitates the needs of its inhabitants. The method used is qualitative with cultural approach (cultural studies) to describe spatial divisions in residential houses based on cultural activities of the overseas Minangkabau people. Data was collected using documentation and interviews. The findings of this study are related to spatial arrangements in the house of the overseas Minangkabau people in providing space to fulfill the activities carried out by Minangkabau people today. The layout of the overseas Minangkabau people has a shape in the front has an area of ​​space that can accommodate the number of residents and relatives of same clan. This research is able to become the basis for criticism and evaluation for developers to design housing in the future.

Abstract

Abstract A Visual Analysis of The Good Day’s Bottle Packaging at Gaul Creation Competition 2019 With Theme “Indonesia Banyak Rasa”. Packaging becomes the initial attraction of a consumer in buying a product. Attracting consumers requires visual elements that match the company's image. It has been applied to the instant coffee-drink company good day through the creation competition for packaging design. This study will discuss visuals, especially the use of illustrations and colors in bottles of Good Day in Gaul Creation Competition 2019 with the theme "Indonesia Banyak Rasa." The research method used is the quantitative and semiotics analysis of Roland Barthes to analyze the cultural code found in the good day creation competition 2019 packaging design with the "Indonesia Banyak Rasa". Data collection techniques are carried out through library studies of such sources as journals, articles, books, and the Internet. The study of the new good day creation competition 2019 bottled design can be seen by the selection of objects and icons that represent Indonesia's cultural codes where every cultural code present in this facility has different meanings in every area. Kemasan menjadi daya tarik awal konsumen dalam membeli suatu produk. Untuk menarik konsumen diperlukan elemen-elemen visual yang sesuai dengan citra perusahaan tersebut. Hal tersebut telah diterapkan oleh perusahaan minuman kopi instan yaitu Good Day melalui kompetisi desain kemasan yaitu Gaul Creation Competition. Penelitian ini akan membahas visual terutama penggunaan ilustrasi dan warna pada kemasan botol Good Day pada Gaul Creation Competition 2019 dengan tema “Indonesia banyak rasa”. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dan analisis semiotika Roland Barthes untuk menganalisis kode budaya yang terdapat dalam desain kemasan Good Day pada Gaul Creation Competition 2019 dengan tema “Indonesia banyak rasa”. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui studi pustaka dari berbagai sumber seperti jurnal, artikel, buku maupun internet. Hasil penelitian pada desain kemasan botol Good Day edisi Gaul Creation Competition 2019 ini, dapat dilihat melalui pemilihan objek serta ikon yang merepresentasikan kode-kode budaya Indonesia di mana setiap kode budaya yang hadir dalam ilustasi ini memiliki makna berbeda di setiap daerah. Abstract

Abstract Visual Comparison of the “Perempuan Berkalung Sorban” Movie Poster and “Homeland” Season 4. The movie poster is a synopsis in graphic form. Movie posters must be carefully considered in order to communicate effectively. “Perempuan Berkalung Sorban” is a drama genre movie that first aired in 2009. While “Homeland“ Season 4 is a TV series movie that aired around October 5, 2014. The two posters are interesting to study because there are similarities but also contradictions. This research generally aims to find out the meaning behind the visuals on the poster. This study uses descriptive qualitative research methods to analyze visual objects, colors, layouts, and typography. The visual analysis uses Roland Barthes' semiotic theory. The results of the study reveal that the two movie posters have many similarities and differences. Both posters use similar objects, colors, and compositions, and the use of objects as backgrounds are similar. However, these two posters also have differences in terms of meaning. Poster film merupakan sebuah sinopsis dalam bentuk grafis. Pembuatan poster film harus dipertimbangkan secara matang agar dapat berkomunikasi secara efektif. “Perempuan Berkalung Sorban” merupakan film drama yang pertama kali tayang pada 2009 silam. Sementara “Homeland” Season 4 merupakan film serial TV yang ditayangkan sekitar 5 Oktober 2014. Kedua poster tersebut menarik untuk diteliti karena ada kemiripan namun juga ada kontradiksi. Penelitian ini secara umum bertujuan untuk mengetahui makna di balik visual pada poster. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif untuk menganalisis objek visual, warna, layout dan tipografi. Analisis visual menggunakan teori semiotika Roland Barthes. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa kedua poster film tersebut memiliki banyak persamaan dan perbedaan. Kedua poster sama-sama menggunakan objek, warna dan komposisi yang mirip, serta penggunaan objek menjadi background yang serupa. Namun kedua poster ini juga mempunyai perbedaan dari segi maknanya. Abstract

Abstract Digitalization is an effort to save the text from being destroyed due to hostile climate and humidity. Therefore, observers, enthusiasts, researchers and script owners as well as the government must unite to build synergies in saving and maintaining the script. Thus, the digitalization program which is currently being promoted by various parties or agencies can truly save the nation's intellectual treasure contained in the text. At least, HB Jassin's Literary Documentation Center can take the lead in digitizing theater scripts. With the involvement of the textbook community and official state institutions, it is hoped that there will be some kind of website that takes into account its use as a form of digitization as a form of sustainable national preservation of theater scripts.Keywords: digitalization, teather manuscripts, Center for Literary Documentation of HB Jassin, usability.  AbstrakDigitalisasi merupakan sebuah upaya penyelamatan naskah dari kemusnahan akibat iklim dan kelembaban udara yang tidak bersahabat. Oleh karena itu, para pemerhati, peminat, peneliti, dan pemilik naskah serta pemerintah harus bersatu padu untuk membangun sinergi dalam hal penyelamatan dan pemeliharaan naskah. Dengan demikian, program digitalisasi yang kini sedang digalakkan oleh berbagai pihak atau instansi benar-benar dapat menyelamatkan khazanah intelektual bangsa yang terkandung di dalam naskah. Setidaknya, Pusat Dokumentasi Sastra HB Jassin dapat tampil sebagai garda depan dalam urusan digitalisasi naskah teater. Dengan pelibatan komunitas pernaskahan dan lembaga resmi negara, diharapkan adanya semacam situs web yang memerhatikan usability sebagai bentuk digitalisasi sebagai wujud penyelamatan naskah teater secara nasional yang berkesinambungan.Kata kunci: digitalisasi, naskah teater, Pusat Dokumentasi Sastra HB Jassin, usability.

Abstract

Abstract The mass media, especially newspapers, are starting and adapt to enter digital platforms as a result of industrial revolution 4.0. People change how to reading and that makes the mass media must be able to provide information briefly but clearly, one of which is through visual journalism, represented by infographics. The Kompas Daily Infographic has its own visual style that distinguishes it from others. This visual style become an identity that represents the Kompas Daily brand. This study explores how the visual style of infographics becomes the identity of Kompas Daily in terms of text, production, consumption, to socio-culture. The goal is to understand how visual style becomes identity. The methodology uses Norman Fairclough's critical discourse analysis which dissects a phenomenon with three dimensions. The results of this study show that the visual style of Kompas Daily infographic can be an identity that distinguishes it from other media. Infographic visual style is produced to align its ideology, policies, and consumption. Identity is manifested from a pattern that takes place in a continuous time and is formed by various factors, both directly and indirectly influencing it. Keywords: Mass Media, Infographic, Visual Style, Identity Abstrak Media massa khususnya surat kabar mulai beradaptasi dengan era revolusi industri 4.0 untuk masuk ke dalam platform digital. Pola baca yang ikut berubah menjadikan media massa harus mampu memberikan informasi dengan singkat namun jelas, salah satunya melalui jurnalisme visual yang diwakili salah satunya dengan infografik. Infografik Harian Kompas memiliki gaya visual sendiri yang membedakan dengan infografik media lain. Gaya visual tersebut dapat menjadi identitas yang mewakili brand Harian Kompas. Penelitian ini mengangkat bagaimana gaya visual infografik menjadi identitas Harian Kompas dilihat dari teks, produksi, konsumsi, hingga sosial budaya. Tujuannya untuk memahami bagaimana gaya visual menjadi identitas. Metodologi menggunakan analisis wacana kritis Norman Fairclough yang membedah suatu fenomena dengan tiga dimensi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan gaya visual infografik Harian Kompas dapat menjadi identitas yang membedakan dengan media lain. Gaya visual infografik diproduksi untuk menyelaraskan ideologi, kebijakan, dan konsumsinya. Identitas terwujud dari pola yang berlangsung dalam waktu yang kontinyu dan terbentuk oleh dari berbagai macam faktor baik yang memengaruhi langsung maupun tidak secara langsung.
