Abstract

Residential areas face issues related to waste from used items, including discarded cans due to household consumption. Activities that involve direct participation are required to enhance environmental awareness among the community. This training is a tangible community service program from the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design at Universitas Trisakti, conducted for the youth of Karang Taruna Cikoko Timur RW 02, Cikoko Village, Pancoran Subdistrict, South Jakarta. The training was aimed at 10 (ten) members of Karang Taruna who were directly involved in community empowerment activities in the targeted area. The training was carried out using the PAR (Participatory Action Research) method, with direct painting training on used cans under the guidance of an instructional team. The stages of the can painting training were (1) Cleaning, (2) Coloring, and (3) Protecting. The results of this training included painted used can products created by each participant, along with learning outcomes such as (1) Understanding the characteristics of can packaging, (2) Recognizing colour composition, (3) Practicing patience and diligence, (4) Developing creativity, and (5) Raising environmental awareness by utilizing used waste found around the living area.

Abstract

Abstract: Communal activity done by Minangkabau society until now. The need of communication and social activity with internal community and the change of places are meaningful to nation sustainability. Human needs to interior activities can be analyzed through cultural and interior design approach, to know the communal room’s role in Rumah Gadang and Minangkabau people’s house in urban area. This research aims to understand the concept of communal room in Rumah Gadang at West Sumatera including its meaning and philosophy, and to know the implementation of communal room in Minangkabau people’s house in urban area as social interaction sustainability of Minangkabau peoples nowadays. This research used qualitative method to describe the meaning, function, and philosophy of Rumah Gadang in Minangkabau and its sustainability in Minangkabau people’s houses in urban area. The data collecting method is documentation and interview with resources to know how they used the communal rooms in the Rumah Gadang Istana Basa Pagaruyung and two houses as study cases of this research. The result is description of Minangkabau people’s communal room in traditional Rumah Gadang to urban houses that carries Minangkabau philosophy in their implementation activities.Abstrak: Aktivitas komunal dilakukan oleh masyarakat Minangkabau sejak dulu hingga saat ini. Adanya kebutuhan masyarakat Minangkabau untuk tetap melakukan aktivitas komunikasi dan sosial bersama saudara sekaum, dan adanya perubahan tempat di mana kegiatan tersebut dilakukan merupakan kondisi sosial masyarakat Indonesia yang bermakna penting untuk keberlanjutan bangsa. Kebutuhan manusia dalam melakukan aktivitas di dalam ruang dapat dikaji melalui pendekatan budaya dan desain interior, sehingga dapat diketahui peran ruang komunal pada Rumah Gadang dan rumah tinggal masyarakat Minangkabau di perantauan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk memahami konsep ruang komunal pada Rumah Gadang di Sumatera Barat meliputi makna dan filosofinya, serta mengetahui bagaimana implementasi ruang komunal pada rumah tinggal orang Minangkabau perantauan sebagai bentuk keberlanjutan interaksi sosial masyarakat Minangkabau saat ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif untuk mendeskripsikan makna, fungsi dan falsafah ruang komunal Rumah Gadang di Minangkabau dan keberlangsungannya di rumah tinggal masyarakat Minangkabau di perkotaan. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode dokumentasi dan wawancara dengan narasumber untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan ruang komunal Rumah Gadang Istana Basa Pagaruyung dan dua buah rumah tinggal yang menjadi studi kasus penelitian ini. Hasil penelitian ini adalah deskripsi ruang komunal masyarakat Minangkabau dari Rumah Gadang tradisional ke rumah tinggal di perantauan yang masih membawa falsafah adat Minangkabau dalam implementasi penggunaannya.

Abstract

Design of Self-Love Themed Journaling Books for Gen Z (Case Study: Women Born In 1997-2012). Gen Z faces a high level of competition in various aspects of their lives, including in education, career, and social. This high level of competition can cause insecurity among Gen Z, one of which is the feeling of insecurity. It is important for people to have boundaries in the way of loving themselves and being grateful for what they have right now. Self-Love is a state of self-appreciation. Journaling is a simple way to improve mental health. Illustration is the highest element as an attraction in the design of a book. Therefore, this study aims to produce a design concept and a journaling book with the theme of Self-Love for Gen Z. The type of research used is a qualitative approach. The data sources used by the researcher are primary and secondary data. The data obtained was collected by the following methods: observation, interviews, documentation, literature studies, and questionnaires. The method for data analysis in this study uses a qualitative data analysis method. After being analyzed, the validity of the data was carried out. The design method in this study uses the design thinking method, namely: Emphatize, Define, Ideate, Prototype, and Test. The design concept generated for this self-love-themed journaling book is "10 Minutes Journaling" with 4 stages of Self-Love. The result of this research is to produce a journaling book with the theme of Self-Love for Gen Z.

Abstract

AbstractMeans of food selling in the form of carts are commonly found in Jakarta urban area. One of them is Jakarta’s typical food cart of ketoprak’s food cart. The increase of this Jakarta’s typical food industries made several kinds of ketoprak’s food carts in unique characteristic. The object of this research is ketoprak’s food cart in Jakarta urban area, especially in housing area of Sector 1-9 Bintaro Jaya. The ketoprak’s food cart has a unique characteristic of form and meaning and certain function related to their user in Jakarta, which is interesting to explore and becoming the problem of this research. This research aims to understand the meanings of sign and for of ketoprak’s food cart as a representation of urban community behaviors, and to understand the relation between ketoprak’s food cart form to the user’s activity when selling and making ketoprak. The method in this research is qualitative descriptive, with product design semiotic approach which are analysis of semantic, syntactic, hyletic and pragmatic dimension of ketoprak’s food cart. The data collecting methods are observation and interview to user (seller). The result of this research is ketoprak’s food cart description and models classification and relation of meaning and form in semantic, syntactic, hyletic, pragmatic dimension, and also operational ergonomics and mobility of the users. Key word: food cart, ketoprak, product semiotics, meaning, form   AbstrakSarana berjualan dalam bentuk gerobak masih banyak ditemui di wilayah perkotaan Jakarta. Salah satunya adalah gerobak makanan khas Jakarta yaitu ketoprak. Perkembangan industri kecil makanan khas Jakarta ini membuat terdapat beberapa macam bentuk gerobak makanan ketoprak yang memiliki karakteristik yang khas. Objek penelitian ini adalah gerobak makanan ketoprak yang terdapat di wilayah kota Jakarta, khususnya di kawasan wilayah perumahan Bintaro Jaya sektor 1-9. Gerobak makanan ketoprak memiliki kekhasan bentuk dengan makna dan fungsi tertentu yang berhubungan dengan kondisi penggunanya di Jakarta, yang menarik untuk dikaji lebih lanjut dan menjadi masalah dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami makna tanda, bentuk gerobak makanan ketoprak sebagai representasi perilaku masyarakat urban dan juga untuk memahami relasi antara bentuk produk gerobak makanan ketoprak dengan aktivitas pengguna saat menjajakan dan mengolah makanan ketoprak. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif, dengan pendekatan semiotika desain produk yaitu analisis dimensi semantik, sintaktik, hiletik dan pragmatik dari objek produk gerobak makanan ketoprak. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui metode observasi dan pengumpulan data faktual dari objek penelitian dalam lingkup ruang penelitian, melalui wawancara terhadap pengguna (pedagang). Hasil penelitian ini adalah deskripsi bentuk gerobak ketoprak berdasarkan kelompok-kelompok modelnya, dan relasi perbedaan makna dan bentuk gerobrak makanan dalam dimensi semantik, sintaktik, hiletik, pragmatik, serta fungsi dan kegunaan, ergonomi operasional dan mobilitas sarana oleh pedagang yang menggunakannya. Kata Kunci: gerobak makanan, ketoprak, semiotika produk, makna, bentuk

Abstract

AbstractRestaurants with Indonesian cuisine commonly exist in Jakarta, one of them is Padang restaurant that comes from Minangkabau culture and tradition in West Sumatra. Padang restaurant visited by various consumers, including Jakarta residents, local and international travelers. To be recognized by consumers and prospective consumers, Padang restaurants have a unique characteristic in their design. This research focused on three restaurants as research objects which are Sederhana Padang Restaurant, Pagi Sore Restaurant, and Padang Merdeka Restaurant. The research was conducted to understand how Minangkabau ornaments and colors can be applied in Padang restaurants in Jakarta. The research method is qualitative descriptive. Data was collected through field research and photo documentation. Analysis was conducted by triangulated data from observation with visual data and references about Minangkabau tradition, including (1) architectural facade design, (2) applied ornaments in the interior, (3) applied colors in the interior. The result concluded that not all restaurants applied Minangkabau ornaments and colors in the restaurant’s interior. The architectural facade had a unique and interesting form to attract consumers to come to the restaurant. Minangkabau ornaments, motives, and colors in restaurants were not shown explicitly but conveyed through the adaptation process by modern architectural and interior style inlined with restaurant’s concept so every restaurant had a different approach applying Minangkabau’s culture in the interior design. Keyword: padang restaurant, interior design, restaurant interior, Minangkabau cuisine   AbstrakRestoran dengan menu makanan selera nusantara banyak ditemui di kota Jakarta, salah satu di antaranya adalah restoran dengan menu masakan Padang yang berasal dari tradisi budaya Minangkabau, di Sumatra Barat. Restoran Padang dikunjungi oleh konsumen yang beragam, termasuk penduduk Jakarta, wisatawan nusantara dan mancanegara. Agar mudah dikenali oleh konsumen dan calon konsumennya, Restoran Padang memiliki karakteristik tertentu pada desainnya. Penelitian ini terbatas pada tiga restoran yang menjadi objek penelitian, yaitu Restoran Padang Sederhana, Restoran Pagi Sore dan Padang Merdeka. Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana penerapan ragam hias dan warna tradisi Minangkabau pada interior Restoran Padang di Jakarta. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode observasi lapangan dan dokumentasi foto. Analisis dilakukan pada data hasil observasi secara triangulasi terhadap data visual dan kepustakaan terkait tradisi budaya Minangkabau, meliputi (1) desain fasad bangunan, (2)  penerapan ragam hias dalam interior, (3) penerapan warna dalam interior. Hasil dari penelitian ini memaparkan bahwa tidak semua restoran menerapkan ragam hias, motif dan warna Minangkabau di dalam interior restorannya. Fasad arsitektur yang memiliki bentuk unik dan menarik dapat dikenali dan menarik minat masyarakat untuk datang ke restoran tersebut. Penerapan ragam hias, motif dan warna Minangkabau di restoran tidak ditampilkan secara eksplisit, namun telah mengalami proses adaptasi dengan gaya arsitektural dan interior modern sesuai dengan konsep restoran tersebut sehingga setiap restoran memiliki perbedaan dalam penerapan budaya Minangkabau dalam desain interiornya. Kata Kunci: restoran padang, desain interior, interior restoran, kuliner Minangkabau

Abstract

Designing The Brand Identity Of Batang Agam Tourist Destination Payakumbuh City West Sumatera. Batang Agam is one of the tourist destinations located in Payakumbuh City, West Sumatra Province. Batang Agam is a destination that has 4 types of tourism, including natural tourism, history, culture, and hydroponic agriculture. This tour has been quite widely known and visited by many local and foreign tourists, but until now Batang Agam tourism has not had a brand identity so that the brand name of this tour tends to change and is inconsistent. In addition, the name of Payakumbuh City is also better known than the name of the tourist itself. Therefore, the research with the title “Designing The Brand Identity Of Batang Agam Tourist Destination Payakumbuh City West Sumatera” aims to produce strategies, concepts, and visual designs of brand identity in order to encourage the creation of a brand image. The data collection methods used are observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. Meanwhile, the method of designing works is carried out using 5 stages of Design Thinking, namely: empathize, define, ideate, prototype and test. The results of this brand identity design have formed strategies, concepts, and visual designs of brand identity in the form of logos, brand guidelines, and the application of identity to media in accordance with brand needs.

Abstract

The Use of Augmented Reality (AR) Technology at the Betawi Museum, Setu Babakan. The development of digital technology, especially Augmented Reality (AR), has opened up new opportunities in the world of education and cultural preservation, including in the museum environment. This study aims to analyze the use of AR technology in the Betawi Museum infographics, Setu Babakan, to increase visitor engagement and enrich understanding of Betawi culture. The study used a qualitative approach with observation, interview, and visual documentation methods, and was supported by literature studies as secondary data. The results of the analysis show that AR at the Betawi Museum provides a more immersive and interactive educational experience, with two main forms, namely 3D audiovisual visualization and interactive infographics. Although there are still some technical obstacles such as limitations in visual design, lighting, and internet connection. In conclusion, the application of AR at the Betawi Museum is a strategic step in transforming traditional museums into more digital, dynamic, and inclusive cultural learning spaces.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas pemanfaatan teknologi augmented reality (AR) dalam pameran temporer Dr. Wahidin di Museum Kebangkitan Nasional sebagai upaya inovatif untuk menyampaikan narasi sejarah kepada generasi muda. Latar belakang dari penelitian ini didasarkan pada kebutuhan museum untuk menyesuaikan diri dengan perkembangan zaman, serta tantangan dalam menarik minat generasi digital terhadap pembelajaran sejarah yang konvensional. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis bentuk penyajian visual dan naratif dari animasi 3D berbasis AR yang ditampilkan dalam video dokumentasi pameran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan observasi visual terhadap dokumentasi video serta studi literatur sebagai dasar teoretis. Hasil pembahasan menunjukkan bahwa animasi 3D yang dihadirkan melalui pemindaian kode QR berfungsi sebagai media interpretatif yang menyampaikan konteks sejarah dari diorama fisik secara lebih hidup dan komunikatif. Visualisasi ini tidak hanya menampilkan tokoh sejarah, tetapi juga menyampaikan narasi melalui gerak tubuh, ekspresi wajah, dan suara dalam format semi-realistis. Penerapan prinsip animasi seperti anticipation, pose-to-pose, dan solid drawing turut memperkuat keterlibatan emosional dan pemahaman pengunjung. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya pembaruan media edukasi di museum melalui teknologi digital yang tidak hanya menarik secara visual, tetapi juga mampu menjaga akurasi dan kedalaman narasi sejarah
