Abstract

AbstractThis program aims to explore obstacles and record deadlocks so that similar conflicts will not arise again in the future by analyzing and storing the reasons for deadlocks, and using them to guide future math doing decisions. One obstacle in the mathematics learning process so far is due to carrying out pre-processing exercises or doing backward searches. Meanwhile, new constraints are presented from an algorithm that reaches a deadlock situation, or through an induction approach when it should not be used. This constraint is not helpful when a reverse control strategy is used and will never be repeated. On the other hand, the mathematical facts that emerge will conflict with the structure of the system, so that information is recorded in the form of new explicit constraints. The current teaching materials (learning modules) are still independent, far from problem representation schemes and algorithms for solving them. Service participants are MGMP Mathematics Education teachers in Mempawah Regency. The method for implementing community service activities is carried out in seven stages. The result of this activity was that MGMP Mathematics Education teachers in Mempawah were observed to always be dealing with problem solving abilities. Apparently, they still have to be equipped to be able to: represent, operationalize, develop alternative hypotheses and work procedures, test hypotheses to obtain results, and check again. Keywords: satisfaction constraints; handling model; mathematics.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is so that second semester students who take linear algebra courses are able to analyze their visualization understanding in solving problems presented with real life. Specifically we want to know: 1) how they understand the problem; 2) how to visualize the problem; 3) how they get the conclusion from their visualization; 4) how it impacts the course itself on the moodle e-learning platform. The type of research used is qualitative with descriptive-explorative methods, namely exploring all things that exist in the implementation of learning, processing problems and their answer steps, visualizing algebra, e-learning platforms, and exploring the results of surveys and interviews of students. The subjects in this study were all students who took elementary linear algebra courses in classes A1, A2, and B totaling 81 students who were gathered in one lecture class together in Building B of Tanjungpura University. Data from written tests, surveys, questionnaires, and responses were then explored descriptively to get conclusions in accordance with the problem formulation. Based on the analysis of several scientific journals on mathematical visual thinking skills in solving mathematical problems, visualization can improve the development of thinking, mathematical understanding from non-concrete to concrete. According to several journal sources reviewed, there are several ways to solve problems by implementing mathematics learning programs that increase learners' understanding and responsiveness when solving problems including: open minds approach, meansends learning, collaborative learning, trade-a-problems learning, problem and project based learning, visual thinking learning, RME, CTL, and eliminatin aplikation learning.

Abstract

Purpose: This study explore the self-determination profiles of postgraduate mathematics education students, emphasizing how autonomy, competence, and relatedness contribute to their readiness and motivation to pursue teaching as a professional career. Method: A quantitative-descriptive approach was employed, using a validated self-determination questionnaire distributed to 47 postgraduate students and alumni from 2020 to 2024. The instrument measured three SDT dimensions (autonomy, competence, and relatedness) through 24 positive and negative statements. Descriptive and comparative analyses were applied to identify dominant motivational patterns. Finding: Findings revealed high mean scores for autonomy and competence, indicating students’ confidence in decision-making and mastery of pedagogical knowledge. Relatedness also scored strongly, reflecting solid interpersonal engagement with peers and lecturers. Collectively, these outcomes depict a balanced SDT profile among future mathematics teachers. Significance: The study demonstrates that strong self-determination enhances students’ readiness to enter the teaching profession with intrinsic motivation, pedagogical confidence, and collaborative awareness. Strengthening these three SDT dimensions within teacher education curricula can cultivate mathematics educators who are reflective, adaptive, and committed to continuous professional development. This research underscores that fostering autonomy, competence, and relatedness is not only central to improving mathematics learning but also to shaping sustainable teacher professionalism in the modern educational landscape.
