Finding out how well one can solve issues involving mathematical sequences and series is the primary goal of this study. The confidence that students feel after they have solved a problem is strongly correlated with their problem-solving ability, which is why this study was carried out. A quantitative technique based on survey methodology is used in this study. Thirty students from class IXA at SMPN 8 Pontianak made up the sample for this research, which used basic random sampling to determine the population. The tool used consisted of a 26-statement self-efficacy questionnaire with Likert scale measurements and a 4-question problem-solving skill test with four indications. The results were examined by using the Spearman Rank method to the collected data. Since the study data included both ordinal and interval variables, the Spearman Rank method was used. Findings indicated that self-efficacy and problem-solving skills were unrelated.

During mathematics lessons, most teachers still used limited teaching media, such as blackboards, that tended to be monotonous. This had an impact on low motivation and learning outcomes for students. This study analyzed the effect of implementing Plickers media in the NHT type cooperative learning model on student motivation and learning outcomes in class X. The type of this research was quasi experimental with a nonequivalent posttest only control group design, using a quantitative approach. All tenth-grade students were the population. The sample used purposive sampling, with class XC consisting of 33 students as the experimental class. Data collection instruments included non-test methods such as a learning motivation questionnaire with 18 statements and a learning outcome test consisting of 5 multiple-choice questions with varying difficulty levels. The questionnaire data were converted using the Method of Successive Interval, and the students' learning outcomes were analyzed using the t-statistical test after meeting the prerequisites of homogeneity and normality. The research showed that student motivation and learning outcomes in classes that implemented Plickers media in the NHT cooperative learning model were better than in classes without Plickers media. Thus, it was concluded that applying Plickers media in the NHT type cooperative learning model significantly impacted students' motivation and learning outcomes. This research implied that applying Plickers media in the NHT type cooperative learning model could be an alternative for teachers to enhance student motivation and learning outcomes.

Problem solving skill is an essential component of mathematics learning. However, in reality, students's problem-solving skills are still low. Internal factors are among the causes that affect students in learning mathematics. One of these internal factors is mathematical self-efficacy. This study aims to examine mathematical problem solving skill in relation to the mathematical self-efficacy of eight-grade students at SMP Negeri 16 Sungai Raya on the topic of linear equations in two-variable. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive, with data collection techniques including questionnaires, written tests, and interviews. The subjects of study consisted of 6 students representing each category of mathematical self-efficacy. The results indicate that students with high mathematical self-efficacy have very good problem-solving skills. Students with moderate mathematical self-efficacy demonstrate good problem-solving skills, although they have not maximally met all problem-solving indicators. Meanwhile, students with low mathematical self-efficacy exhibit less satisfactory problem-solving skills.

This study discusses the understanding of differentiated learning in mathematics learning and its essence. The research method used is library research. Based on the results of the study, it was found that differentiated learning by paying attention to learning readiness, learning profiles, interests and talents of students is implemented to improve mathematical creative thinking skills. In addition, differentiated learning design as a solution to problems because it accommodates every student's needs and characteristics. In addition, the planned learning already includes differentiation of content, process, product, and learning environment so that efforts that can be made to overcome difficulties in learning mathematics, namely teachers can apply differentiated learning optimally.

The interest in learning mathematics among students is still considered low, with many students perceiving this subject as difficult. Learning interest is a crucial factor for achieving academic success, prompting educators to innovate and be creative in their teaching methods. One approach that can enhance student engagement is the use of interactive and appealing learning media. This study utilized the Quizizz application with the Lesson feature to explore its impact on students' interest in learning in the 12th grade at SMAN 1 Tayan Hulu. The method employed in this research is quantitative, using a quasi-experimental design with a Posttest Only Control Design model. Sampling was conducted using a Nonprobability Sampling technique, and the research instrument consisted of a questionnaire containing 25 positive statements. Data analysis was performed using SPSS Statistics 25.0 for Windows to conduct normality tests with the Kolmogorov-Smirnov method, homogeneity tests with Levene, and hypothesis testing using a t-test with a significance level of 0.05. The analysis results indicated that the t-value of 8.768 was greater than the t-table value of 2.011, indicating a significant effect of using Quizizz as an interactive media on students' interest in learning mathematics. Thus, this study demonstrates that interactive media can positively contribute to increasing students' interest in learning.

Misconceptions in integer operations remain a common challenge among junior high school students, affecting their understanding of mathematical concepts and procedures. This study aimed to remediate these misconceptions through a role-playing approach that integrates physical and contextual learning experiences. The participants were five seventh-grade students from a junior high school in West Kalimantan, Indonesia, selected based on diagnostic test results and teacher recommendations. A descriptive qualitative design was employed, with data collected through tests, observations, interviews, and documentation. The remediation process was carried out in four systematic stages involving role simulation with physical number lines, group discussions, contextual problem-solving, and reflection. The findings revealed that students successfully overcame conceptual, procedural, and operational misconceptions, while representational misconceptions decreased considerably though still persisted in some students. Role-playing proved effective in fostering engagement and conceptual reconstruction, indicating its potential as an alternative strategy for misconception remediation. Further enhancement of visualization tools, such as number line media or digital supports, is recommended to optimize learning outcomes.

Studi awal atau biasa disebut dengan pilot study merupakan studi pendahuluan yang dilakukan oleh kebanyakan peneliti sebagai suatu hal yang penting dalam proyek penelitian selanjutnya. Pada tulisan ini, penulis memaparkan hasil wawancara yang dilakukan dengan dua orang siswa kelas VIII pada salah satu sekolah menengah pertama di Kabupaten Bandung Barat terkait dengan menggali penalaran matematis siswa SMP. Wawancara dilakukan dengan menggunakan pedoman wawancara berbasis tugas geometri. Diperoleh hasil bahwa penalaran matematis kedua siswa tersebut terkait penyelesaian tugas geometri masih rendah. Siswa lebih cenderung menyelesaikan tugas secara langsung tanpa mengetahui alasan mereka menjawab tugas geometri tersebut. Preliminary study or commonly called the pilot study is a study conducted by most researchers as an important issue in future research projects. In this paper, the author present results of interviews conducted with two students in eighth grade at one of junior high school in West Bandung regency about digging their mathematical reasoning. Interviews were conducted by using a task-based geometry. The results indicate that mathematical reasoning of the students’ related to the completion of geometry task still low. Students more likely to complete tasks directly without knowing the reason they answered the geometry tasks.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur kemampuan guru matematika SMP/SMA/SMK di Pontianak dalam mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran berdasarkan Kurikulum Merdeka. Tujuan spesifiknya adalah: 1) mendeskripsikan kemampuan guru dalam menjabarkan kriteria perangkat pembelajaran Kurikulum Merdeka, dan 2) mendeskripsikan kemampuan guru dalam menjabarkan komponen perangkat pembelajaran Kurikulum Merdeka. Penelitian ini mencakup beberapa tahap: analisis teori kemampuan guru, eksplorasi karakteristik perangkat pembelajaran, identifikasi masalah, kajian perangkat pembelajaran hasil pengembangan guru, serta pengumpulan data melalui angket, wawancara, dan observasi. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan analisis data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan guru dalam mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran, khususnya dalam menjabarkan tiga komponen dan empat kriteria perangkat pembelajaran Kurikulum Merdeka, berada pada kategori baik. Namun, kemampuan dalam menjabarkan item setiap komponen dan kriteria perangkat pembelajaran berada pada kategori cukup baik.This study aims to assess the abilities of junior high, senior high, and vocational school mathematics teachers in Pontianak in developing learning tools based on the Merdeka Curriculum. Specifically, it seeks to: 1) describe teachers' abilities in detailing the criteria for Merdeka Curriculum learning tools, and 2) describe teachers' abilities in detailing the components of Merdeka Curriculum learning tools. The study includes several stages: theoretical analysis of teachers' abilities, exploration of learning tool characteristics, problem identification, review of learning tools developed by teachers, and data collection through questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The research employs a descriptive method with both qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Results indicate that teachers' abilities in developing learning tools, particularly in detailing three components and four criteria of the Merdeka Curriculum learning tools, are categorized as good. However, their ability to detail each item of the components and criteria is categorized as fair good.

Kepercayaan diri merupakan salah satu faktor penting dalam keberhasilan seseorang. Tingginya motivasi belajar seseorang akan berbanding lurus dengan peningkatan hasil belajar. Selain itu ada asumsi yang menyatakan bahwa gender mempengaruhi motivasi belajar sesorang sehingga berpengaruh juga pada hasil belajarnya. Untuk itu perlu dilakukan penelitian mengenai gender dan kepercayaan diri mempengaruhi hasil belajar mahasiswa. Penelitian kuantitatif yang dilakukan pada salah satu Universitas Negeri di Sumatera Utara bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi dampak self-efficacy dan motivasi belajar terhadap Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif (IPK) dengan mempertimbangkan perbedaan jenis kelamin. Sampel acak sederhana sebanyak 166 mahasiswa dipilih untuk desain korelasional. Data yang dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dianalisis menggunakan regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa self-efficacy dan motivasi belajar tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap IPK berdasarkan jenis kelamin. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan nilai F hitung yang tidak signifikan. Koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,086 dan koefisien determinasi sebesar 0,007 menunjukkan kecilnya pengaruh variabel-variabel tersebut terhadap varians IPK. Penelitian berikutnya harus mengeksplorasi faktor-faktor lain yang berkontribusi terhadap hasil IPK untuk pemahaman yang lebih komprehensif tentang pengaruhnya terhadap prestasi akademik. Self-efficacy is one of the important factors in one's success. The high motivation of a person to learn will be directly proportional to the increase in learning outcomes. In addition, there is an assumption that gender affects a person's learning motivation so that it also affects their learning outcomes. For this reason, it is necessary to conduct research on gender and self-efficacy affecting student learning outcomes. This quantitative study, conducted at one of the State Universities in North Sumatra aim to evaluate the impact of self-efficacy and learning motivation on Grade Point Average (GPA), considering gender differences. A simple random sample of 166 students was selected for a correlational design. Data collected through questionnaires were analyzed using multiple regression. Results indicated that neither self-efficacy nor learning motivation significantly influenced GPA based on gender, as indicated by an insignificant F-calculated value. The correlation coefficient was 0.086, and the coefficient of determination was 0.007, indicating a minimal influence of these variables on the variance of GPA. Future research should explore other factors contributing to GPA outcomes for a more comprehensive understanding of the influences on academic achievement.

The purpose of this workshop and mentoring program in general is to support government programs related to the Implementation of Merdeka Curriculum. The specific objectives are: 1) participants' understanding of the teaching modules in the independent curriculum; 2) participants' understanding of the profile of Pancasila students in the independent curriculum. This activity was carried out in the form of in service for 4 days, namely from Monday to Thursday, January 24 to 28, 2024. This activity was carried out in SD, SMP, SMA Toba Sanggau Regency. The outputs of this activity include softcopy and hardcopy of the results of service activities. Some supporting materials that need to be informed and discussed by participants as refresher material for those who have received from other sources, increase knowledge for those who do not have it, expand the horizons of knowledge for those who want to develop themselves. The materials are: Teaching Materials, Flow of Learning Objectives, Profile of Pancasila Students, Assessment, Follow-up Evaluation of Merdeka Curriculum. Participants in this service activity are all teachers involved in MGMP at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels in the Toba sub-district of Sanggau Regency. The number of teachers who participated in this activity from the beginning to the end of the activity amounted to approximately 100 MGMP teacher participants in Toba District, Ketapang Regency. The result of this service activity is the formation of a draft teaching material on the independent curriculum approved by MGMP in SD, SMP, SMA Toba, Sanggau Regency. Furthermore, the real result is the ease of access for teachers in managing teaching materials and the continuous collaboration between MGMP teachers in Toba sub-district and mathematics education lecturers at FKIP Tanjungpura University. The product obtained is a set of teaching materials on the independent curriculum suitable for school teachers and published in a publication article to an accredited national journal.
