Abstract

Critical thinking skills are essential competencies in the 21st century, so this study aims to present a systematic literature review on the role of mobile learning (m-learning) in fostering it at the higher education level by identifying trends, methodologies, effectiveness, and challenges. Following PRISMA guidelines, 20 articles from the Scopus database (2020-2025) were qualitatively analyzed. The results consistently show that m-learning interventions, especially when synergized with pedagogical models such as Problem-Based Learning (PBL), have proven significantly effective in improving students' critical thinking skills. Trend analysis reveals a geographic dominance of research from Indonesia (48.1%), with peak research productivity occurring in 2022 and dominated by R&D and quantitative approaches in the context of higher education in the fields of science and vocational studies. Despite this effectiveness, the main challenges identified are the low development of inference sub-skills and the risk of shallow learning. In conclusion, m-learning is a valid strategy; however, future research is recommended to move beyond proof-of-concept studies by focusing on increasing methodological rigor, investigating specific mechanisms between technology features and cognitive sub-skills, and expanding the research context to other disciplines to test the generalizability of the findings.

Abstract

This study aims to design an ICT-based Interactive Learning media that can improve students' understanding of learning concepts in Fiqh material and can improve the quality of learning for teachers. The method used in this research is Research and Development (R&D) research. The development model used in this research is ADDIE including: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The appointed validators will assess the material aspects and media aspects where there are 2 media validators and 2 material validators. This research was conducted at MTs. Ma'arif NU Kedungkendo. The subjects of this study were students from class VIII. Data collection using media validation sheets, material validation sheets and student response questionnaires. The results of research on the development of ICT-based Interactive Learning learning media on Fiqh material produced obtained results after going through the revision and validation stage with an average score of 85% on material validation and media validation obtained an average score of 87% so that the learning media was declared very relevant and feasible to use. The student response test stage to the feasibility of learning media obtained an average score of 90% with very attractive criteria. This shows that ICT-based Interactive Learning media can be applied in the classroom and allows it to increase students' understanding of learning concepts in Fiqh material.

Abstract

The low student interest in learning, which is still dominated by lecture methods and conventional textbooks, underlies the development of audiovisual-based learning media for the subject of Islamic Cultural History (SKI). This study aims to develop the E-SKI application based on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to improve the learning achievement of seventh-grade students at MTs Plus Bahrul Ulum. The Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model was employed, encompassing the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects consisted of 21 seventh-grade students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Content validation by experts yielded an average score of 89.3% (very good category), and media validation by media experts achieved 93.3% (very good category), indicating that the media product is feasible for trial. Field testing resulted in a score of 88.1% (good category), demonstrating that the E-SKI media on the topic “The Rightly Guided Caliphs and the Umayyad Dynasty” is effective for use in SKI learning processes. This study is expected to inspire students to utilize technology in learning, thereby maintaining motivation and enthusiasm in pursuing beneficial and sustainable knowledge.

Abstract

The appropriate use of learning media plays an important role in improving students’ understanding, particularly in Islamic Religious Education. This study is motivated by the low understanding of Grade VII C students at SMP Negeri 2 Kabuh regarding the topic of wudhu, which has so far been delivered mainly through lectures, despite the school having audio-visual facilities that have not been optimally utilized. The research aims to describe the implementation of audio-visual media in teaching wudhu, determine the improvement in students’ understanding after its use, and identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in its application. A descriptive qualitative method was employed, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings show that the use of audio-visual media, such as instructional videos, can improve students’ understanding, as reflected in their active participation in learning activities and better evaluation results. Supporting factors include the availability of supporting facilities and students’ enthusiasm, while inhibiting factors include limited instructional time and technical constraints. The study concludes that audio-visual media are effective in enhancing the quality of wudhu instruction at SMP Negeri 2 Kabuh.

Abstract

The teaching of Akidah Akhlak in schools often faces challenges in creating an engaging and interactive learning environment, necessitating innovative learning media that can enhance student involvement while strengthening content comprehension. This study aims to develop an interactive PowerPoint-based learning medium, AKFI (Akidah Akhlak Fun Learning), focused on the topic of zulm (wrongdoing), and to assess its feasibility and effectiveness. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which includes five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The study involved 22 students from class X IPS 1 at MA Al-Bairuny Sambongdukuh, Jombang. Validation results indicated a very high level of feasibility, with scores of 92% from the subject matter expert and 97.34% from the media expert. Field testing yielded a score of 89.32%, falling within the "highly appropriate" category. These findings demonstrate that the AKFI media is both feasible and effective in enhancing the quality of Akidah Akhlak learning, and is well aligned with student needs and characteristics.

Abstract

Objective: This study examines the development and research potential of technology integration in physics education related to Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) from 2016 to 2025. By mapping global scientific publications, this study identifies research trends, collaboration patterns, and emerging technological innovations that support inclusive and high-quality physics education. Method: A bibliometric analysis, combined with a systematic literature review following the PRISMA protocol, was employed. Data were retrieved from the Scopus database, resulting in 27,322 documents published between 2016 and 2025. After applying PRISMA screening stages—identification, screening, eligibility, and inclusion—5 articles were selected for detailed analysis. Bibliometric mapping was conducted using VOSviewer and Bibliometrix (R-package) to visualize publication growth, author productivity, collaboration networks, and keyword co-occurrence.  Results:  The results indicate a significant increase in publications on technology-based physics learning, particularly after 2021, reflecting accelerated digital transformation in science education. The United States, India, China, and Indonesia are the most productive countries, demonstrating global participation in this research area. Keyword analysis highlights “education,” “sustainable development,” “engineering education,” and “technology” as dominant themes. At the same time, emerging topics such as “machine learning” and “augmented reality” indicate growing interest in advanced digital tools for physics learning.  Novelty: This study provides a comprehensive bibliometric mapping of technology integration in physics education within the SDG 4 framework. It identifies future research directions involving artificial intelligence, immersive learning technologies, and innovative digital pedagogies.
