Abstract

This study aims to describe the pattern of creativity in mathematical problem posing among students with moderate mathematical ability across different situations. Creativity is analyzed through three indicators: fluency, flexibility, and novelty. This qualitative descriptive study involved students of the Primary School Teacher Education Program (PGSD) at Universitas Negeri Makassar, selected using purposive sampling based on moderate mathematical ability test results. Data were collected through mathematical problem-posing tasks involving free, semi structured, and structured situations, supported by semi-structured interviews. The findings indicate that students with moderate mathematical ability demonstrate relatively consistent fluency across situations, as they are able to generate several relevant mathematical problems. However, flexibility and novelty are limited and fluctuate depending on the characteristics of the situation. Free and semi-structured situations provide more opportunities for idea variation, while structured situations tend to restrict creativity, resulting in routine and procedural problems. These results highlight the importance of designing adaptive problem posing situations to support the development of students’ mathematical creativity. These results suggest that instructional designs incorporating adaptive and balanced problem posing situations are essential to support the development of flexibility and novelty in students’ mathematical creativity.

Abstract

Metacognitive skills is essential for solving complex mathematical problems, particularly in higher-order ordinary differential equations that require structured reasoning and reflection. This study aimed to describe university students’ metacognitive skilss profiles in solving higher-order differential equation problems based on their mathematical ability levels. A qualitative case study approach was employed. The population consisted of 43 students from Universitas Negeri Makassar who had enrolled in the Ordinary Differential Equations course. Three students were purposively selected to represent high, moderate, and low mathematical ability levels. Data were collected through problem-solving tests and semi-structured interviews. The data were analyzed qualitatively using the stages of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, guided by three metacognitive indicators: planning, monitoring, and evaluation. The results showed that students with high mathematical ability demonstrated strong metacognitive awareness by effectively planning, monitoring, and evaluating their problem-solving processes. Students with moderate mathematical ability were able to plan and monitoting their solutions but experienced difficulties in evaluating their work. In contrast, Students with low mathematical ability can maximally fulfill one metacognitive indicator; Planning indicators. Students make a calculation error in the strategy that has been designed so it results in the final result of the answer. These findings highlight the need for instructional strategies that explicitly foster metacognitive awareness to support students in solving advanced differential equation problems.

Abstract

Terumbu karang merupakan salah satu ekosistem pesisir yang memiliki keanekaragaman hayati tinggi dan berperan penting dalam menjaga keseimbangan ekosistem laut. Perairan Pulau Karampuang di Provinsi Sulawesi Barat dikenal sebagai kawasan wisata bahari dengan potensi ekosistem terumbu karang yang cukup luas. Namun, aktivitas wisata dan tekanan lingkungan berpotensi memengaruhi kondisi terumbu karang di wilayah ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kondisi terumbu karang yang terdapat di perairan Pulau Karampuang. Penelitian ini berlokasi di Pulau Karampuang dengan mengambil enam titik pengamatan sebagai keterwakilan kondisi terumbu karang. Metode pengamatan yang digunakan yaitu dengan metode UPT (Underwater Photo Transect). Pada setiap stasiun penelitian dipasang transek sepanjang 50 m sejajar garis pantai, sepanjang transek tersebut dilakukan pengambilan foto bawah air secara sistematis dengan bidang foto berukuran 1 × 1 m sehingga diperoleh sejumlah foto yang merepresentasikan kondisi terumbu karang pada satu stasiun. Parameter utama yang dianalisis adalah persentase tutupan karang hidup (coral cover), yang dihitung berdasarkan kategori hard coral (HC). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kondisi terumbu karang hidup (coral cover) di Pulau Karampuang dalam kategori “Buruk” sampai “Baik”. Terdapat dua stasiun dalam kodisi baik, tiga dalam kondisi “Sedang” dan satu stasiun dalam kondisi “Buruk”. Berdasarkan variasi kondisi terumbu karang tersebut, diperlukan pengelolaan terumbu karang yang terintegrasi serta monitoring jangka panjang, terutama pada stasiun dengan kondisi sedang hingga buruk, guna mendukung upaya konservasi dan keberlanjutan ekosistem terumbu karang di Pulau Karampuang.

Abstract

The low effectiveness of mathematics learning in secondary schools remains a significant challenge, particularly in relation to teachers’ difficulties in presenting abstract concepts, selecting appropriate instructional strategies, and responding to students’ diverse learning abilities. This condition indicates the need to strengthen teaching practices through reflective and participatory activities that are grounded in real classroom problems. This community service activity aimed to strengthen the teaching practices of mathematics teachers in Gowa Regency through the identification of teaching difficulties as a basis for formulating contextual and applicable learning solutions. The implementation method employed a participatory approach consisting of planning, implementation, and reflection stages. During the implementation stage, teachers were divided into several working groups based on teaching level and teaching experience. Each group conducted focused discussions to identify experienced teaching difficulties, analyze contributing factors, and formulate alternative instructional solutions. Activity data were obtained from group worksheets, discussion results, and group presentations. The activity involved thirty mathematics teachers who were divided into five groups, each consisting of six participants. The results indicated that the first and second groups predominantly identified difficulties in presenting abstract concepts and low student participation, the third group emphasized constraints in selecting instructional models, the fourth group revealed difficulties in learning assessment, and the fifth group highlighted limitations in instructional media. The benefits obtained included increased teachers’ reflective awareness, improved ability to systematically analyze instructional problems, and the development of alternative solutions that were relevant to classroom contexts. This activity confirms that active teacher involvement in identifying teaching difficulties represents an important and innovative approach to strengthening teaching practices based on authentic school needs.

Abstract

Training on Using Handheld GPS at SMK Negeri 05 Barru aims to increase students' knowledge and skills in utilizing Global Positioning System (GPS) technology for navigation and mapping purposes. This training includes an introduction to basic GPS functions, operating techniques, as well as practical applications in education and industry. The methods used include theory sessions and direct practice, so that students can understand comprehensively. The results of the training show an increase in students' understanding of the use of GPS, which is expected to support their competence in facing challenges in the world of work. In addition, this training encourages students to be more active in exploring technology and innovation in relevant fields. It is hoped that similar activities can be carried out on an ongoing basis to optimize the technical skills of students at SMK Negeri 05 Barru.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gambaran penguasaan konsep dan prosedural dalam menyelesaikan masalah pada materi tiga dimensi berdasarkan tahap Polya ditinjau dari tingkat kemampuan awal matematika siswa. Penelitian dilakukan di SMAN 11 Makassar pada siswa kelas XI MIA 6. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan instrumen tes kemampuan awal, tes pemecahan masalah dimensi tiga, dan wawancara. Dari tes kemampuan awal terhadap 36 siswa, diperoleh 7 siswa dengan kemampuan awal tinggi, dan dipilih 2 siswa di antaranya yang memiliki skor tertinggi sebagai subjek. Selain itu, 16 siswa dikategorikan memiliki kemampuan awal sedang, dan dipilih 2 siswa di antaranya dengan skor tertinggi sebagai subjek. Keempat subjek tersebut diberikan tes pemecahan masalah dimensi tiga dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: Profil siswa dengan kemampuan matematika tinggi berdasarkan langkah-langkah Polya lebih familiar dengan konsep Polya secara konseptual. Siswa dapat menerapkan strategi-strategi penyelesaian masalah dengan menggunakan kemampuan berdasarkan ketepatan dalam menghubungkan konsep simbol dan mengoperasikan simbol untuk menemukan solusi dari masalah yang diberikan. Siswa yang memiliki kemampuan sesuai langkah Polya hanya sampai pada tahap memahami. Sedangkan siswa yang tidak mengikuti langkah Polya secara matematis masih memiliki keterbatasan dalam menggunakan konsep yang diperlukan, sehingga kedua subjek masih melakukan kesalahan dalam menyelesaikan soal. Siswa menerapkan strategi penyelesaian berdasarkan kemampuan ketepatan dalam menghubungkan simbol dan mengoperasikan simbol tersebut untuk menemukan solusi dari masalah yang diberikan. Konsep dan prosedur pada subjek juga perlu disempurnakan. Profil prosedural siswa dengan kemampuan tinggi menunjukkan kesesuaian dengan tahap Polya tanpa adanya kesalahan prosedural, berbeda dengan siswa yang memiliki kemampuan sedang sesuai langkah Polya, yang menunjukkan adanya kesalahan pada dua langkah prosedural.

Abstract

Mempersiapkan mahasiswa agar memiliki kemampuan dasar suatu konsep menjadi tujuan pembelajaran di perguruan tinggi. Kemampuan dasar mahasiswa menjadi salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi kemampuan lanjutannya. Oleh karena itu, kemajuan kemampuan dasar dianggap sebagai variabel penting dalam proses pembelajaran. Pentingnya kemampuan dasar ini, mengarahkan kita untuk mencari tahu apakah kegiatan perkuliahan yang diberikan kepada mahasiswa mengarahkan mereka untuk mengembangkan dengan baik kemampuan dasar tersebut? Di dalam penelitian ini, dianalisis kemampuan dasar suatu konsep khususnya konsep Aljabar Linear Lanjut, dan instruksi yang mendukung pembelajaran kemajuan kemampuan dasar Aljabar Linear Lanjut. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan metode mixed method dengan subjek penelitian yaitu 3 orang mahasiswa semester 5 pada program studi pendidikan matematika. Analisis kuantitatif menggunakan N-Gain untuk mengukur kemajuan kemampuan dasar subjek, serta analisis kualitatif terhadap hasil tugas dan proyek pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ditemukan bahwa terdapat kemajuan kemampuan dasar Aljabar Linear Lanjut, terdapat 67 % mahasiswa yang sudah mencapai Level 3, yaitu tingkat analisis mendalam. Mahasiswa mampu menganalisis bagaimana bentuk vektor yang memenuhi aksioma sehingga termasuk dalam ruang vektor umum, bagaimana subruang-subruang vektor, memahami mengapa dimensi memiliki sifat-sifat tertentu, dan bagaimana vektor yang bergantung linear dapat menjadi vektor yang bebas linear.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran workshop pembuatan mading OSIS dalam meningkatkan kreativitas, literasi, dan keterampilan kerja sama siswa SMPN 19 Moncongloe. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan desain studi kasus, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model Miles, Huberman, dan Saldaña. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa workshop pembuatan mading memberikan dampak positif yang signifikan terhadap perkembangan kreativitas siswa, baik dalam menulis maupun desain grafis. Selain itu, kegiatan ini mampu meningkatkan kemampuan literasi siswa, yang mencakup keterampilan membaca, menulis, serta literasi visual. Workshop juga memperkuat keterampilan sosial siswa melalui kerja sama tim, tanggung jawab, dan kemampuan mengelola proyek bersama. Lebih lanjut, kegiatan ini berkontribusi pada terciptanya lingkungan sekolah yang interaktif dan inspiratif serta mempersiapkan siswa menghadapi tantangan masa depan yang menuntut keterampilan komunikasi visual dan kreativitas. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa workshop pembuatan mading dapat menjadi strategi efektif dalam pengembangan karakter, kompetensi, dan literasi siswa di sekolah menengah.

Abstract

One aspect that is very necessary for every level of education in the world of education, especially in Indonesia, is character education and adaptation training to the development of the times because schools are one of the places where students form their personalities and also their abilities in facing society and the world of work. The purpose of this study is to further discuss the relationship between technological innovation and teacher professionalism in improving the quality of character education and literacy of changing times in the context of inclusive learning. The author uses primary studies as a reference, where the main findings show that professional teachers become facilitators and moral role models in integrating learning technology to shape the character of students. Digital literacy is considered capable of improving values such as honesty, responsibility, cooperation and problem-solving skills. In addition, education based on changing times must be integrated into the learning curriculum in order to improve students' adaptability in the development of the times through continuous learning and integrated activities. The results of this study emphasize the need to improve the ability to utilize technology for teachers and an active learning approach to achieve the goals of character development and saman literacy in inclusive education.

Abstract

In the 21st century, students are expected to master the 4C skills: creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration, in order to remain competitive in a globalized world. However, the integration of these skills into mathematics learning, particularly within the context of Islamic education, remains suboptimal. This study aims to identify and analyze mathematics learning strategies that enhance students' 4C skills through a systematic literature review. The research employed the PRISMA method to guide the selection of relevant articles. A total of 47 articles published between 2016 and 2025 were initially identified from the Google Scholar database, and 15 met the inclusion criteria for final analysis. The review found that Project-Based Learning (PjBL), Problem-Based Learning (PBL), STEM approaches, and other innovative strategies significantly contribute to the development of students' 4C competencies. These strategies foster active engagement, encourage creative and critical problem-solving, and enhance both communication and collaboration in mathematics learning. The findings emphasize the importance of adopting more student-centered learning models that support the development of 4C skills. This study offers valuable insights for curriculum developers and educators in designing effective mathematics instruction that equips students to face global challenges.
