Abstract

The people of the Siberut Mentawai islands still maintain various arts and practice the culture and customs of their ancestors. They have natural environment ornaments including tattoos and Jaraik, which is a symbol of the greatness of the Sikerei (Shaman) house in the Mentawai tribe.  Along with the progress and development of the Mentawai area, traditional culture began to shift, therefore it is necessary to carry out conservation and development efforts. So, the purpose of this research is the efforts to preserve and produce creative art products based on local wisdom by transforming tattoos, jaraik, and other Mentawai natural environments in batik art and uniting various elements of visual cultural arts as supporting elements. The method used is research and development adopting the 4 D steps with four stages of development design, development, and deployment. In addition, the study also conducted studies of art and aesthetics, design and fashion as well as analysis of market tastes. So, the outputs of this research are; prototypes of batik art innovation products based on local Mentawai culture that are market-worthy; and scientific articles in reputable international journals. Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and product feasibility tests were carried out by experts and product exhibitions which were used as Mentawai branding.

Abstract

Textile waste is one of the 2nd largest types of waste in the world. The increasing amount of textile waste will have an impact on the environment. There has not been much development of clothing with Zero Waste techniques in Indonesia, and students as social beings also play an important role in environmental renewal through waste reduction. The purpose of this research is to understand the level of knowledge of fashion students about Zero Waste Pattern based on the level of cognitive knowledge, namely knowledge, understanding, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation. The method in this research is descriptive quantitative with one variable, namely knowledge about Zero Waste Pattern. The research sample was 78 respondents of active Fashion Cosmetology students of the Family Welfare Education Study Program at Padang State University, class of 2019-2022. Data collection using a questionnaire with the Gutman Scale. The results showed that the knowledge of fashion students about Zero Waste Pattern was measured based on six knowledge indicators, namely: knowledge, understanding, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation. The results showed that the Knowledge Indicator percentage was 56.41%, the Understanding Indicator percentage was 62.82% (high category), the Application Indicator percentage was 64.10%, the Analysis Indicator percentage was 57.69%, the Synthesis Indicator percentage was 80.77% and the Evaluation Indicator percentage was 74.36%. So, it can be concluded that the Fashion Management Students' Knowledge of Zero Waste Pattern is at a “high” level with an average percentage of 79.49%.

Abstract

Abstrak  Pewarnaan alam dapat menjadi salah satu altenatif pewarnaan batik karena aman digunakan dan ramah lingkungan. Penelitian ini membahas tentang pewarnaan alam pada batik di Rumah Batik Pariangan Kecamatan Pariangan Kabupaten Tanah Datar yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bahan alam yang digunakan, proses pembuatan ekstrak warna alam, proses pewarnaan alam dan resep pembuattan ekstrak dan resep pewarnaan alam. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan jenis data primer dan sekunder. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data dan kesimpulan. Hasil dalam penelitian ini menggunakan 4 jenis bahan alam yaitu daun jati, kulit, kayu mahoni, kulit jengkol dan daun alpukat. Fiksasi yang digunakan yaitu tawas, kapur sirih dan tunjung. Proses pembuatan ekstrak dengan cara mempersiapkan alat dan bahan, menghitung zat yang di butuhkan. Untuk ekstraksi daun jati, kulit kayu mahoni dan daun alpukat dilakukan dengan cara perebusan menjadi 1/2 ekstrak dan untuk ekstraksi kulit jengkol yang dilakukan dengan cara merendam kulit jengkol semalaman  dan dilakukan perebusan menjadi 1/2 ekstrak. Proses pewarnaan dimulai dari pencelupan TRO/Rinso, pencelupan dengan ekstrak warna alam yang dilakukan sebanyak 5 kali dilanjut penguncian warna dengan fiksator. Resep TRO/Rinso menggunakan 20 gram dengan 4 liter air. Resep pembuatan ekstrak warna alam menggunakan Vlot 1:5 dan vlot 1:6, untuk fiksasi menggunakan vlot 1:10. Kata Kunci: Bahan Alam, Proses Pembuatan Ekstrak

Abstract

This research was motivated by the effect of mordant mixture on the results of kenikir leaf  ecoprint.  The  purpose  of  this  study  is  to  describe  the  direction  of  color  names, clarity of motifs and the effect of mordant mixtures on ecoprint results. This research is  experimental  descriptive  quantitative  research  conducted  by  making  an  ecoprint with steam blanket technique with the combination of 3 mordants. The mordants used were alum, arbor, soda abu, sodium acetate and whiting. The natural motif used was kenikir  leaves  (cosmos  caudatus).  The  dye  used  is  secang.  The  type  of  data  in  this study  is  primary  data  with  data  collection  techniques  in  the  form  of  questionnaires. The data analysis technique uses frequency percentages and uses the SPSS (Statistical Product And Service Solution) Version 27.0 program. The color name direction of the leaves  using  a  mixture  of  alum,  arbor,  and  soda  abu  produces  an  olive  color.  A mixture  of  alum,  arbor,  and  sodium  acetate  produces  a  dark  brown  color.  The mixture of alum, arbor, and whiting produces a dark Olive Green color.  The results of  the  motif  clarity  test  with  a  mixture  of  alum,  arbor,  soda  abu  are  categorized  as clear, a mixture of alum, arbor, sodium acetate is categorized as clear while a mixture of alum, arbor, and whiting is categorized as unclear.

Abstract

The Flat Pattern course offers instruction in the theoretical and practical aspects of creating broken patterns in accordance with design specifications. To ensure optimal learning outcomes, it is essential to provide students with updated, engaging, and practical learning media. This updated learning medium has the potential to enhance student learning outcomes and address the challenges commonly encountered in flat-pattern courses. The objective of this study is to develop a video tutorial learning medium for the slash method pattern-breaking technique using the Richpeace CAD application in a flat pattern design course. This study employs the 4D Research and Development Model method, which comprises the following four stages: The four stages of the 4D Research and Development Model method are as follows: define, design, develop, and disseminate. The alpha test stage was employed to validate this video tutorial media product with the participation of two media experts and two material content validators. The study included 35 students from the IKK FPP UNP who had previously undertaken courses in Flat Pattern Design. The data were collected through the use of validation sheets completed by media experts and an analysis of the material content, as well as through the administration of questionnaires to students regarding video tutorial media. Subsequently, the data were subjected to descriptive statistical analysis.

Abstract

Facing the complexity of life's challenges In this 21st century, students must be prepared with high-level soft skills so they can compete effectively in the dynamics of this era of globalization. The purpose of this research is to show the Project Based Learning (PjBL) learning model affects students' soft skills in critical and creative thinking. In order to identify the Project Based Learning learning model, a review of relevant literature is conducted as part of the meta analysis research method. After reviewing the literature, research characteristics and determined article analysis criteria, a sample of 25 articles was obtained that met the requirements for this meta-research. The effectiveness of the Project Based Learning learning model for junior high school students shows a medium effect size (0,68), while the high category is tained for elementary school students (2,41), SMA/SMK (1.79) and tertiary institutions (1,30). The effectiveness of the Project Base Learning learning model based on soft skills achieved resulted in a high category effect size for achieving critical thinking (1,33), creative (1,69) learning motivation (1,33). This is a fairly large impact according to Cohen's criteria and shows that the Project Based Learning learning model is more effective in education in improving critical and creative thinking soft skills and can increase students' learning motivation.

Abstract

Pembelajaran Teaching Factory dapat memberikan peserta didik pengalaman industri langsung serta paparan terhadap dunia kewirausahaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pembelajaran Teaching Factory berbasis unit produksi, mengetahui kesiapan berwirausaha siswa Tata Busana sebelum mengikuti pembelajaran Teaching Factory, mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran Teaching Factory berbasis unit produksi terhadap kesiapan berwirausaha siswa Tata Busana di SMKN 1 Ampek Angkek. Metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan korelasional dengan teknik total sampling, melibatkan 82 siswa. Hasil penelitian diketahui pembelajaran Teaching Factory siswa Tata Busana di SMKN 1 Ampek Angkek sebesar 80% dengan kategori baik. Sedangkan kesiapan berwirausaha siswa Tata Busana sebesar 82% dengan kategori baik, kedua variabel diukur dengan menggunakan kriteria TCR. Berdasarkan analisis regresi linear sederhana, terdapat pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan antara pembelajaran Teaching Factory terhadap kesiapan berwirausaha siswa Tata Busana di SMKN 1 Ampek Angkek, dibuktikan dengan uji T dengan model regresi linear sederhana dengan perolehan nilai signifikansi 0,000 < 0,05 dan Thitung> Ttabel (10.502 >1,99). Hal ini menunjukkan nilai positif, dapat disimpulkan semakin tinggi pengaruh pembelajaran Teaching Factory maka makin tinggi juga kesiapan berwirausaha siswa Tata Busana di SMKN 1 Ampek Angkek. Pengaruh pembelajaran Teaching Factory terhadap kesiapan berwirausaha dalam penelitian ini sebesar 58% dan 42% dipengaruhi oleh variabel lainnya.

Abstract

In the textile dyeing course at suminagashi technique material, student still face challenges in following the motifs making procedures contained in the module, this causes students to fail to carry out the suminagashi technique so they have to repeat it. One of the efforts made to overcome these difficulties is to developing video tutorial media that can visualize the steps for performing the suminagashi technique. Valid and practical learning videos on making motifs using the suminagashi technique are still limited, which is the reason for conducting this research. This study aims to create a video tutorial that is proven valid and practical regarding making motifs using the suminagashi technique in the textile dyeing course for FPP-UNP Fashion Design students. Research and Development (RD) is the research method used in this research. The RD model used in this study is the 4D model. 4D stands for Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. But, this study was conducted only up to the development stage. The percentage of media validity has a value of 91.5% and the percentage of material validity has a value of 82%. Both results are categorized as very valid based on the level of validity criterion. The percentage of small-scale practical trials has a value of 92.8%, the percentage of large-scale practical trials has a value of 88.5%, and the percentage of lecturer practical trials has a value of 97%. The three results are categorized as very practical based on the level of practicality criterion. Based on the data from the research, it can be concluded that the video tutorial for making motifs with the suminagashi technique in the Textile Dyeing course is very valid and very practical, so it can be used in the lecture process. Pada mata kuliah pewarnaan tekstil di materi teknik suminagashi mahasiswa masih menghadapi tantangan dalam mengikuti prosedur pembuatan motif yang terdapat dalam modul, hal ini menyebabkan mahasiswa gagal melakukan teknik suminagashi sehingga harus mengulanginya. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi kesulitan tersebut yaitu dengan melakukan pengembangan media video tutorial yang dapat memvisualisasikan langkah-langkah melakukan teknik suminagashi. Video pembelajaran yang valid dan praktis mengenai pembuatan motif dengan teknik suminagashi masih terbatas, sehingga menjadi alasan untuk melakukan penelitian ini. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan yaitu menciptakan video tutorial yang teruji valid dan praktis mengenai pembuatan motif menggunakan teknik suminagashi dalam mata kuliah pewarnaan tekstil untuk mahasiswa Tata Busana FPP-UNP. Research and Development (RD) merupakan metode penelitain yang digunakan pada penelitian ini. Model RD yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu model 4D. 4D merupakan singkatan dari Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate. Namun penelitian ini dilakukan hanya sampai pada tahap develop. Persentase validitas media memiliki nilai 91,5% dan persentase validitas materi memiliki nilai 82%. Kedua hasil tersebut dikategorikan sangat valid berdasarkan tingkat pencapaian kriteria validitas. Persentase uji coba praktikalitas skala kecil memiliki nilai 92,8%, persentase uji praktikalitas skala besar memiliki nilai 88,5%, dan persentase uji praktikalitas dosen memiliki nilai 97%. Ketiga hasil tersebut dikategorikan sangat praktis berdasarkan tingkat pencapaian kriteria kepraktisan. Berdasarkan data dari penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa video tutorial tentang pembuatan motif dengan teknik suminagashi dalam mata kuliah Pewarnaan Tekstil sangat valid dan sangat praktis, sehingga dapat digunakan dalam proses perkuliahan tersebut.
