Abstract

This study aims to examine the principal's management in improving teacher competence at MTsN 2 Makassar City. In addition, the study seeks to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of efforts to enhance teacher competence, as well as to explore the principal's role in designing and implementing teacher competence improvement programs at MTsN 2 Makassar City. This research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. This approach was chosen because the study aims to describe and understand in depth the phenomenon of the principal's management in enhancing teacher competence at MTsN 2 Makassar City. The qualitative method allows data to be gathered from the participants’ perspectives, thus providing a clear picture of the principal's role in teacher competence development. The results of the study indicate that the principal's management in improving teacher competence at MTsN 2 Makassar City is carried out through academic qualification enhancement, continuous training, regular supervision, as well as motivation and reward systems. The principal actively encourages teachers to participate in both internal and external training, monitors their progress, and aligns teaching with technological advancements and student needs. The supporting factors in improving teacher competence include appropriate academic qualifications, institutional support through training and supervision, and teachers’ motivation for professional growth. The inhibiting factors involve mismatches between educational background and subjects taught, limited access to external training, and challenges in adapting to technology. However, institutional support, supervision, and internal motivation help overcome these obstacles. The principal’s role in enhancing teacher competence is strategic and comprehensive, covering training, supervision, reward systems, and periodic evaluations. This approach leads to improved teacher competence, which positively affects teaching quality and student achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the role of school principal leadership in developing teacher professionalism at SMK Negeri Tapango, West Sulawesi. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with data collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The primary informants included the Principal, Vice Principals, and selected teachers. Data were analyzed through reduction, presentation, and verification using source and method triangulation. The findings reveal that the principal of SMK Negeri Tapango applies a transformational leadership style, combined with a familial and collaborative approach. The principal acts as an inspirator, facilitator, and provides individual support for teachers’ professional growth. Professional development is carried out in a structured and sustainable manner through training, workshops, benchmarking activities, field mentoring, and professional learning communities. These strategies have effectively enhanced the teachers' pedagogical, professional, social, and personal competencies, which in turn have improved their motivation and teaching quality. Supporting factors for successful professional development include government policy support, BOS (School Operational Assistance) funding, strong collegiality among teachers, and the availability of information technology. The main obstacles identified are limited ICT infrastructure, resistance from a minority of teachers to change, and high workloads. The principal addresses these challenges through adaptive approaches, collaborative solutions, and continuous evaluation. This study reinforces the relevance of transformational leadership theory in the context of vocational education and offers a model of best practice for teacher professional development in vocational high schools.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate how the principal's instructional leadership at SDN 001 Center Mambi, Mamasa Regency, serves as a catalyst for the Merdeka Curriculum's implementation.  This study's backdrop is the important role that school principals play in spearheading learning change, particularly in the context of the Merdeka Curriculum framework, which prioritizes teacher collaboration, student-centered learning, and learning freedom.  In order to gain a comprehensive knowledge of the principal's instructional leadership techniques, this study employs a qualitative methodology with a case study design.  Purposively, the research site was chosen, and the principal, instructors, and students participated in in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation studies to gather data. The interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana—which incorporates data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing—was employed in the data analysis technique.  Triangulation of source, technique, and time was used to guarantee the validity of the data.  The findings demonstrated that the principal exhibited effective instructional leadership by organizing school activities, monitoring student progress, encouraging teacher cooperation, and cultivating a positive learning environment.  In addition, the principal set an example by adjusting to curricular modifications and encouraging educators to use creativity in the classroom.  The successful implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at the school level was largely due to this leadership.

Abstract

Resources have a very important role in training programs to improve their efficiency and effectiveness. The purpose of this study is (1) to describe the use of resources in the training program to improve efficiency and effectiveness (2) to explain the impact of lack of human resources in the training program. This research was compiled and described using qualitative methods with literature review techniques. Meanwhile, the data analysis was carried out in a qualitative descriptive manner which was carried out after collecting literature data. The results showed that (1) using resources well, training programs can run more efficiently, produce better results, and provide greater added value for participants and organizing organizations; (2) lack of human resources can hinder the achievement of the objectives of the training program and reduce the value obtained by participants. Therefore, it is important to ensure that the training program has sufficient and competent manpower to support effective and quality operations. By utilizing the resources in the training program optimally, the training program can achieve efficiency in the use of time and budget, as well as effectiveness in achieving the learning objectives set

Abstract

Learning supervision is an important component in developing teacher competence to optimize the learning process. The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum demands a reorientation of supervision from conventional hierarchical approaches toward more collaborative and empowering coaching and mentoring approaches. This study aims to understand the implementation of learning supervision through mentoring activities and identify supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation at UPTD SMP Negeri 3 Tobadak, Mamuju Tengah Regency. This study employed a qualitative approach with descriptive case study research design. Data collection was conducted through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Research subjects included the principal, vice principal for curriculum affairs, and teachers. Data analysis used the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model. The results show that learning supervision is implemented through coaching and mentoring approaches in three main stages: pre-observation, observation, and post-observation. Supporting factors include high teacher motivation and collaboration, availability of technology infrastructure, the principal as a Technology Ambassador role model, and effective school learning communities. Inhibiting factors include teacher activities outside their main duties, unconducive school environment conditions, and limited internet connectivity. This study concludes that learning supervision with coaching and mentoring approaches proves effective in improving teacher competence and learning quality.

Abstract

Pelatihan Identifikasi Sumber Daya untuk Pengembangan Sekolah bertujuan meningkatkan kemampuan pendidik dan tenaga kependidikan dalam menganalisis potensi internal dan eksternal sekolah sebagai dasar penyusunan program pengembangan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan melalui pemaparan konsep, diskusi kelompok, simulasi instrumen identifikasi, dan analisis data. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan peningkatan kompetensi peserta dalam memahami jenis-jenis sumber daya, melakukan pemetaan potensi, serta menyusun rekomendasi pengembangan sekolah berbasis data. Selain itu, pelatihan mendorong kolaborasi antarpendidik dalam merumuskan strategi pemanfaatan sumber daya untuk mendukung mutu pendidikan.

Abstract

Budaya lokal memiliki peranan krusial dalam membentuk cara berpikir, motivasi, dan strategi ekonomi masyarakat. Artikel ini mengkaji peran budaya Bugis–Makassar dalam membentuk mindset kewirausahaan pelaku Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) di Kota Makassar. Fokus penelitian diarahkan pada nilai-nilai kultural seperti siri’ na pacce, reso’, keberanian, serta jaringan kekerabatan yang menjadi ciri khas masyarakat Bugis–Makassar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik wawancara mendalam, observasi, serta dokumentasi terhadap pelaku UMKM dari berbagai sektor ekonomi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa budaya Bugis–Makassar berperan signifikan dalam membentuk habitus kewirausahaan berupa etos kerja tinggi, keberanian mengambil risiko, dan orientasi pada kehormatan serta tanggung jawab sosial. Namun, nilai budaya tertentu juga berdampak pada hambatan inovasi dan adaptasi pasar. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi agar program pengembangan UMKM mengintegrasikan pendekatan responsif budaya untuk menciptakan ekosistem kewirausahaan yang lebih adaptif, inklusif, dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah: 1) menganalisis bentuk modal sosial yang berkembang di antara pelaku UMKM yang berjualan di kawasan Car Free Day (CFD) Kota Makassar, 2) mengidentifikasi peran jejaring usaha dalam memperkuat keberlangsungan UMKM, serta 3) memahami strategi para pelaku usaha dalam menghadapi tantangan melalui pemanfaatan modal sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan pelaku UMKM yang berjualan secara rutin di CFD, observasi aktivitas perdagangan di lokasi, dan dokumentasi pendukung seperti materi promosi dan catatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modal sosial dalam bentuk kepercayaan, norma kebersamaan, dan jaringan informal menjadi kekuatan utama yang menopang aktivitas usaha di CFD. Jejaring usaha yang terbangun melalui hubungan antar pedagang, komunitas olahraga, dan pelanggan tetap terbukti berperan dalam memperluas pasar, meningkatkan visibilitas produk, dan membuka peluang kolaboratif. Penelitian juga menemukan bahwa tantangan seperti persaingan harga, ketidakpastian lokasi, serta keterbatasan modal dapat diminimalkan melalui strategi berbasis modal sosial, termasuk kolaborasi penjualan dan koordinasi komunitas pedagang. Analisis data menegaskan pentingnya penguatan modal sosial sebagai strategi keberlanjutan UMKM urban. Implikasi penelitian ini menunjukkan perlunya dukungan kebijakan, pelatihan pemasaran digital, dan fasilitasi jejaring bisnis untuk meningkatkan kapasitas UMKM di kawasan CFD Makassar.

Abstract

Perempuan memiliki peran penting dalam pengembangan ekonomi melalui sektor Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) di kabupaten Takalar, Galesong. UMKM berfungsi strategis dalam mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi, menyerap tenaga kerja, mendistribusikan hasil pembangunan, serta memperkuat ketahanan ekonomi di tingkat lokal. Data menunjukkan bahwa sekitar 65% UMKM dikelola oleh perempuan, yang turut berkontribusi dalam menstabilkan ekonomi keluarga, mengurangi tingkat kemiskinan, dan mendukung pembangunan yang berkelanjutan. Peran perempuan dalam UMKM terlihat pada empat aspek utama, yaitu penyediaan modal, produksi, distribusi, dan pemasaran. Kegiatan ini umumnya dilakukan dari rumah dan berada di sektor informal, seperti perdagangan, pengolahan makanan, dan kerajinan tangan. Meski memiliki potensi besar, perempuan pengusaha UMKM di Galesong menghadapi sejumlah kendala. Akses modal terbatas karena minimnya aset atau jaminan, sehingga usaha sulit berkembang. Beban ganda yang harus ditanggung dalam mengurus rumah tangga dan usaha menimbulkan tekanan fisik dan emosional. Keterbatasan dalam pengetahuan, kemampuan manajemen, dan teknologi juga membatasi pengelolaan usaha serta pemanfaatan pemasaran digital. Selain itu, stigma sosial, rendahnya kepercayaan diri, dan terbatasnya jaringan pasar lokal menghambat inovasi dan perkembangan usaha. Faktor infrastruktur yang belum memadai serta aturan yang kompleks juga menjadi tantangan tambahan. Hasil penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya strategi pemberdayaan yang menyeluruh, meliputi dukungan finansial, pelatihan manajemen dan literasi digital, perluasan akses pasar, serta kebijakan yang mendukung kesetaraan gender. Langkah tersebut esensial untuk memperkuat kontribusi perempuan terhadap perekonomian lokal dan mendorong pertumbuhan UMKM yang berkelanjutan di Kabupaten Takalar, Galesong.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to outline the principal's instructional leadership strategies for implementing the Merdeka Curriculum at SDN 006 Rantebulahan in Mamasa Regency. The principal's leadership style, motivating and impeding elements, and attempts to overcome implementation obstacles are among the topics covered. This study used a case study design and a qualitative methodology. Documentation, in-depth interviews, and observation were used to gather data. Teachers, administrative staff, and the principal were the research subjects. The Miles and Huberman model, which comprises data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, was used to examine the data. According to the findings, the principal is crucial in defining the school's goals and objectives, planning lessons in accordance with the Merdeka Curriculum, enhancing teachers' methods, and creating a supportive learning environment. Parental involvement, instructor zeal, and government policy backing are examples of supporting variables. Limited resources and an early lack of curriculum understanding are among the difficulties faced. Through internal training, teamwork, and the provision of pertinent learning materials, the principal overcame these difficulties.
