Abstract

This study aims to develop a Pre-Marital Education Model for prospective brides and grooms at the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) Padang Bolak. The purpose of the model is to enhance the readiness of couples in facing marital life and to promote the establishment of sakinah, mawaddah, and rahmah families based on Islamic values. The research employs the Research and Development (R&D) method adapted from the Borg and Gall model, consisting of seven main stages: needs analysis, planning, product development, expert validation, revision, limited field trials, and final product refinement. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, observation, questionnaires, and interviews, then analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive techniques. The validation results showed high feasibility, with average expert ratings of 90% (content), 92% (design), 96% (language), and 90% (implementation). The trial results indicated that the model is valid, practical, and effective in improving participants’ understanding, communication skills, and emotional readiness for marriage. This study concludes that the developed pre-marital education model can be effectively implemented as an innovative framework for family education at KUA. It contributes to strengthening Islamic marriage preparation programs and supports the government’s efforts to reduce divorce rates through comprehensive pre-marital guidance.

Abstract

This article examines the dynamics of the second-hand clothing trade in Indonesia, which has grown significantly in response to rising demand for affordable apparel while simultaneously raising concerns related to hygiene, consumer protection, and compliance with Islamic principles. The main objective of this study is to analyze the legal, economic, and religious dimensions of this practice, particularly its implications for consumer rights and alignment with maqasid shariah. Employing a systematic literature review, the research systematically maps recent studies from reputable journals over the past five years, classifies their findings into key themes, and synthesizes insights to highlight research gaps. The results reveal that while the trade in second-hand clothing provides economic opportunities and fulfills social needs, it also carries substantial risks in terms of health, safety, and halal assurance. These findings underscore the need for more comprehensive regulation and awareness to ensure that this practice remains both safe and compliant with Islamic values. The study’s contribution lies in its integrative approach, which connects economic accessibility with ethical and legal accountability, offering a valuable reference for policymakers, academics, and practitioners concerned with sustainable consumption and Islamic economic law.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of Islamic business ethics into marketing practices as a foundation for promoting fairness, transparency, and sustainability in contemporary business activities. The main objective is to examine how ethical principles derived from Islamic teachings influence marketing strategies and consumer trust. Using a qualitative approach, this research synthesizes findings from academic literature to identify thematic patterns and conceptual relationships relevant to the application of Shariah-compliant values in marketing. The results indicate that ethical values such as honesty, fairness, and trustworthiness are consistently emphasized in Islamic business practices and are significantly associated with building strong customer relationships and long-term business credibility. Furthermore, the review highlights trends in recent scholarly works that demonstrate the increasing relevance of ethics in digital marketing contexts, where the challenges of misinformation and consumer manipulation are more prevalent. The contribution of this study lies in providing a theoretical and practical framework that can guide businesses, policymakers, and scholars in strengthening ethical marketing practices grounded in Islamic values.

Abstract

This study analyzes the sale and purchase of joint property following divorce in Jatimulyo Village from the perspective of Islamic law and the Compilation of Islamic Law. The issue is significant because field practices frequently diverge from formal Islamic norms and statutory requirements. Employing a qualitative phenomenological approach, the research explores the lived experiences, perceptions, and meanings held by transaction participants through in-depth interviews, field observation, and document review. Findings indicate that the community regards joint property as assets accumulated during marriage that may be sold after divorce provided mutual agreement exists; transactions are typically conducted through deliberation, trust-based arrangements, and are morally endorsed by village officials and religious leaders. Substantively, these practices align with core muamalah principles justice, consent, and clarity of contract yet they often lack full compliance with Compilation of Islamic Law’s administrative requisites that emphasize formal, written consent. The results suggest a pragmatic harmonization between sharia values and local customs and highlight the need to strengthen legal literacy on Islamic property law and to improve village-level administrative mechanisms to secure legal certainty. This study contributes empirically to Islamic family law and applied muamalah scholarship in rural contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to reconstruct the conceptual framework of money in Islamic economics through a comparative analysis of classical and contemporary literature. This study employs a qualitative approach using a library research method, analyzing classical works of prominent scholars such as Al-Ghazali and Ibn Khaldun, alongside contemporary contributions from modern Islamic economists. The data are examined through descriptive-analytical and comparative techniques to identify continuity, divergence, and transformation in the conceptualization of money. The findings reveal that both classical and modern Islamic scholars consistently reject the commodification of money and emphasize its functional role in facilitating real economic activities. Classical literature highlights moral restrictions, including the prohibition of riba, hoarding (ikhtikar), and speculative practices, while modern literature extends these principles into discussions on monetary reform, financial instruments, and alignment with maqasid al-shariah. This study contributes by offering a conceptual synthesis that bridges classical foundations with contemporary economic challenges, providing a more integrated theoretical framework for Islamic monetary thought. The implications suggest the need for reorientation of modern financial systems toward ethical, justice-oriented, and stability-driven principles as advocated in Islamic economics

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of literacy on community decision-making in engaging in credit-based buying and selling transactions containing elements of riba in Geragai District, Tanjung Jabung Timur. The research focuses on members of the local community as its primary subjects. A quantitative approach was employed using a simple random sampling technique, resulting in a total of 50 respondents. Data were analyzed using a t-test and simple linear regression with the assistance of Microsoft Excel. The findings reveal that literacy has a positive and statistically significant influence on community decisions to engage in credit transactions involving riba. This indicates that higher levels of literacy are associated with more informed and rational decision-making regarding such financial practices. The study highlights the importance of improving literacy particularly in the context of financial and Islamic perspectives to guide communities toward more appropriate economic behavior
