Abstract

The aim of this study is to find a learning protocol that implements case-based and technological-based integrated assessment requirements for English language learning in classrooms. The research used qualitative design and phenomenological approaches. The researcher conducted a data survey of the assessment of the focus group discussions (FGDs) to align teacher perceptions of case-based learning (CBL) and technology-based holistic assessment rubrics (TBHAR) in English teaching and learning. According to the data, 80% of people learn CBL and TBHAR in English. The average difficulty of implementing CBL is moderate, which means that it can be challenging but manageable. Analysis of survey and interview data came to a decisive conclusion that this method requires constant support and broad understanding to succeed in implementation. In short, combination of case-based learning and tech-based holistic assessment effectively enhances students’ critical thinking and problem-solving skills in English learning. The research findings highlight its effectiveness in fostering deeper understanding and practical application in English learning. These methods provide a comprehensive approach to address challenges in language education.

Abstract

The implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in Indonesia aims to cultivate students who embody the values of Pancasila. However, achieving the profile of Pancasila learners has been challenging due to less meaningful learning experiences that do not cater to diverse student needs. This study explores the potential of Game-Based Learning (GBL) integrated with local wisdom to address these challenges in Batang Regency's high schools and vocational schools. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected from 25 teachers through questionnaires, interviews, and observations. The findings reveal that GBL activities, such as traditional game adaptations, folktale integration, cultural role-playing, and local-themed vocabulary and grammar games, significantly enhance student engagement, motivation, and cultural awareness. These activities not only make learning more enjoyable and relevant but also foster the values of Pancasila, promote local culture, and support Batang tourism. The study reveals the importance of providing adequate resources and training for teachers to overcome implementation challenges and suggests future research to explore the long-term impacts and scalability of GBL. By integrating local wisdom into GBL, educators can create a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that aligns with the Merdeka Curriculum's goals and enriches the educational experience in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study explored the implementation of the Local Environment Exploration Method in English Language Teaching (ELT) at SMP Negeri 1 Weleri, examining its impact on student engagement, contextual relevance, cultural awareness, and teacher adaptation. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected through interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis with teachers and students. The findings reveal that integrating local environmental contexts into ELT enhances language learning by making lessons more meaningful and relatable, increasing students' motivation and active participation. Moreover, the method promotes environmental stewardship and cultural identity by connecting language acquisition with local traditions and natural surroundings. Teachers reported improved pedagogical skills through innovative lesson planning and experiential learning activities, although challenges related to resource limitations and scheduling were identified. This study highlights the dual benefit of this method, which fosters linguistic competence while enriching cultural awareness, thus offering a holistic approach to ELT. The findings contribute to the growing body of literature on contextualized learning and provide practical insights for educators seeking to integrate culturally relevant and place-based teaching methods. Future research should investigate the long-term effects of this method on language proficiency and cultural preservation in diverse educational contexts.

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil refleksi peneliti di kelas, menunjukkan kualitas dan hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Matematika di kelas VI SD Muhammadiyah VII Air Mati masih menunjukkan hasil yang belum optimal. Analisis awal menunjukkan bahwa hanya tiga puluh persen siswa mencapai ketuntasan minimal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana menerapkan model kooperatif tipe Index Card Match untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar operasi hitung bilangan bulat dalam matematika. Studi ini menggunakan metode penelitian tindakan. Penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) ini  terdiri dari 4 tahap yakni melakukan rencana, memberikan tindakan, mengamati (observasi), dan merefleksi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester genap tahun pelajaran 2022/2023. Subjek yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VI SD Muhammadiyah VII Air Mati. Teknik mengumpulkan datanya dengan observasi dan tes. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model kooperatif tipe Index Card Match berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan matematika siswa dengan cara yang efektif.

Abstract

Kebijakan Kurikulum Merdeka yang belum sepenuhnya dipahami oleh guru dan pendidik di lapagan menjadi kesulitan tersendiri yang dihadapi dalam menyongsong penerapan kurikulum baru ini pada tahun ajaran baru nanti. Salah satu poin penting dalam penerapan kurikulum ini adalah penerapan asesmen dalam proses pemebelajaran. Di SMA N 1 Wonotunggal, guru mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami dan menerapkan asesmen sesuai dengan kebijakan kurikulum yang baru. Mayoritas guru masih menganggap asesmen adalah tes yang dilakukan hanya diakhir pembelajaran, namun faktanya asesmen lebih dari itu. Guru akan dapat mengetahui kebutuhan murid dan memaksimalkan potensi murid dengan menerapkan tahapa asesmen yang tepat dan sesuai. Kegiatan pelatihan siap asesmen pada kurikulum merdeka di SMA N 1 Wonotunggal ini diikuti 26 peserta yang terdiri dari guru – guru di sekolah tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan ini adalah polysynchronus learning dimana merupakan perpaduan synchronous dan asynchronous learning secara daring dan luring. Tujuan utama dalam kegiatan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam pembelajran terutama asesmen sesuai kebijakan Kurikulum Merdeka. Kegiatan pelatihan ini berdampak baik pada guru – guru di SMA N 1 Wonotunggal dalam mengembangkan kemampuan mengajar dan metode asesmen. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan pembuatan kanvas pembelajaran dan asesmen serta latihan praktik mengajar yang dilakukan.  Hal ini juga didukung dengan hasil kuesioner menunjukkan kepuasan guru setelah mendapatkan pelatihan serta menerapkan metode asesmen yang sesuai denagn kebutuhan belajaran murid.

Abstract

This study investigates the implementation of Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila (P5) in English Language Teaching (ELT) at SMP Muhammadiyah Tersono. The research aims to analyze how English teachers integrate P5 values into language instruction and to identify challenges and pedagogical implications. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis involving three English teachers. The data were analyzed thematically following Moustakas’ phenomenological procedures. The findings reveal that P5 values such as collaboration, creativity, and responsibility were effectively embedded through project-based learning activities focusing on local culture, environmental awareness, and entrepreneurship. Teachers applied contextual tasks that connected language learning with real-life situations, enhancing students’ engagement and character formation. However, the study also identified constraints related to limited instructional time, assessment integration, and teachers’ professional readiness. The novelty of this study lies in its exploration of P5-based ELT implementation at the junior high school level, highlighting how national character education can synergize with communicative English teaching. The study contributes to the growing discourse on holistic and value-oriented language pedagogy in Indonesia.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi pedagogik guru dalam menerapkan pembelajaran berbasis Deep Learning di SMP Negeri 4 Bandar, Kabupaten Batang. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui model In-House Training (IHT) yang dirancang dengan pendekatan partisipatif dan kolaboratif. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi tiga tahapan utama, yaitu identifikasi kebutuhan dan perancangan materi, pelaksanaan pelatihan dan pendampingan praktik, serta evaluasi hasil kegiatan. Peserta kegiatan berjumlah 20 guru dari berbagai mata pelajaran. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, kuesioner, dan wawancara, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif untuk melihat perubahan kompetensi guru sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa IHT berbasis Deep Learning efektif meningkatkan pemahaman guru terhadap prinsip pembelajaran reflektif, kolaboratif, kontekstual, dan berorientasi pada pengembangan berpikir kritis siswa. Nilai rata-rata kompetensi guru meningkat dari 57,8% menjadi 86,4% setelah pelatihan. Selain peningkatan kemampuan individu, kegiatan ini juga menghasilkan terbentuknya komunitas belajar profesional sebagai wadah refleksi berkelanjutan antar guru. Dampak lain yang terlihat adalah perubahan sikap guru dalam merancang pembelajaran yang lebih bermakna, inovatif, dan sesuai dengan konteks kehidupan siswa. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan In-House Training yang kontekstual dan kolaboratif mampu memperkuat kualitas pembelajaran di sekolah dan dapat direplikasi di lembaga pendidikan lain dengan karakteristik serupa.
