Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of water distribution from the Jatimlerek Rubber Dam in irrigating agricultural land in Jatimlerek, Purisemanding, Karangmojo, and Plandaan Villages, Plandaan District, Jombang Regency. The method used is quantitative. The results obtained are the efficiency of distribution in the Jatimlerek secondary channel of 86.13%. Water loss along the Jatimlerek secondary channel is 0.38% of the efficiency in the secondary channel under normal conditions of 90%, so it can be concluded that Jatimlerek secondary irrigation is less effective. Water loss occurs due to the poor condition of the existing irrigation network lining. The conclusion based on the calculation of water loss and irrigation efficiency along the Jatimlerek secondary channel from BJM 2 - BJM 7 is that water loss is 0.38% and the efficiency of Jatimlerek secondary channel irrigation is 86.13%. Then the condition of the Jatimlerek secondary irrigation structure from BJM 2 - BJM 7 of the six BJMs observed, there were two BJMs that experienced damage to the secondary channels, namely BJM 5 located in Plandaan Village and BJM 7 in Purismanding Village which resulted in a decrease in the flow function.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the biodiversity or diversity of insects in corn plants in the generative phase. This type of research is quantitative descriptive. The study was conducted in systematic and non-systematic land. Sampling of insects in corn plantations in the morning (yellow trap and blue trap), and in the morning, afternoon, and evening (observation). The number of insects obtained was calculated for diversity (H '), dominance (C), and important value index (INP). In systematic land, the H' value of insects was 2.71 while for non-systematic land it was 2.68. The data shows that the insect diversity index is moderate. The dominance index (C) in systematic corn fields in the generative phase of systematic land was 0.074 while in non-systematic land it was 0.072, meaning that both lands showed a low dominance index. In systematic land, the Muscidae family showed an INP of 20.46, for non-systematic land the highest IVI was shown by the Coccinelidae family with a value of 21.42. Generative phase corn fields that use systematic treatment show higher insect diversity compared to generative phase corn fields that use non-systematic treatment. Keywords: Synthetic inorganic, corn, insect diversity.

Abstract

This study evaluated the individual and interactive effects of graded levels of catfish aquaculture wastewater and graded rates of nitrogen phosphorus potassium fertilizer on the growth and yield of tomato under tropical field conditions. Using a two‐factorial randomized complete block design, treatments included five volumes of wastewater and three fertilizer rates, each replicated three times. Growth parameters were assessed at multiple intervals, and fruit yield and biomass were recorded through successive harvests. The highest fertilizer rate resulted in the most vigorous early canopy development, greatest fruit weight in the initial harvests, and highest shoot biomass at maturity. Catfish wastewater alone did not enhance any measured parameter, but a modest wastewater addition combined with full fertilizer rate produced a notable improvement in early leaf expansion. These findings confirm the essential role of balanced inorganic nutrition in tomato production and identify a narrow window in which low‐level organic input can complement chemical fertilizer. Practical implications include the potential for smallholder farmers to valorize aquaculture by‐products and reduce synthetic input without compromising performance.
