Abstract

Digital transformation has significantly altered how society accesses and engages with cultural expressions, including traditional performing arts such as dance. Facing the challenges of globalization and a lack of generational regeneration, Sanggar Tari Mugi Lestari struggles to maintain its presence. This community service program initiates a live streaming mini-show to respond to those issues by integrating digital communication approaches and appropriate technologies. The implementation method is participatory, from technical needs assessment, content production training, and social media management to the regular execution of live streaming through Instagram and TikTok. Evaluation is conducted through pretests, posttests, and analysis of online content performance. The results show improved technical skills among the participants, activation of social media accounts, and live performances that successfully reached broader audiences. The digital content also serves as a cultural education medium by delivering contextual information such as the history of dances, meanings of movements, and local cultural values. This program enhances the community's ability to manage digital identity and opens opportunities for cross-sector collaboration and cultural monetization. Socially, live streaming encourages youth participation in cultural preservation by involving them as content creators. The initiative shows that live streaming is not merely a technological trend but an adaptive strategy for cultural sustainability that other art communities can replicate. These findings highlight the importance of policy support and educational interventions to expand digital transformation within local cultural ecosystems.

Abstract

Bio-ecopreneurship's assistance strengthened creativity and entrepreneurial interests for the members of Majelis Taklim Al-munawwaroh in Bandung Regency. This community development used the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) method, with the target subject of assistance being 30 women members of Majelis Taklim, aged 30 to 55 years. Community Development implementers use instruments in the form of observation sheets and deep interviews to photograph the mentoring process and reveal the variety of creativity of participants in making bio-ecopreneurship-based products, such as fermented food and drinks in the form of nata de soya and yoghurt, ecoprint products, used cooking oil soap, and organic liquid fertilizer. The results show that the mentoring activities can stimulate interest, enthusiasm, and curiosity. Based on the monitoring and evaluation results, it can be seen that mentoring activities also have implications for developing the productivity and creativity of the women of the Taklim Council in making new creations such as various varieties of yoghurt flavors, packaging nata de soya, making ecoprint hijabs and tote bags, packaging liquid organic fertilizer and multiple forms of used cooking oil soap. This is the first step in fostering entrepreneurial enthusiasm and capital among the mentoring participants.

Abstract

This community service activity addresses two main issues in Marindal II Village, Patumbak Subdistrict, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province: the high volume of organic waste and the need for fish feed production technology. The partner is a Women Farmers Group that manages chicken farming, goldfish and tilapia cultivation, and a banana plantation. Organic waste, particularly chicken manure, will be used as a medium for cultivating Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae, which produce maggots as fish feed. In addition to chicken manure, other waste such as vegetables, fruits, and kitchen scraps are also utilized. However, maggots alone are insufficient to meet the fish's nutritional needs, so an additional feed composition in pellets is required. Pellets are essential to prevent fish from being selective in their diet, thus ensuring their dietary needs are met. The community service team conducted awareness activities on waste utilization and nutritious pellet production for the partner and the community to promote the use of waste and prevent environmental pollution.

Abstract

Metabolic syndrome is a collection of metabolic disorders that are closely related to an increased risk of developing diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular diseases in obese adolescents. Metabolic syndrome in adolescents is still reversible with varying timeframes. In adolescents with metabolic syndrome, the transition from homeostasis with normal blood sugar levels to type 2 diabetes occurs more rapidly compared to adults. Early diagnosis of metabolic syndrome is essential for prevention through lifestyle changes. Living in urban areas has a higher risk of obesity compared to living in rural areas after controlling for other variables. This activity aims to initially screen metabolic syndrome in middle school adolescents in urban and rural areas. The measurement of metabolic syndrome parameters involved 107 students, consisting of 47 middle school students in urban areas and 60 in rural areas. The measurement and data analysis results showed significant differences in body mass index (p<0,001), waist size (p=0.03), waist circumference (p=0.007), and upper arm circumference (p=0.002) between students in urban and rural areas, while blood sugar levels, blood pressure, and neck circumference did not show significant differences.

Abstract

Kembaran District in Banyumas Regency is a rapidly developing residential area that maintains agricultural regions, including Tambaksari Kidul Village. This village has high agrarian potential, fertile soil, and a yearly stable water supply. Local farmers are members of the "Tani Maju" Farmer Group and cultivate secondary crops, vegetables, and freshwater fish. However, challenges such as high fertilizer prices, dependence on inorganic fertilizers, low skills in the plant-fish integration system (PFIS), lack of marketing knowledge, and low work motivation hinder the improvement of farmer welfare. This community service activity aims to improve farmers' knowledge and skills by extending PFIS, agricultural products marketing, and motivation enhancement. The methods used include lectures, focus group discussions, and evaluation through pretest and posttest questionnaires. The community service was conducted at the Tambaksari Kidul Village Hall on Monday, April 28, 2025. Based on the pretest and posttest results, farmers' knowledge regarding the plant-fish integration system, agricultural product marketing, and work motivation increased. Overall, the level of expertise is in the moderate category.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve personality branding literacy in the Alpha generation as a strategy to build career opportunities in the digital era. This activity targets students of SMK Idhotun Nasyikin with an edutainment approach, communication training, and aptitude tests. As a digital-native, Generation Alpha has excellent potential to build an authentic self-image through social media and other digital platforms. The mentoring results showed a significant increase in understanding the basic concepts of personal branding, such as self-identity, digital reputation management, and visual content strategies through Instagram. The score evaluation showed that participants had been able to create digital profiles that reflected the uniqueness and consistency of their brands, although the aesthetic and engagement aspects still needed strengthening. This finding confirms that personality branding literacy is a strategic competency that needs to be instilled early on as a provision for entering the world of work and digital entrepreneurship. It is recommended that this material be integrated into the vocational curriculum to strengthen the competitiveness of the younger generation.

Abstract

The use of harmful food chemicals in snacks for schoolchildren remains a widespread issue. Each year, BPOM (the Indonesian Food and Drug Authority) identifies the presence of formaldehyde, borax, and food additives that exceed permissible levels in snack foods. School snacks are essential as they provide energy and vital nutrients for children. However, unhealthy snacks containing dangerous chemicals can impede optimal growth and development, potentially leading to various health issues. This community service, funded by an internal grant from Universitas Muhammadiyah Bandung, aims to educate children about healthy snacks through outreach activities and detecting harmful food chemicals. Pretest and posttest data were collected from 43 children from elementary to junior high school in RW 02 Cipadung Kidul, Panyileukan, Bandung. The results indicate a significant increase in the children's understanding of healthy snacks and harmful food chemicals. Initially, they answered an average of 44.76% of questions correctly. After participating in the program, this number rose to 93.81%. This increase in knowledge indicates that educational outreach, combined with demonstrations on detecting harmful food chemicals, effectively engages children and enhances their understanding of the material presented.

Abstract

Excessive fatigue and burnout are serious issues frequently experienced by healthcare workers and patients with chronic illnesses, particularly within high-pressure healthcare environments. These conditions not only impair the performance of medical personnel but also negatively affect the therapeutic outcomes of patients. To address this problem, a community service activity was conducted through educational outreach on fatigue and burnout management, utilizing acupressure, traditional remedies, and aromatherapy. The program involved 49 participants, including healthcare workers and Surabaya's chronic disease patients. Held on September 11, 2024, the activity employed lectures and two-way discussions as its primary methods. The material covered included traditional medicine, basic acupressure techniques, and training in roll-on and massage oil aromatherapy preparation. A structured module was developed to enhance learning effectiveness, and participants' comprehension was evaluated through pre- and post-tests. Statistical analysis using a paired t-test revealed a significant improvement in participants' understanding (p <0.01), with an average score increase of 19.8%. This initiative demonstrates that practical and interactive education can effectively improve participants' knowledge and skills in managing fatigue and burnout. Therefore, the outcomes of this activity are essential as a promotive and preventive effort to support the physical and mental well-being of vulnerable groups in healthcare settings.
