Abstract

The constraints faced by members of the Anugerah Tribuana group, Mata Air village, Taebenu sub-district, Kupang district are limited knowledge and skills in dragon fruit cultivation techniques (from selecting plant types, selecting seedling materials, nurseries, transplanting seedlings, soil processing, planting, irrigation, maintenance, pest and disease control, and the right time to harvest; including knowledge and skills in environmentally friendly cultivation techniques based on organic fertilizers and botanical pesticides. Increasing dragon fruit productivity in the Anugerah Tribuana farmer group, Mata Air village, Taebenu sub-district, Kupang district through assistance in implementing dragon fruit cultivation techniques. Using lecture and demonstration plot methods by selecting the type of cuttings planted, preparing cutting materials, nurseries, planting, irrigation, fertilization and environmentally friendly pest and pathogen control, as well as determining the time of harvest, harvesting and post-harvest handling. Socialization was carried out to 20 farmer participants. The results of the activity are adequate socialization of knowledge and techniques for dragon fruit cultivation, reflected in the level of attendance of participating farmers and high enthusiasm in the community partnership program; shown by discussing various aspects of dragon fruit cultivation that are appropriate and effective in responding to limitations in dry land, a combination of liquid organic fertilizer (POC) and rice husk charcoal biocar and control of OPT in dry land with the manufacture and application of botanical pesticides. The material is presented and there is two-way productive enthusiastic communication, especially the technical manufacture and application of botanical pesticides and dragon fruit cultivation in farmers and the models and techniques for their use. Socialization of dragon fruit cultivation has a positive impact on increasing knowledge and skills of farmers adequately in the Anugerah Tribuana farmer group in Mata Air Village, Taebenu District, Kupang Regency.

Abstract

Snake bites are classified as a "Neglected Tropical Disease" by the WHO, with over 100,000 deaths occurring annually worldwide, primarily in densely populated developing countries, including Indonesia. Farmers are the most vulnerable group to snake bites, especially during the rainy season and when agricultural activities increase. In implementing programs to control incidents, several factors are needed, including the necessity for educational programs to enhance public understanding of the dangers of snake bites and preventive measures. Donomulyo is a district in Malang Regency, East Java Province, Indonesia. Donomulyo is located in the southwest part of Malang Regency, with the majority of its population working as seasonal farmers who cultivate various commodities such as rice, sugarcane, corn, and coconuts. The methods used in this activity include outreach, pre-tests and post-tests, educational videos, and practical sessions. After these activities, an evaluation will be conducted comparing pre-test and post-test scores, followed by normality tests and difference tests using the Wilcoxon test.The results showed that there were 46 participants, consisting of 44 males and 2 females, where most participants were farmers—a profession with a high risk of snake bites. From the normality test results, it was found that the data were not normally distributed; therefore, the Wilcoxon test was used. The results indicated a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores with a value of 0.002 (<0.005).

Abstract

Mochi is a specialty food from Sukabumi, West Java, made from glutinous rice. This food has potential food safety risks that need to be considered. This socialization aims to evaluate the application of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) system in mochi production at Momo Mochi MSME. HACCP is a system used to identify, evaluate, and control food safety hazards. The purpose of this service activity is to raise awareness among Momo Mochi MSME stakeholders about the importance of food safety and the application of the HACCP system. The method used is through interviews, with the owner of Momo Mochi UMKM, observation of Momo Mochi UMKM production site, socialization of HACCP material delivery. The evaluation was carried out by asking questions before and after the delivery of the material. The results of this activity were, 71% showed a significant increase in understanding of HACCP. In addition, the implementation of personal protective equipment in the form of gloves, masks and headgear can reduce the risk of contamination, thus increasing consumer confidence.

Abstract

The Prosperous and Sumber Jaya Women's Environmental Observer Group (KPPL) is located in Rejang Lebong District, Bengkulu Province. This group has been established as a cooperative and produces various processed foods. The main raw materials focused on by the group are jackfruit and avocado. The aim of this service activity is to enhance the knowledge and skills of the women's environmental observer group (KPPL) in developing processed jackfruit into shredded, preservation-based products to increase its nutritional value. The service method includes surveys, socialization through material presentations, hands-on practice in producing processed jackfruit combined with fish, the preservation process, and the design of activity evaluations using pre-test and post-test results. The level of understanding of participants about jackfruit products whether they need to be preserved, several types of food preservatives and jackfruit can be used as shredded jackfruit when pretested is high, namely above 70% (86.96%, 95.65% and 91.30%). The combination of jackfruit and fish products, as well as agricultural and fishery materials can be used for food preservatives at the time of the pre-test needs to be highligh (highlighted) with the percentage of participants who know that it is still below 70% (65.22 and 26.09). Overall, participants experienced an increase in knowledge before the activity (pre-test results) and after the activity (post-test results).

Abstract

The Sejahtera Forest Farmers Group (KTH) was established to improve the welfare of the community in Kretek Village, Taman Krocok Subdistrict, Bondowoso Regency. This KTH manages robusta coffee plantations with an annual yield of 500-800 kg. However, for 11 years, the land has not been fertilized, resulting in decreased soil productivity and coffee bean quality. To address this issue, pyrolysis technology was introduced to utilize coffee husk waste. This technology produces biochar, which can enhance soil fertility, bind pollutants, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It also produces liquid smoke that can be used as an antimicrobial agent and food preservative. The goal of this activity is to help the community turn coffee husk waste into a valuable product. The method used is participatory rural appraisal, which includes introducing innovations to process coffee husk waste into biochar and liquid smoke, designing and building the equipment, and conducting hands-on practice involving the Sejahtera KTH members. The results of this community service activity show an increase in the knowledge and skills of forest farmers in making biochar and liquid smoke using pyrolysis technology, from 30% to 90%. Overall, this community service program has fostered enthusiasm for utilizing coffee husk waste and enhanced the cohesion of the Sejahtera KTH.

Abstract

Nearly 9 million or around 37% of children under five in Indonesia are stunted. Indonesia is the country with the fifth largest prevalence of stunting worldwide (Basic Health Research, 2013). Intervention for children with stunting requires the convergence of programs or interventions and synergistic efforts from ministries or institutions, local governments, and the business world or the community. The benefits of breastfeeding at the beginning of a baby's life as the beginning of stunting prevention need to always be socialized to the community both through counseling, leaflets, banners, posters, advertisements and so on. This is used to support the improvement of public knowledge, especially mothers to support exclusive breastfeeding. This research is expected to be able to increase the knowledge of pregnant women about the importance of exclusive breastfeeding as one of the stunting prevention measures. The method of activities in Community Service uses the method of lectures, discussions or questions and answers demonstration and simulation or practice. This outreach activity in the form of Community Service was carried out for 2 days, Thursday – Friday, April 25 – 26 2024, 07.30. WIB until the end took place at the Granting Jogonalan Klaten village hall which is the working area of ​​the Jogonalan 2 Klaten Community Health Center with approximately 26 participants attending. There was an increase in knowledge among mothers, this can be seen from the scores between the pre-test and post-test given to participants.

Abstract

The Women’s Environmental Conservation Cooperatives (Koperasi Perempuan Pelestari Lingkungan, or KPPL) Sumber Jaya and KPPL Sejahtera in Sumber Bening Village, Rejang Lebong Regency, have been producing avocado jam. However, the jam's consistency has lacked uniformity, primarily due to the absence of pectin or gelatin, which affects texture. This community service activity aims to enhance the target audience's knowledge and skills in improving the avocado jam production process. The methods used included coordination, counseling, and hands-on practice, conducted in Sumber Bening Village. The activity provided counseling on avocado quality, raw materials, and the processing techniques for making avocado jam. Additionally, the service team demonstrated the avocado jam-making process in front of the target audience. The activity participants were given knowledge about pectin and gelatin, which play a role in influencing the texture of products. Pectin and gelatin come from different raw materials. Pectin is usually derived from citrus peels, while gelatin comes from fish scales and fish bones. The participants also had the opportunity to make avocado jam with the addition of pectin and gelatin. This community service activity demonstrated the participants' enthusiasm in making avocado jam, which was carried out through lectures and practical sessions.

Abstract

Desa Wowoli yang terletak di Kecamatan Toari, Kabupaten Kolaka merupakan wilayah prioritas Program Kosabangsa tahun 2024. Desa ini merupakan wilayah pertanian dengan potensi perkebunan dan peternakan. Para petani di desa ini menanam berbagai jenis tanaman perkebunan seperti kelapa, kakao, jambu mete, lada, dan komoditas lainnya. Penduduk desa ini juga memiliki potensi peternakan kambing yang berjumlah 1449 ekor. Permasalahan utama petani yaitu langka dan mahalnya pupuk anorganik serta minimnya pengetahuan petani dalam memproduksi pupuk organik secara mandiri. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mitra Kelompok Tani Maju Jaya dan Kelompok Tani Mekar Sari dalam melakukan pembuatan pupuk organik secara mandiri. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2024 di Desa Wowoli, Kecamatan Toari, Kabupaten Kolaka. Metode pelaksanaan yaitu sosialisasi tentang manfaat pupuk organik, praktik pelatihan dan demonstrasi pembuatan pupuk organik. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat ini yaitu para petani di Desa Wowoli mampu mengetahui dan melakukan seluruh tahapan pembuatan pupuk organik meliputi persiapan alat dan bahan, penyusunan bahan secara berlapis, pencampuran, fermentasi dan finalisasi produk. Pertama, petani mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan sekitar 80% tentang pentingnya pupuk organik terhadap budidaya tanaman perkebunan. Kedua, adanya peningkatan keterampilan dalam membuat pupuk organik yang berbahan dasar feses kambing. Ketiga, adanya perubahan sikap dari penggunaan pupuk organik dari feses kambing. Kesimpulannya adalah para petani di Desa Wowoli telah dapat mengetahui dan telah dapat membuat pupuk organik berbahan dasar feses kambing. Para petani juga telah mampu mengaplikasikan pupuk organik tersebut ke tanaman perkebunan.

Abstract

Perlindungan anak adalah segala usaha agar setiap anak dapat mewujudkan hak dan tanggung jawabnya terhadap tumbuh kembang anak, baik secara alamiah, jasmani, rohani, dan sosial. Dalam melaksanakan kegiatan pengabdian dengan model siklus deming yang terdiri dari empat tahapan, yakni perencaraan, melakukan, pemeriksaan dan tindak lanjut. Diagram tersebut menunjukkan hasil pemahaman siswa SMP Numbing setelah menerima pemaparan materi terkait bullying. Berdasarkan diagram tersebut, mayoritas siswa, yaitu 66%, setuju bahwa mereka mengerti bullying dapat berupa fisik, verbal, dan sosial. Sebanyak 26% siswa sangat setuju dengan pernyataan tersebut, sementara 8% sisanya menyatakan tidak setuju. Ini menunjukkan bahwa setelah menerima materi, sebagian besar siswa mengalami peningkatan pengetahuan terkait bentuk-bentuk bullying, dan menunjukkan pemahaman yang cukup baik. Pengabdian perlindungan anak terhadap tindak pidana bullying dilaksanakan agar siswa-siswa di SMP Numbing mendapatkan pengetahuan dan bimbingan terkait segala jenis bullying, sehingga mereka dapat mencegah dan meminimalisir tindakan bullying yang kerap terjadi dilingkungan sekolah. Berdasarkan hasil dari kuesioner sebelum dan sesudah pemaparan, menunjukan bahwa siswa-siswa tersebut mengalami peningkatan.

Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat di Desa Olele, Kabupaten Bone Bolango, Provinsi Gorontalo, bertujuan untuk memberdayakan warga melalui upaya konservasi air tanah dalam rangka mendukung pengembangan berkelanjutan Geopark Teluk Tomini. Program ini dilatarbelakangi oleh perkembangan Geowisata Olele yang semakin berkembang sehingga kebutuhan air tanah  akan terus meningkat sehari-hari serta meningkatnya tekanan lingkungan akibat aktivitas pariwisata dan potensi intrusi air laut. Tujuan utama program ini meliputi peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan masyarakat dalam mengelola sumber daya air tanah, meningkatkan kualitas air, serta mendorong praktik pariwisata berkelanjutan. Metode yang diterapkan survei awal kondisi air tanah dan sosialisasi dan pengenalan modul pelatihan pembuatan lubang biopori, sumur resapan modern dan konvensional, serta teknik penghijauan pesisir. Hasil program menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kesadaran dan keterampilan masyarakat terkait konservasi air tanah. Selain itu, kualitas air tanah rentan terhadap salinitas karena kedekatannya dengan pesisir, sehingga diperlukan langkah-langkah mitigasi lebih lanjut. Kesimpulannya, program ini berhasil meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kapasitas masyarakat dalam mengelola air tanah, yang penting untuk memastikan keberlanjutan lingkungan jangka panjang di wilayah tersebut.
