Teknovokasi : Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat diterbitkan oleh Jurusan Teknik Informatika dan Komputer Fakultas Teknik Universitas Negeri Makassar (JTIK UNM) adalah peer-reviewed journal yang memuat artikel-artikel ilmiah dari berbagai disiplin ilmu yang diadopsi dalam berbagai aktivitas pengabdian kepada masyarakat dan penelitian terapan lainnya. Abstract

Data Science adalah bidang multidisipliner yang menggabungkan statistik, analitik data, dan machine learning untuk mengolah data besar menjadi informasi yang bermakna berbasis Data. Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap konsep dan penerapan Data Science melalui workshop berbasis praktik. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dalam bentuk workshop satu hari yang mencakup materi eksplorasi data, visualisasi, dan penerapan algoritma sederhana menggunakan Python dan Google Colab. Peserta yang terdiri dari mahasiswa program studi Teknologi Informasi Universitas Bosowa menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman terkait Data Science dan keberhasilan dalam mengerjakan mini-proyek berbasis data. Keberhasilan kegiatan ini didukung oleh antusiasme peserta, fasilitas yang memadai, serta pendekatan pembelajaran yang aplikatif dan interaktif. Namun, terdapat beberapa hambatan seperti keterbatasan waktu, variasi tingkat kemampuan peserta, dan kendala koneksi internet saat pelatihan. Secara keseluruhan, pelatihan ini memberikan kontribusi nyata terhadap peningkatan literasi data dan keterampilan digital mahasiswa serta relevan untuk diterapkan secara berkelanjutan di institusi pendidikan tinggi.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has brought about significant changes in people's communication patterns, especially through social media. Unfortunately, this progress is not always accompanied by an adequate understanding of contemporary communication issues in the digital space. This community service activity aims to provide a broader understanding of contemporary communication issues to the general public, especially related to disability, gender, regulation, and fandom. Activities are carried out on an online platform by Google Meeting and organized by Rumah Baca Akkitanawa, Palopo, with participants from various backgrounds and domiciles, including from Eastern Indonesia such as Papua. The material was delivered through an interactive presentation followed by a reflective discussion session to explore the views and experiences of the participants. The results of the activity showed that many people still need further understanding regarding contemporary communication issues, especially in the realm of social media. As a solution, participants are equipped with critical thinking skills on these issues. Further service can be carried out in the form of practical training in the wise use of communication technology and the creation of educational modules for local communities, in order to strengthen sustainable digital awareness.

Abstract

Emotional intelligence constitutes a critical determinant in the effectiveness of mentor–mentee relationships, particularly within the domains of character development, psychosocial support, and interpersonal communication. This community engagement initiative aimed to enhance the emotional competence of university students serving as mentors through an emotion regulation training program employing participatory and educational approaches. A total of 50 students from the Informatics Education and Computer Engineering programs at Universitas Negeri Makassar participated in the program, which included a pre-test, delivery of conceptual material, reflective discussions, workshops on emotion regulation techniques, and role-play simulations. Evaluation results indicated a significant improvement in emotional awareness and regulation skills, as evidenced by pre- and post-test comparisons and qualitative participant feedback. The training proved effective in cultivating mentor capacity that is not only cognitively competent but also emotionally adaptive, thereby facilitating productive and sustainable mentoring relationships.

Abstract

Responding to the growing demand for interactive, digital-based learning environments, this community service program was designed to strengthen the capacity of secondary school teachers to design visual learning media using Canva. Many teachers in the target areas previously relied on conventional methods and lacked exposure to digital design tools, resulting in monotonous teaching delivery and low student engagement. Through structured stages—including socialization, training, technology implementation, mentoring, and sustainability efforts—participants were equipped with the knowledge and skills to produce infographics, presentations, worksheets, and other teaching materials. Observations during implementation showed increased teacher confidence and creativity, improved student responsiveness, and improved media alignment with curriculum objectives. Teachers also informed to form a peer-to-peer digital community to ensure ongoing support and resource sharing. The program successfully addressed gaps in digital literacy and instructional design, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration among educators. The results demonstrate that scalable, context-based interventions can make a meaningful contribution to educational transformation.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to enhance teachers' understanding at Sekolah Entrepreneur Tahfidz Muamalah Al Qudsiyah regarding the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model, as an effort to promote more creative, contextual, and student-relevant learning. The learning model and media were designed to facilitate students in entrepreneurial learning activities related to aquaculture, which is an integral part of the school's curriculum. The program was implemented through several stages: preparation, initial evaluation, implementation, and final evaluation. The initial assessment revealed that most teachers had not yet fully understood the concept of PjBL. Through training sessions that included material presentation, discussions, and Q&A, a significant improvement in teachers' comprehension was achieved; all participants (100%) demonstrated a good understanding of the PjBL model by the end of the program. This training effectively equipped teachers with the knowledge and skills necessary to design project-based learning, aligning with the strengthening of the Merdeka Curriculum implementation and the development of 21st-century skills. The project learning activity on tilapia aquaculture using the biofloc system was also carried out through hands-on practice in biofloc media preparation, fish cultivation over three months, and periodic sampling. The program’s success highlights the importance of continuous training and mentoring to support innovative learning practices in schools.

Abstract

Family business is an economic entity that is controlled and inherited from generation to generation, has become an important foundation in the global economy. Rapid technological developments are very helpful in building family businesses, including in terms of finance. Digital-based financial products and services such as fintech are increasingly in demand by the public. One of the factors that drives the growth of the fintech industry is the development of SMEs. More and more SMEs are using digital services to make it easier for consumers to make transactions. The development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) which continues to grow has also triggered the development of the fintech industry in the country. The purpose of this counseling and training is to find out how the influence of the eight-formula counseling strategy for building family businesses in Batetangnga Village, Polewali Mandar Regency. The methods used are conducting stages of observation, preparation of materials, making pre-tests and post-tests and evaluation stages. Participants in this counseling were 21 residents of Batetangnga Village. From the results of the counseling, it can be concluded that there is an increase in residents' knowledge about how to build a family business properly.

Abstract

Training on the use of Edredo based on Simulation-Based Learning is designed to improve the digital pedagogy skills of teachers at SMKS Handayani Gowa. This activity was carried out as a response to the limited skills of teachers in implementing digital learning that is relevant to the demands of the 21st century. The training was conducted through the stages of pre-test, simulation of using Edredo, reflection, interactive discussion, digital project implementation, and post-test. The pre-test results showed that the participants' average digital pedagogy skills were low to moderate, with an average score of 2.08 to 3.17. After the training, there was a significant increase in post-test scores which ranged from 4.42 to 4.58. The results of paired samples t-test analysis showed a statistically significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores (p < 0.001). The distribution of post-test scores centred in the high score range (4.0 to 5.0) showed an even distribution of skill improvement among the trainees. Documentation of the activities showed the participants' enthusiasm in following all stages of the training, from the simulation of using Edredo to the implementation of digital projects. Thus, the implementation of Edredo based on Simulation-Based Learning proved effective in significantly improving teachers' digital pedagogy skills at SMKS Handayani Gowa. This finding is expected to be a reference for the development of digital technology-based teacher training models in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0.

Abstract

This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to enhance the capacity of teachers in Makassar in utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology as an innovative and adaptive learning medium in response to the demands of the digital era. The training was held on May 10, 2025, at the 'Aisyiyah Multipurpose Hall in South Sulawesi and was attended by 15 teachers from various educational levels. The training methods included material presentations, demonstrations of AI-based tools, and hands-on practice in creating learning media using AI platforms. The results of the activity showed that participants demonstrated high enthusiasm and were able to produce more engaging and interactive learning materials. This training is expected to serve as an initial step in the broader implementation of AI in education, and to make a meaningful contribution to improving the quality of teaching and learning processes in schools.

Abstract

The main problem in implementing this Community Service activity is how to improve the quality of human resources for students of SD Inpres. Panaikang I/1 Makassar, South Sulawesi Province in utilizing information technology, especially accessing the internet quickly and accurately. The purpose and benefits of implementing the activity are to provide basic knowledge for students of SD Inpres. Panaikang I/1 Makassar, South Sulawesi Province to access the internet quickly and accurately. The basic idea behind this training activity is how students of SD Inpres. Panaikang I/1 Makassar, South Sulawesi Province no longer experience difficulties in seeking knowledge through the internet media. This training was also carried out using lecture, discussion, question and answer, and practice methods. From these results, it can be concluded that the ability to access the internet of students of SD Inpres. Panaikang I/1 Makassar, South Sulawesi Province has increased significantly. Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dilaksanakan dalam bentuk pelatihan public speaking dengan tema "Strong Mind, Strong Voice" yang diikuti oleh 36 pemuda di Kawasan Madaya Sinjai, Desa Arabika, Kecamatan Sinjai Barat, Kabupaten Sinjai pada tanggal 26 Agustus 2025. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah untuk membekali pemuda dengan keterampilan berbicara di depan umum, meningkatkan kepercayaan diri, dan mengembangkan pola pikir positif dalam komunikasi. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan melalui penyampaian materi, diskusi interaktif, dan latihan simulasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta tentang konsep dasar public speaking, kemampuan mengatasi rasa gugup, serta keterampilan menyampaikan gagasan secara lebih percaya diri. Pelatihan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi pondasi dalam mencetak generasi muda yang mampu berperan sebagai komunikator, pemimpin, dan agen perubahan di masyarakat.
