Abstract

Background: Psychological responses to sport injury critically determine rehabilitation engagement and return-to-sport outcomes. Existing research has predominantly employed variable-centered approaches that obscure heterogeneity in athletes' psychological adaptation, particularly within culturally embedded combat sports such as Pencak Silat. Aims: This study aimed to identify distinct psychological profiles among injured Pencak Silat athletes empirically and to examine how these profiles relate to rehabilitation readiness, thereby advancing an evidence-based framework for psychological skills training in injury rehabilitation contexts. Methods: A quasi-experimental pretest–posttest design combined with a person-centered analytical framework was employed. Data were collected from 108 injured Pencak Silat athletes across nine secondary educational institutions. Latent Profile Analysis (LPA) was conducted on five psychological domains: anxiety regulation, coping skills, self-confidence, motivation, and rehabilitation readiness, followed by MANOVA and hierarchical regression to examine profile-based differences and predictive relationships. Results: Three distinct profiles, Vulnerable (n = 29), Adaptive (n = 46), and Resilient (n = 33), were identified. All psychological indicators differed significantly across profiles, with large effect sizes. Hierarchical regression demonstrated that psychological skills and profile membership accounted for significant variance in rehabilitation readiness beyond injury-related factors (ΔR² = .19). Conclusion: Psychological adaptation to sport injury is best conceptualized through profile-based configurations of psychological skills. These findings support the development of individualized, profile-informed psychological skills training to enhance rehabilitation readiness and sustainable return-to-sport outcomes in Pencak Silat athletes.

Abstract

Character education is an essential aspect of education that transcends academic development. However, its implementation is frequently hindered by students' lack of social responsibility and mutual respect. Through the development of a physical education learning model based on the Teaching Personal and Social Responsibility (TPSR) approach, this study sought to address the fundamental problems inherent in the implementation of character education in schools. Using an experimental method and a pretest-posttest design with 56 elementary school students, this study employed the game Engklek to promote character development and enhance fundamental manipulative skills. The results demonstrated a positive impact on the character traits, knowledge, and abilities of the students, with increased scores at levels 1 and 2. However, there were identified limitations, such as the need for adequate facilities and the limited habituation of character characteristics in daily life due to time constraints. Overall, this research contributes to the development of a physical education learning model that enhances the character development and fundamental manipulative movements of elementary school students, whereas future research should explore alternative materials and interactive learning media to further improve physical education.

Abstract

Kata Kunci: Anak Sekolah, Aktivitas Fisik, Gastrodiplomasi, Kuda Lumping, Sdgs No 3, Sdgs No.17.ABSTRACT Cultural diplomacy is a means of establishing and strengthening relations between countries. Cultural diplomacy between Indonesia and South Korea has been carried out by demonstrating typical Indonesian cultural arts such as food, wayang (puppetry), and batik. However, problems identified during observations and FGDs revealed that no Indonesian culture has been introduced to school students through direct practice. This can diminish the philosophical value of the culture being demonstrated. Therefore, efforts will be made in this community service to invite elementary school students in South Korea to learn about and. This is also in line with SDGs numbers 3 and 17, namely a healthy and prosperous life through partnerships to achieve goals. This community service activity aims to foster socialization and practice Indonesian culture through activities such as traditional Indonesian games, making dawet (a traditional Indonesian dish), and making ketupat (rice cakes). The method for implementing the community service activity involves socialization, practice, and education through the activities carried out. The community service partners are students from Kosan Elementary School and Geumgu Elementary and Middle School in South Korea. The results of the activity showed that the students were enthusiastic and enjoyed themselves, and that the majority chose the horse dance as their physical activity. This community service is also expected to serve as an alternative to the early introduction of Indonesian culture to the international community. The conclusion of this community service activity was a positive response from partners to the introduction of traditional Indonesian culture through kuda lumping, ketupat, and dawet. Keywords: School Children, Physical Activity, Gastrodiplomacy, Kuda Lumping, Sdgs No.3, Sdgs No. 17.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the anxiety level of C and B2 license basketball referees in Central Java Province in leading matches. The research method used was quantitative descriptive with a survey approach of 50 referees as a sample. The data collection instrument used the Sport Anxiety Scale-2 (SAS-2) questionnaire which measured three dimensions of anxiety, namely somatic, worry, and concentration disorder. The results showed that the overall anxiety level of referees was in the medium category with an average score of 29.06. Specifically, the anxiety indicator was the most dominant dimension (medium category), while somatic anxiety in the low category (1-2 years) had a higher level of anxiety compared to B2 license referees and experienced referees. The conclusion of this study is that the maturity of experience and flight hours are crucial factors in shaping the mental toughness of referees to minimize cognitive anxiety when leading matches.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low ability of basic billiard stroking techniques in beginner players, characterized by a lack of straightness of strokes, movement stability, power control, and stroke consistency. This condition is generally caused by the use of conventional learning methods that emphasize imitation of movements without providing a deep understanding of the concepts and principles of correct movement. This study aims to determine the effect of the guided discovery method on basic billiard stroking techniques in beginner players. The study used a quantitative approach with an experimental method and a Two Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research sample consisted of 20 beginner billiard players who were divided into two groups, namely 10 people in the experimental group who were given treatment using the guided discovery method and 10 people in the control group who used conventional learning methods. The research instrument was a billiard stroking skills test that included aspects of straightness of strokes, movement stability, power control, and stroke consistency. Data analysis was carried out through descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, the Levene Test homogeneity test, the Paired Sample t-Test, and the Independent Sample t-Test. The results showed that the experimental group experienced an average score increase from 52.10 to 74.20, representing a 22.10-point increase, while the control group only experienced a 5.60-point increase. The hypothesis test results showed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a significant effect of the guided discovery method on basic billiard stroking techniques. Thus, the guided discovery method has proven effective in improving basic billiard stroking techniques in beginner players.
