The pandemic situation in the last two years has forced us to move almost all activities online, including our teaching and learning activities. This creates challenges for teachers to discover suitable techniques or media to motivate students to keep being active in online class interaction. One of the possible media that can be used is songs; a media which is already popular among the youths. This paper presented a data survey towards 107 female students aged 19-20 years old from one of the midwifery academies situated in Central Java, Indonesia. This study used an online questionnaire form. There were 18 items in the questionnaire and the data consisted of demographic data and students’ perception towards the use of songs for improving their skills in English. The data were presented in the percentage data and analyzed using descriptive explanation. The result showed that the students’ perception on songs as media for English online learning achieved positive perception on all items. Referring to this finding, teachers can consider using songs for English online learning in order to create an attractive and interactive online learning process.

Games are always heard to be fun, exciting, and adventurous to students. Everyone likes playing games, including fun English games for the students of the Nursing Department at Poltekkes Kemenkes Malang. This study explored the best practices of fun English games as an innovative pedagogical approach to enhance vocabulary acquisition among nursing students in higher education. The significance of this study lies in addressing the evolving landscape of nursing education and the need for dynamic teaching strategies aligned with the preferences of the digital-native generation, as emphasized by Prensky. The rationale for incorporating fun English games is grounded in principles of experiential learning and gamification, aligning with the ideas of scholars that playing games while learning English was very effective and efficient in improving vocabulary. This study reported that using games to learn English vocabulary is very useful and meaningful to the students. They showed a positive attitude towards the use of games in the classroom. Anticipated positive outcomes hold implications for nursing educators, curriculum developers, and policymakers, offering evidence-based recommendations to bridge the gap between theoretical insights and practical applications in nursing education.

Background. The students of health departments face many challenges in learning English for their career in the future, including four language skills and components. In the era of technological advances, there are alternatives to help students improve their English competencies, one of them using Podcast media. Some studies revealed that Podcasts are interactive media in teaching and learning and are useful to give students more meaningful learning experiences for real life. This study aimed to determine the ESP students’ point of view on using Podcasts to learn English. Research Method. The writer employed mixed method research with quantitative and qualitative research with approach survey research and interviews to collect data. Ninety-six (96) nursing department students were the participants/respondents of this study; online questionnaires to find out students’ points of view and interviews were used to collect the data. The data found were analyzed quantitively and descriptively. Findings. The result showed that more than 75% of respondents had positive perceptions of Podcast use in English language learning. The students also had positive comments during the interview about the Podcasts used in the classroom. Conclusion. Podcasts have some benefits to be used in English language learning as one of the alternatives of education media both online and offline mode.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan kualitas dan mengukur peningkatan hasil belajar menggunakan media Puzzle Model Make A Match pada pembelajaran tematik materi mengenal simbol dan sila-sila pancasila dikelas I MI Minhadlul Ulum Trimulyo. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Research and Development (R & D). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode yang dikembangkan oleh Reiser & Mollenda yang terdiri dari lima langkah, yaitu 1) analisis, 2) desain, 3) pengembangan, 4) implementasi, 5) evaluasi. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kelas I MI Minhadlul Ulum dengan melibatkan 17 siswa yang terdiri dari 9 siswa dan 8 siswi. Berdasarkan hasil dan pembahasan dapat disimpulakan bahwa media puzzle dipilih dengan menyesuikan model pembelajaran make a match materi simbol dan sila-sila pancasila yang di desain menggunakan aplikasi corel draw dan dicetak menggunakan kertas duplex berkualitas. Hasil validasi dari validator ahli media memperoleh presentase sebesar 92,86% termasuk dalam kriteria sangat layak. Validasi ahli materi memperoleh presentase sebesar 96,43% termasuk dalam kriteria sangat baik. Dan hasil belajar peserta didik sebelum diterapkannya media puzzle memperoleh 9 siswa tuntas dan 8 siswa tidak tuntas kemudian setelah peneliti menerapkan media puzzle hasil belajar memperoleh 15 siswa tuntas dan 2 siswa tidak tuntas artinya efektifitas penggunaan media puzzle model make a match sangat baik untuk diterapkan

English speaking proficiency has become prominent for Midwifery Students to prepare them in the global competition of the health field. Unfortunately, they have complex problems in learning and practicing speaking, such as a lack of motivation, confidence, and vocabulary, being afraid of making mistakes, and difficult pronunciation. Mentoring strategy comes as one of the best solutions for their problems. This study aimed to explore Midwifery students’ point of view towards a mentoring strategy to help them enhancing speaking skills. A survey research with mixed methods design was employed in this research by administering a questionnaire and interview. The result indicated that the respondents had a strong attitude and positive perspective towards the mentoring program. In conclusion, it is one of the best alternative ways to be applied in the classroom and equip the students with English competency, particularly the speaking skills.

During the pandemic, technology and software use is inevitable for teachers and students due to the safety and sake of health. All traditional classrooms were shifted into online methods in which the learning process must be taken at home. Dealing with this, various educational platforms to support online learning was offered, impacting many problems the teachers and students faced. So, what about now, in the post-pandemic era? Did the teachers still use technology aids and software to support the English learning process in the face-to-face classroom and what are the challenges?. This study aimed to determine whether technology and online platforms for educational support, such as Zoom Cloud Meeting, Google Classroom, YouTube, Social Media, and Learning Applications were still used after the pandemic. English teachers in Trenggalek Regency were used as the sample of this study and a questionnaire was distributed online to collect the data. The survey research was employed since it was attempted to take data from individuals who took part in this research.

Pembelajaran tata bahasa (grammar) dalam bahasa Inggris sering kali menjadi tantangan tersendiri bagi siswa sekolah dasar karena sifatnya yang abstrak dan cenderung membosankan jika disampaikan secara tradisional. Padahal, pada usia ini, siswa masih berada dalam tahap perkembangan kognitif konkret sehingga membutuhkan pendekatan pembelajaran yang lebih visual, kinestetik, dan kontekstual. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk menegtahui hasil implementasi “Fun English Grammar” yang disesuaikan dengan kebutuhan dan karakteristik anak-anak usia sekolah dasar. Pengabdian dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif melalui observasi, wawancara dengan guru, serta tes sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan materi pada siswa kelas IV SDN 1 Nglebo, Suruh. Dari hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan materi “Fun English Grammar” tidak hanya membantu meningkatkan penguasaan konsep grammar dasar, seperti simple present tense dan preposisi tempat, tetapi juga meningkatkan minat belajar siswa serta menciptakan suasana belajar yang lebih aktif dan menyenangkan. Kesimpulan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bahwa pemahaman siswa terhadap susunan kalimat sederhana dan kalimat fungsional lainnya meningkat dengan baik.

Kesehatan anak usia dini merupakan fondasi penting bagi tercapainya generasi masa depan yang berkualitas. Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS) yang ditanamkan sejak usia dini berperan besar dalam mencegah penyakit dan meningkatkan kualitas hidup anak. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dilaksanakan di KB–TK Noor Fadjar Kota Malang dengan tujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan anak dalam menerapkan PHBS, khususnya praktik mencuci tangan yang benar. Metode kegiatan bersifat edukatif dan partisipatif melalui penyampaian materi, pemutaran video edukatif, demonstrasi mencuci tangan, serta permainan interaktif. Sebanyak 40 siswa KB–TK beserta orang tua dan guru terlibat aktif dalam kegiatan ini. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman dan antusiasme anak-anak terhadap pentingnya menjaga kebersihan diri, yang ditunjukkan melalui kemampuan mereka mempraktikkan cara mencuci tangan dengan benar. Selain anak-anak, orang tua dan guru juga menunjukkan keterlibatan yang positif, yang turut mendukung pembentukan kebiasaan hidup sehat di lingkungan rumah dan sekolah. Pendekatan yang menyenangkan dan sesuai dengan tahap perkembangan anak terbukti efektif dalam menyampaikan pesan kesehatan. Kegiatan ini memberikan dampak edukatif yang luas dan diharapkan dapat berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya PHBS sebagai bagian dari upaya preventif sejak usia dini. Rekomendasi dari kegiatan ini adalah perlunya keberlanjutan program edukasi PHBS secara kolaboratif antara sekolah, keluarga, dan tenaga kesehatan.

Goat milk has a distinctive “goaty”, making it a limitation for fresh consumption. Processing the goat milk into kefir can extend the shelf life and minimize the smell of goat milk. Kefir is a fermented milk product after pasteurization then added kefir grain starter. This study aims to determine the effect of goat milk substitution with sunflower seed extract (Helianthus annuus. L) in the production of optima kefir on pH, total LAB, and total yeast. Conducted in November 2024 at the Livestock Product Processing Technology Laboratory and Biotechnology Research and Testing Laboratory, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Padjadjaran University, Sumedang. The research method was conducted experimentally using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replicates. The treatments consisted of the ratio of goat milk and sunflower seed extract P1 (80:20), P2 (60:40), P3 (50:50), P4 (40:60), and P5 (20:80). Data processing of research results using Analysis of Variance and Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The results showed that the treatment consisted of goat milk and sunflower seed extract had a significant effect (P<0.05) on total LAB and total yeast, and was able to produce the best kefir in the P2 (60:40) treatment with a pH value of 3.99, total LAB 16.32 108 CFU/mL and total yeast 17.35 109 CFU/mL.

The emergency remote learning due to COVID-19 pandemic and the government strategy to move the lesson into online mode make language learning technologies play an important role to help students achieving the goals of learning. WhatsApp application as one of learning media offers some benefits that can be utilized by the students and teachers to achieve this goal. This study aimed at knowing the midwifery and nursing students‘ perception on the use of WhatsApp as the media of English teaching and learning process in the context of Emergency Remote Learning (ERL). This paper presented data survey towards 183 students of nursing and midwifery departments at Poltekkes Kemenkes Malang. The instrument of this study was an online questionnaire designed based on the literature review and administered to the participants through class‘s WhatsApp Group. There were 25 items in the questionnaire and the content was conveyed the demographic data and students’ perception towards the use of WhatsApp application that helped them mastering four English language skills and components as well as getting scoring and feedback. The data were presented in the percentage data and analyzed using descriptive explanation. The finding showed that students’ perception on WhatsApp as learning media in English online learning in ERL context gained highly positive perception on all items. Based on this result, teachers can utilize all features on WhatsApp to design meaningful learning in the time of emergency remote teaching and learning. HIGHLIGHTS : Students’ perception on WhatsApp as learning media in English online learning in ERL context gained highly positive perception on all items There are some drawbacks regarding the use of WhatsApp application for online setting during ERL, so some strategies should be implemented to minimize them Teachers can utilize all features on WhatsApp to design meaningful learning during thisemergency remote teaching and learning period
