Abstract

This study aims to describe of genre pedagogy learning model on Indonesian language comprehension in elementary school. This research uses literature study method with descriptive analysis technique. In this study, researchers sought data from the number or relevant books on genre pedagogy learning model and reading comprehension in Indonesian language in elementary school. Genre pedagogy is a text-based learning model based on a teaching and learning cycle where teachers provide guidance and interaction to learners before learners create texts independently. In practice, this genre pedagogy is implemented using four stages, namely the initial stage of Building Knowledge, the second stage is modelling, the third stage is joint construction and the last stage, namely independent construction. The application of the genre pedagogy model can indirectly motivate learners to utilize various learning resources around them in reading comprehension, especially when learners build their own understanding.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use, problems, and responses of students to the use of Wordwall as a medium for evaluating thematic learning in elementary schools. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The subjects in this study were teachers and fourth grade students. Collecting data in this study is by observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The validity test in this research is source triangulation. Analysis of the data in this study using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The results showed that the use of Wordwall as an evaluation medium for thematic learning makes it easier for teachers and students because Wordwall has many features and can be used in all subjects. The problem in designing for teachers is the need for a supportive internet network and the lack of teacher skills. Problems for students include, requiring data packets, being tense, not focused because of time constraints, feeling disturbed if the network is slow. Another obstacle is that students do not have their own handphone to be able to access Wordwall. The responses shown by students include students becoming more active, students motivated in terms of learning, students becoming competitive and enthusiastic.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic gives an impact on education field. The face-to-face learning pattern in schools has shifted to distance learning which is carried out online. The implementation of online learning during the pandemic forces a digital transformation in education, causing several problems, two of which are technology and human resources. This article discusses the appropriate online learning strategies to use during a pandemic, especially for synchronous interaction models. Qualitative research with a narrative approach was used to explore teachers' experiences in learning, especially those related to the form of interaction between teachers and students during the Covid-19 pandemic. Active learning was chosen based on the results of observations and literature review through journal articles and proceedings that discuss interactive distance learning methods. Active learning strategies assisted by video conferencing applications that can be applied in online learning in elementary schools include: the use of Student Response Systems; Think Pair Share; One Minute Paper; Small Group Discussion; and Short Student Presentations.

Abstract

Many studies empirically discuss the use of technology in overcoming pandemics in education. Generally, research discusses the use of technology in online teaching and learning activities. When viewed from the information technology layer, these studies focus on discussing the use of the software layer. This study examines conceptually about the utilization of the hardware layer in information technology, especially Internet of Things infrastructure which is used to help the community in carrying out their daily activities in the new normal era. Conceptual ideas are applied by taking a case study in education, especially in the elementary school environment. The urgency is that there are many stakeholders in the elementary school environment, especially children who need extra attention and supervision in carrying out post-pandemic activities outside the house. These stakeholders are a group at risk of being exposed to the virus because the majority have not received protection in the form of vaccination and the level of adherence to health protocols is low. This creates a risk for vulnerable groups, namely children, families, and teachers. It is necessary to integrate cyber physical systems that help minimize these risks. This conceptual idea describes the concept of IoT technology to minimize the risk of virus transmission and the strategies that allow it to be applied in the elementary school environment. With a top-down approach, it describes how the IoT system protects children and teachers from going to school, doing activities in the school environment, participating in learning in class, to completing learning.

Abstract

This study aims to review the management strategies of school principals in improving teacher performance through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. Articles were collected from Google Scholar and accredited national journal databases using the keywords “principal management strategies”, “school principal leadership”, and “teacher performance”. The inclusion criteria consisted of articles published between 2018 and 2025, written in Indonesian or English, and directly discussing principals’ strategies for improving teacher performance. A total of 20 articles met the criteria and were included in the analysis. The results indicate that principals improve teacher performance through managerial functions, democratic and participatory leadership styles, academic supervision, motivation and reward systems, discipline building, and continuous professional development through training and workshops. Supporting factors include a conducive school climate, adequate facilities, and effective communication, while inhibiting factors consist of limited time, teachers’ resistance to change, and low participation among some teachers. This study recommends strengthening participatory leadership and continuous professional development programs for teachers.
