Abstract

This study explores the integration of entrepreneurial values within the educational practices of traditional pesantren in Aceh, Indonesia. While entrepreneurship is not formally taught, pesantren foster entrepreneurial competencies through religious devotion, moral education, and communal life. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal that pesantren cultivate dual dimensions of edupreneurship: batiniyah values such as sincerity, perseverance, and reliance on God, and lahiriyah practices, including community leadership, social responsibility, and trust-building. These values emerge organically from daily religious practices and form a moral foundation for entrepreneurial engagement. Despite challenges such as the absence of formal entrepreneurial curricula and limited critical thinking development, pesantren demonstrates a sustainable model of faith-based entrepreneurship that balances religious commitment with economic agency. This study contributes to global discussions on Islamic education and value-based entrepreneurship, offering a context-specific paradigm for integrating ethical economic empowerment into religious education systems. The Acehnese pesantren experience provides a valuable alternative to secular models, emphasizing indigenous educational traditions’ potential to drive spiritual and socioeconomic transformation.

Abstract

Humans' characteristics as social beings and God-created creatures are shaped by culture's past.) As long as there is life, culture will never disappear. Genoside occurs when the state commits ethnic massacres, inter-ethnic conflicts, inter-religious conflicts, and so forth. The diverse South Tapanuli community is relatively active, and kinship relationships are highly mobile. Descriptive qualitative research is used in this study. In order to keep the dalihan na tolu community strong and united, some disputes should go through mediation instead of the courts. The authority to control the land over communal land rights belonged to indigenous people in the ulayat lands of the Harahap, Siregar, and other clans, such as the Dalimunthe, Daulay in Angkola. If the land is not used, it will once again be a communal right that is protected by the Angkola Batak indigenous people's village heads and/or customary holders. The act of selling and buying rights causes these activities to become deviant. In order to strengthen indigenous peoples and ulayat lands in the future, cooperation is required. In order to keep the dalihan na tolu community strong and united, some disputes should go through mediation instead of the courts.

This media is motivated by the students' mastery of the subject matter is low, the activity of students during the learning process is very lacking, students are less interested in the methods and media used by researchers. This innovative work consists of two types of media, namely the Spinning Wheel and the Smart Puzzle. This rotating wheel uses iron and used parabolic plates. Meanwhile, this Smart Puzzle is made from Styrofoam and Asturo paper. The wheel will stop pointing to a source of energy for the students to arrange their smart puzzles. The results obtained in the practical application of this media are that it can increase motivation and learning achievement in sub-theme 1 energy sources for fourth grade students of SDN 2 Sigli. It is proven in the first cycle of 33 students who achieved complete learning, 16 students or 48.5% obtained an average score of 68.2. Then the complete students increased again in the second cycle to 28 students or 84.9% with an average score of 77.6 which exceeded the indicator achievement target of 70. Abstract

Abstract

The act of reading necessitates that student readers employ various cognitive and linguistic tactics to comprehend the meaning embedded within the text. Using an e-learning method through WhatsApp groups to teach reading comprehension on narrative texts can be a new breakthrough. Therefore, the present study aims to find out the effect of WhatsApp groups on narrative text in junior high school students to teach reading comprehension. To reach the research aims, the study used experimental research method. The population of this research was 330 students of grade 9 of junior high school in Pematangsiantar. The researchers divided the samples intor control group and experimental group. The data collection method used was the reading tests employed to the students which covered pre-test, treatment, and post-test. The statistical analysis employed t-test analysis. Comparison of data from both groups indicated superior performance by the experimental group. The findings unequivocally show that the experimental intervention employing WhatsApp have significant effect on students’ reading comprehension of narrative text compared to traditional approaches. While WhatsApp has proven to be an effective tool, researchers must consider the challenges of using it for reading instruction in remote areas with limited internet connectivity. Students cannot access WhatsApp-based reading lessons without internet access, though they can still search for information through text messages. Therefore, it is important to examine the limitations of utilizing WhatsApp for reading education in areas with poor internet infrastructure.
