Abstract

As an effort to develop the teaching profession, Lesson Study for Learning Community (LSLC) emphasizes the importance of collaborative and continuous learning assessment based on the principles of collegiality and mutual learning to build a learning community. Based on discussions with the head of Darussholihin Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) NW Kalijaga, East Lombok, principals of MTs-SMP, MA-SMA, and Vocational Schools fostered by Ponpes Darussholihin NW Kalijaga, it was revealed that: mathematics is one of the subjects that most students are less interested in. MTs-SMP, MA-SMA, SMK fostered by Ponpes Darussholihin NW Kalijaga, as well as most mathematics teachers still have difficulty planning and implementing learning strategies that can guide students in finding mathematical concepts, principles, and problem solving. To solve these problems, assistance is needed, through LSLC activities for school mathematics teachers at Ponpes Darussholihin NW Kalijaga, in order to resolve problems related to the implementation of mathematics learning. This service activity is carried out by utilizing several methods, namely: lectures, questions and answers, discussions, and providing assistance when mathematics teachers carry out the LSLC steps, including Plan, Do, See, and Re-design activities. Through mentoring activities carried out from September 18 to October 2, 2021, it was concluded that mentoring activities could: i) improve the understanding and skills of Mathematics teachers in schools at Ponpes Darussholihin NW Kalijaga in designing (plan), implementing (do), reflecting (see), and re-design of learning as regulated in the 2013 curriculum; ii) increasing collegiality among mathematics teachers at the Darussholihin Islamic Boarding School's fostered schools, NW Kalijaga.

Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika selama ini dianggap sebagai pelajaran yang tidak menyenangkan oleh sebagian siswa dan siswa jarang ikut aktif dalam proses pembelajaran sehingga menyebabkan rendahnya kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang melaksanakan pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dengan siswa yang melaksanakan pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung. Populasi penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa kelas XI MIPA SMAN 1 Narmada dan sampel penelitian yaitu kelas XI MIPA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI MIPA 4 sebagai kelas kontrol. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian Quasi Eksperimental Design dengan desain penelitian posttest only control design. Teknik pengumpulan data terdiri dari observasi, tes, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Adapun teknik analisis data pada penelitian ini terdiri dari uji validitas, uji reliabilitas, uji normalitas, uji homogenitas,, dan uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa instrumen tes kemampuan komunikasi matematis yang telah dirancang memenuhi kriteria valid dan terdapat perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa yang melaksanakan pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dengan siswa yang melaksanakan pembelajaran menggunakan model pembelajaran langsung di kelas XI pada materi turunan fungsi.

Abstract

Learning is an interaction process of students with teachers and the learning sources in a learning environment. Therefore, the planning is needed to ensure the learning process run properly, consisting of 3 stages namely designing/composing, the learning implementation, and the evaluation and reflection. Those three stages can be improved by the Lesson Study for Learning Community (LSLC) activity. Based on the discussion with some principals and mathematics teachers of SMP and MTs in Labuapi, West Lombok, it was revealed that: i) mathematics is a subject which attracts less interest of junior high school students in Labuapi, ii) some mathematics teachers still found difficulties in composing an innovative learning devices which can guide students to find out the concepts, principles, and the solutions from the mathematics problems, and also they still have difficulties in designing one-page learning scenario which can actively involve students in an enjoyable learning process. To solve the problems, the mentoring activity in composing the learning through the LSLC activity is urgently needed. The activity was carried out by utilizing some methods, namely: speech, question and answer, discussion, and conducted mentoring activity when mathematics teachers discussed about the composing of LSLC based learning devices. From the mentoring activity conducted in 3 and 10 until 13 of September 2022, it was concluded that the mentoring activity was able to improve some aspects as follows: i) the understanding of mathematics teachers of SMPN/MTs in Labuapi, West Lombok in composing an innovative learning device, consisting of lesson plan or lesson design, learning materials, learning media, and assessment instrument; ii) the skill of mathematics teachers in the level of junior high schools in Labuapi, West Lombok in designing the learning devices as set in the curriculum of 2013; iii) the collegiality among teachers of SMPN and MTs in Labuapi, West Lombok in teaching and fulfilling students’ right from the sharing of experiences through the LSLC activity.

Abstract

Implementation of Mathematics Learning for Children with Special Needs at special school (SLB) Negeri 1 Mataram Academic Year 2021/2022. The subjects of this research are teachers and students of VIII grade of Tunagrahita at Children with Special Needs at special school (SLB) Negeri 1 Mataram. The two chosen subjects are the class teacher and the randomly chosen student. This research is a Descriptive qualitative research. The data were collected in three phases, which are observation, interview and documentary. The result of this research shows the learning process for Children with Special Needs at special school (SLB) needs special treats and patterns for each student, even in fact the teachers still use the conventional method to teach them. The students still need guidance every hour. The teachers use more than one method as in other schools. The mathematics learning process of Children with Special Needs at special school (SLB) is little bit different to public schools where the teachers here have to be really slow when explaining the materials to the students and the teachers need to repeat more than twice in order that students understand it well. This Children with Special Needs school (SLB) uses the same evaluation as public schools use.

Abstract

Matematika adalah salah satu ilmu pengetahuan yang berperan penting dalam kehidupan manusia baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung. Siswa dituntut untuk dapat untuk menguasai beberapa kemampuan matematika salah satunya yaitu kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah setiap individu berbeda-beda, oleh karena itu untuk mengetahui kriteria/tingkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dibutuhkan suatu alat. Salah satu alat tersebut yaitu taksonomi SOLO. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui persentase kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa pada setiap tingkatan berdasarkan taksonomi SOLO dan mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa berdasarkan taksonomi SOLO materi  aritmatika social pada siswa kelas VIII-E di SMP Negeri 1 Gunungsari 2022/2023. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian campuran yaitu  penelitian kuantitatif dan kualitatif dengan menggunakan teknik pemilihan subjek yaitu purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode tes dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkatan siswa yang berada pada level prastruktural sebanyak 3,33%, level unistruktural 10%, level multistruktural 40%, level rasional 30% dan extended abstract 16,67%. Pada level prastruktural siswa sudah dapat menyebutkan beberapa informasi berupa apa yang diketahui dan apa yang ditanyakan. Pada level unistruktural siswa menyelesaikan masalah dengan mengaplikasikan informasi yang diketahui untuk menarik kesimpulan yang tepat tanpa harus melakukan operasi perhitungan. Pada level multistruktural siswa sudah mampu memahami konsep aritmatika sosial dengan sederhana, serta sudah mampu mengidentifikasi soal dengan menguraikan apa yang diketahui dan ditanyakan. Pada level relasional siswa menyelesaikan masalah dengan menghubungkan informasi atau penyelesaian yang sebelumnya untuk diaplikasikan dengan informasi yang diketahui untuk dapat menarik kesimpulan. Pada level extended sudah mampu memecahkan semua permasahan yang diberikan dengan tepat dan menarik kesimpulan dengan benar.

Abstract

Kesulitan belajar adalah suatu gangguan kondisi yang terjadinya pada siswa yang menyimpang antara kemampuan yang dimiliki dengan prestasi yang ditujukkan pada tiga akademik dasar seperti membaca, menulis, dan berhitung. Tujuan penelitaian ini adalah mendeskripsikan kesulitan belajar dan mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kesulitan belajar Siswa Kelas X TITL dalam menyelesaikan soal materi operasi matriks di SMKN 2 Gerung tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Metode penelitian adalah metode kualitatif. Banyak subjek penelitian ini adalah 6 siswa yang telah direduksi menjadi 3 kategori yaitu, tingkat kemampuan tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Instrument yang digunakan adalah tes dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesulitan belajar yang dialami subjek dengan kategori tinggi ialah kesulitan membaca dan menulis dengan faktor internal meliputi labilnya kondisi yang dipengaruhi lingkungan sosial kurang baik sedangkan faktor eksternal meliputi media masa, lingkungan sosial, dan ekonomi keluarga;  kesulitan belajar yang dialami subjek dengan kategori sedang ialah kesulitan membaca dan kesulitan menulis dengan faktor internal diantaranya kecerdasan siswa, motivasi siswa, dan minat siswa sedangkan faktor eksternal diantaranya metode guru dalam mengajar, sarana dan prasarana sekolah; dan kesulitan belajar yang dialami subjek dengan kategori rendah ialah kesulitan membaca, menulis dan menghitung dengan faktor internal meliputi tidak adanya bakat dan minat dalam matematika, serta kurang motivasi dalam belajar matematika. Sedangkan faktor eksternal meliputi orang tua yang kurang memperhatikan pendidikan anaknya, lingkungan bergaul kurang tepat, hubungan siswa dengan guru kurang baik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian bahwa adanya kesulitan belajar yang dialami oleh siswa yang dipengaruhi faktor-faktor kesulitan belajar yang meliputi dua faktor yaitu faktor internal dan faktor eksternal.

Abstract

In the twenty-first century, having an ability for thinking critically is essential. Students, including those with low prior knowledge in mathematics, are expected to have this ability. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to evaluate students' critical thinking abilities when they first start using PBL (Problem Based Learning). This study uses a qualitative approach. The research subjects consisted of two mathematics education students who were repeating lectures. The research instrument consisted of tests of critical thinking skills and interviews. The results obtained are indicators of critical thinking skills that appear well in students with low initial abilities is the interpretation of the indicators. As for the analysis of indicators, applying the solutions obtained, making inferences and concluding the results appear at an unfavorable level. These results indicate that students with low prior knowledge who study using PBL still have a low level of critical thinking.

Abstract

Teachers and students must learn how to pose problems effectively, hence there is a need for ongoing research on this topic. In order to identify the next topic that can be explored in the field of problem posing, this study aims to capture the latest research trends regarding problem posing over the last five years, starting from 2018-2023. The method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The results of this study are research on problem posing widely spread in various topics, including a) theoretical considerations of problem posing, b) the relationship between problem posing and other abilities, c) analysis of teacher problem posing abilities, d) analysis of students' problem posing abilities and e) learning design to improve problem posing skills. These findings indicate that the problem posing has been extensively researched by scholars. The development of teaching materials that involve problem posing and learning design to enhance prospective teacher problem posing skill are two potential area of future research.

Abstract

The Trapesio and Romberg methods are two classic numerical methods for calculating integrals. The Trapesio method is a numerical integration method that uses an approach based on the area of a trapezoid, but is often less accurate for non-linear functions. In contrast, the Romberg method, which uses Richardson extrapolation, offers higher accuracy even in working on more complex mathematical functions. The purpose of this study is to compare the accuracy and speed of completion in numerical integration on various mathematical functions. The type of research used is pure experimental. Using the Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) program, both methods are tested for accuracy and speed in solving the given problem. The results show that the Romberg method provides more accurate results than the Trapesium method with an average error of 0.979% in this study, where the result with the lowest error for the Romberg method is in the integral of the polynomial function with an error of 0%. In the case of the Trapesio method, the average error in this study is 9.497%, where the lowest error for the Trapesio method is in the exponential function integral with an error of 0.178%. However, the improvement of accuracy requires a fairly long program completion time on the Romberg method with an average completion time of 4,400 seconds, where the fastest completion time is seconds. Meanwhile, in the Trapezium method, the time required in program execution is very fast with an average of seconds, where the fastest completion time is seconds.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to explain how the obstacles experienced by mathematics education students through online learning during the pandemic. This research is descriptive research. Respondents in this study were students of mathematics education at the University of Mataram, amounting to 126 people. The data in this study were obtained through a questionnaire and analyzed by descriptive statistics. The results showed that most of the obstacles experienced by students were in terms of internet networks and inadequate devices. In addition, students also have difficulty understanding lecture material online and feel that their motivation and interest in learning has decreased during the pandemic.
