Abstract

Manjung Village, Wonogiri, has been facing serious challenges in waste management with increasing levels of environmental pollution due to a lack of knowledge of effective waste management. Existing organic waste has not been managed properly, resulting in negative impacts on public health and the environment and has no economic value. This activity aims to provide training to partners in managing organic waste in Manjung Village, Wonogiri District, into economically valuable organic fertilizer products. The partner of this activity is the “Manjung Berkah Waste Bank Group” in Manjung Village, Wonogiri District, Wonogiri Regency. Manjung Berkah Waste Bank was used as an activity partner because: (1) it already has waste management management, (2) existing human resources have not been able to manage organic waste optimally, and (3) the partner is one of the Waste Bank pilot institutions that is still active in Wonogiri Regency. The methods used include socialization, mentoring, and training activities. The results of this activity showed a significant increase in participants' knowledge and skills, as evidenced by the comparison of pre-test and post-test results. The increase showed that the training was effective. In addition, the partners also managed to produce organic fertilizer from previously unutilized waste. This activity not only increases environmental awareness but also opens up new economic opportunities for the community.

Abstract

The Girimanik Natural Forest Area (NFA) dominated by that has the potential to harbor high biodiversity, but research on this potential is still limited, especially on low-level plants such as epiphytic ferns. This study aims to ascertain the existence and variety of epiphytic ferns in the Girimanik Natural Forest Area (NFA). The data collection strategy employed was an exploratory approach utilizing the Systematic Line Sampling technique. The assessment of fern diversity in the Girimanik Natural Forest Area (NFA) revealed the presence of 18 species across 7 families: Lomariopsidaceae, Aspleniaceae, Polypodiaceae, Davalliaceae, Dryopteridaceae, Hymenophyllaceae, and Nephrolepidaceae. Epiphytic ferns inhabit the surfaces of host trees (phorophytes) and are characterized by rough and aged bark. Davallia denticulata and Davallia solida dominate the distribution of individual epiphytic ferns. Among the 18 species, two epiphytic ferns, Dryopteris arguta and Elaphoglossum blumeanum, are endangered, necessitating intensified conservation efforts to avert extinction. The findings of this study may serve as recommendations for stakeholders involved in conservation initiatives for epiphytic fern species, particularly those that are threatened.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The financial literacy mentorship program, which is focused on outdoor classroom activities at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah Program Khusus (MIM PK) 1 Sindon Boyolali, was initiated in response to elementary school pupils' lack of understanding of financial management. Many youngsters prioritize wants above needs and fail to understand the necessity of financial management at a young age. The program aims to improve kids' financial literacy through hands-on experiences and outdoor learning, while simultaneously raising environmental consciousness. The program employs a variety of tactics, including modeling buying and selling using toy money and veggies, sowing vegetable seeds in recycled plastic bottles, and organizing a Market Day where kids sell their produce. Students are taught the fundamentals of transactions, financial planning, and simple entrepreneurship. University students enrolled in the Accounting Education and Elementary School Teacher Education programs also mentor and assess the learning process. The program's results demonstrate that students' financial literacy improved significantly, with an average rise of 1.5 points between the pre-test and the post-test. Aside from financial literacy, kids learn the value of environmental stewardship through horticultural activities. This program successfully improves students' understanding of financial literacy while establishing environmentally conscious ideals. Keywords: financial literacy, outdoor classroom, green school, muhammadiyah elementary schoolABSTRAK Program pendampingan literasi keuangan berbasis kelas alam di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah Program Khusus (MIM PK) 1 Sindon Boyolali dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman siswa sekolah dasar mengenai pengelolaan keuangan. Abstract

The weed is a plant that develops in undesirable areas and harms surrounding plants. Nonetheless, this herb can be used as a source of organic material, as a soil coating to prevent erosion, and as a traditional medicine. Weed growth can vary depending on the weed’s characteristics and environmental conditions. The Selo region is a verdant tourist destination in the montane zone's highlands. The land clearing caused a change in the area's vegetation. This study seeks to determine the Montane zone's weed vegetation varieties, composition, and structure. It is also connected to the release of land in Selo as a tourist area. This form of research is conducted at three different altitudes (1.600m asl, 1.700m asl, dan 1.800m asl). The intercept-point and exploration method is used, as well as data analysis involving the determination of summed dominance ratio (SDR) values and diversity index analysis. Consequently, there are variations in the composition and dominance of herbaceous vegetation at each height. There are 27 species of vegetation, with Imperata cylindrica (SDR 55.67% and 27.73% at 1.600m asl and 1.800m asl, respectively) dominating at 1.600m asl and 1.800m asl, and Ageratina riparia (SDR 20.86%) dominating at 1.700m asl. The highest diversity of grass species at the altitude of 1.800 m asl (H' 2,17). The highest sorensen’s similarity index is at altitudes of 1.600 m asl and 1.700 m asl (SSI 52,17%). The ecosystem conditions influenced by abiotic factors and the management of ecosystems impact the diversity and uniformity of grass species in the mountainous region of the Selo Tourist Area.

Abstract

Green plants known as moss plants (Bryophyta) are considered low plants. Mosses can dwell in tropical regions, the highlands, and the lowlands, and some species even live in water. Temperature, humidity, living conditions, light intensity, habitat pH, substrate, and altitude are all known to have an impact on moss growth. At a height of 1,500–2,400 meters, in the montana zone, the diversity of species declines. Samiran Village, Selo District, Boyolali Regency, Central Java Province is one of the locations in the montana zone. Numerous variables in this location contribute to the habitat for moss growth. This study aims to ascertain the diversity and distribution of moss plants (Bryophyta) in the montana zone, Samiran Village, Selo District, Boyolali District, Central Java Province. There has never been researching on the inventory of moss plants in the montana zone of Samiran Village, Selo District. The study's findings revealed three divisions, Bryopsida, Hepacopsida, and Anthoceropsida, which were further divided into seven families, Marchantiaceae, Hypnaceae, Pottiaceae, Polytrichaceae, Lejeuneaceae, and Anytoniaceae. At an elevation of 1600–1800 meters above sea level, in the montana zone of Samiran Village, Selo District, Boyolali Regency, Central Java Province, the index value of moss plant diversity is 1.679, which is categorized as moderate. This is so because the study site functions well as a moss plant habitat.
