Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of interactive media on improving poetry reading skills of class X students. This study is based on the low ability of students to understand the meaning of poetry in depth which is characterized by weak mastery of diction, intonation, and appreciation. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design type Pretest-Posttest Nonequivalent Groups Design. The research sample consisted of two classes, each consisting of 27 students, namely the experimental group using interactive media in the form of poetry musicalization learning videos, and the control group using conventional methods. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test accessed through Google Form. The results of data analysis showed that the average posttest score of students in the experimental group (78.5) was significantly higher than that of the control group (68.4), with a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) = 0.000 <0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of interactive media has a significant effect on improving students' poetry reading skills.

Abstract

The implementation of the ‘No Poverty’ SDGs in Papua faces many challenges. In 2022, Papua recorded the highest percentage of poor people in Indonesia (26.8%), while recording the second highest GRDP growth nationally (14.8%). Although capital accumulation continues to increase, high economic growth has not been in line with poverty reduction. This study aims to analyze the effect of special autonomy funds, capital expenditure, investment, and population growth on economic growth and poverty in Papua with panel data of 29 districts/cities for the period 2017-2022 using SmartPLS 4. The results show that special autonomy funds increase economic growth and can reduce poverty through targeted labor-intensive programs. Capital expenditure have no significant effect on economic growth or poverty. Investment have no significant effect on economic growth and increase the poverty. Population growth has a negative impact on economic growth but reduces poverty through the informal sector. Economic growth itself has no effect on poverty because it is too dependent on the mining sector. In addition, there is no effect of economic growth as an intervening variable, indicating that the fiscal role in creating sustainable development in Papua has not been optimized. These findings can be used to determine policies for efficiency and targeting accuracy in allocating funds and the need for inclusive economic growth to reduce poverty in Papua.

Abstract

Fiscal decentralization has reshaped Indonesia’s regional governance, aiming to boost economic growth through local autonomy. This study investigates how locally generated revenue and central government transfers influence regional economic growth through expenditure autonomy, emphasizing ethical principles like wealth preservation and public welfare. Using path analysis on data from 38 provinces over 2020-2024, the research examines direct and mediated effects of revenue sources on economic outcomes. Locally generated revenue significantly drives growth, while central transfers only contribute when channelled through strategic spending, with expenditure autonomy mediating both effects. These findings highlight the critical role of targeted budget allocation in maximizing economic impact. The study concludes that aligning fiscal policies with ethical principles can foster equitable development across Indonesia’s diverse regions. Policymakers should reform transfer mechanisms to prioritize performance-based allocations and strengthen local capacity to enhance expenditure efficiency, though limitations like inconsistent data quality and pandemic disruptions suggest caution in generalizing results. Future research could explore sector-specific spending to further optimize decentralization.

Abstract

Clean water is a fundamental human need that plays a vital role in supporting public health, welfare, and the socio-economic sustainability of communities. However, in Pematang Rahim Village, Mendahara Ulu District, the management of the Community-Based Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) still faces various challenges, particularly in aspects of governance, transparency, and the application of justice principles. This community service program aims to strengthen SPAM governance based on Sharia principles through a Community-Based Participatory Action (CBPA) approach, which places the community as the main actor in every stage of activity. The program was implemented in four stages: identifying needs and problems, providing education and training on Sharia principles in social enterprises, offering hands-on assistance in drafting Sharia-based governance documents, and conducting monitoring and evaluation. The results show significant improvements in several areas. Participants’ understanding of Sharia principles increased to 90%, especially regarding the concepts of justice, trust (amanah), and partnership contracts such as musyarakah and mudharabah. Financial transparency and accountability improved by 75% through the implementation of a simple reporting system and collective deliberation mechanisms. Community participation in decision-making and supervision increased by 70%, while institutional strengthening through the formation of the Sharia SPAM Management Team rose by 80%, reflecting stronger independence and commitment to sustainability. Overall, the implementation of Sharia principles in SPAM governance not only enhances managerial capacity and institutional transparency but also fosters moral, social, and spiritual values oriented toward justice, sustainability, and the well-being of rural communities.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of regional government expenditure, public investment, and labor force participation rate on environmentally oriented economic growth in Malang City. Employing a quantitative explanatory design, the research uses time-series data from 2010 to 2024 and applies multiple linear regression analysis. The results indicate that government expenditure and public investment have a significant impact on economic growth, whereas the labor force participation rate does not have a statistically significant impact. Moreover, the relationship between economic growth and the Environmental Quality Index (EQI) demonstrates a pattern consistent with the Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC), where environmental degradation initially increases but later improves as income and environmental awareness rise. The study also reveals land cover changes due to urban expansion, highlighting the need for stronger spatial planning and the integration of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) to promote sustainable development. The findings provide valuable insights into local policy strategies that strike a balance between economic progress and environmental preservation.   Keywords: economic growth, environmental quality, government expenditure, investment, EKC
