Abstract

The improvement in quality and normalization of drainage throughout the Jayapura City area has already beenincluded in the flood control system plan, starting from enhancing and optimizing the primary, secondary, andtertiary drainage network systems. However, suboptimal drainage conditions are still found under existingconditions, indicating that the drainage network system in Jayapura City has not yet been well optimized. Thisresearch aims to determine the strategies for managing and maintaining the drainage system in the city ofJayapura. The analysis used in this research is qualitative descriptive analysis and spatial analysis. The resultsobtained for creating flood-prone area analysis as information included in the Jayapura City Spatial Plan (RTRW),providing socialization to the community, conducting outreach to the community, and implementing spatialplanning for flood prevention.

Abstract

The development of an area will cause the demand for water to continue to increase along with thepopulation growth rate. The fulfillment of food needs and the activities of the population are always closely relatedto the need for water. The demands are unavoidable but must be predicted and planned for optimal utilization.The tendency that often occurs is the imbalance between water availability and water demand. To achieve abalance between water demand and availability in the future, efforts are needed to assess the components of rawwater availability and demand as clean water sources. The source of clean water for the people of Bonggo District, Sarmi Regency, comes from borehole pumps,shallow wells (pumps), and rainwater. The analysis results on the need for domestic and non-domestic clean waterin the Bonggo District in 2023 show a total requirement of 210.38 liters/day or 0.0024 m3/second. The need forclean water is expected to increase by 2043, with the total requirement for domestic and non-domestic clean waterreaching 285,820 liters/day or 0.0033 m3/second. The availability and need for clean water sourced from rawwater that can be utilized as clean water comes from pump bore wells as a suitable raw water source. In terms ofquantity, it is available 24 hours a day and throughout the year. The investigation results of the pump bore wellraw water source meet the clean water quality requirements according to Government Regulation No. 82 of 2001,Level II. This is supported by groundwater, obtained through the analysis of geological conditions, land cover,morphology, and river flow, which have a high to very high groundwater potential score, located in the northernpart of Bonggo District. Economically, in terms of quantity, rainwater can be used as clean water due to its sufficientavailability, with high rainfall (104,775 mm/year) and year-round service (continuity), and in terms of quality, theresults of rainwater quality tests meet the clean water standards according to quality standards.

Abstract

Banyaknya usaha budidaya ikan keramba jaring apung di Danau Sentani diperkirakan memberikan dampak negatif terhadap lingkungan akibat adanya peningkatan kandungan nutrisi di perairan yang berasal dari sisa pakan yang tidak dimakan, ekskresi ikan dan kotoran. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui status mutu air Danau Sentani di Distrik Sentani Timur di mana terdapat banyak keramba jaring apung dan menyusun strategi pengendalian pencemaran akibat adanya aktivitas keramba jaring apung tersebut. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dan kualitatif, serta merumuskan strategi pengendalian pencemaran sisa pakan di Danau Sentani dengan analisis SWOT. Status mutu air danau Sentani diukur mengacu pada ketentuan pada Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 22 Tahun 2021 tentang Penyelenggaraan Perlindungan dan Pengelolaan Lingkungan Hidup. Pengambilan sampel air dilakukan pada lima lokasi di Distrik Sentani Timur, yaitu: Pantai Khalkote, Nendali, Puay (muara Jaifuri), Tanjung Elmo, dan Cafe Christo. Sedangkan untuk analisis strategi, pengumpulan data dilakukan lewat penyebaran kuesioner dan wawancara kepada beberapa narasumber. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Danau Sentani, khususnya di wilayah Distrik Sentani Timur, berada pada kondisi tercemar ringan dengan angka Indeks Pencemaran berkisar antara 3,227 sampai dengan 3,252. Strategi pengendalian pencemaran pakan dari budidaya ikan di keramba jaring apung adalah dengan memanfaatkan kekuatan dan peluang yang ada, yaitu: membuat kebijakan pengendalian pencemaran air dengan mengacu pada PP No.22 Tahun 2021, pembinaan dan pendampingan kepada kelompok pembudidaya ikan keramba dalam pengendalian pencemaran air danau, kerjasama para pemangku kepentingan dalam pengendalian pencemaran air Danau Sentani.

Abstract

Fishery waste is a problem that is very disturbing to the community because it causes strong odors, dirty views, and reduces water quality. Apart from having a negative impact, fishery waste still contains components needed for plant growth, such as nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), and potassium (K). Therefore, it is essential to conduct community service activities for POKBAKER that involve the conversion of fishery waste into liquid organic fertilizer (POC). The aim of carrying out service activities is to provide understanding to participants through lectures and practical activities in making fertilizer from fisheries. The implementation methods expressed are three, namely pre-preparation, socialization activities (pre-test, lecture, post-test), and practical activities. The materials used in practical activities are fishery waste (gills and offal), EM4, molasses, and rice washing water. The results show that the percentage of answers to the six pre-test questions given ranges from 53-100 percent, while the percentage of the eight post-test questions given ranges from 93-100 percent. So, the conclusion is that this activity can increase the knowledge and understanding of the Fishery Waste Processing Group (POKBAPER) from 53 percent to 90 percent. Participants have the ability to plant liquid organic fertilizer from fishery waste.

Abstract

The abundance of plankton holds very important role in determine fertility waters as primary producers in water. The abundance of plankton in a waters generally related with content nutrients that are in waters that. Study this aim for analyze level fertility waters sea merauke based on abundance of plankton and conditions physique chemistry in the water Merauke Sea. Example water is drawn at 25 station with use water sample. Results show abundance plankton in the water Merauke Sea belongs to high. Abundance phytoplankton varied range between 4,047,547 – 1,053,078 ind /m 3 / station. Dominating group is Bacilliophyceae, index diversity (H ') low <1, uniformity almost 0, index dominant low, while zooplankton is also classified as tall with weakness range between 5,500 – 460,281 ind /m3/ station. Condition physical and chemical seawater as temperature including homogeneous that is between 25.95 0 – 27.58 0 C, brightness low 0 – 2 m, turbidity high 2.89 – 730 NTU, pH including homogeneous between 7.06 – 8.11, very high DO between 8.00 – 9.55 mg/L. while nutrients are phosphate enough high.

Abstract

Global climate change has caused changes in rainfall patterns in various regions, including North Jayapura District, Papua Province. This study aims to analyze changes in rainfall characteristics in the region over the past two decades (2004–2023) using GSMaP satellite data. The analysis was carried out on the average monthly rainfall, annual rainfall, decadal trends, hourly rainfall intensity frequency, and daily rainfall duration. The results showed a decrease in annual rainfall accumulation in the 2014–2023 decades compared to the previous decade (2004–2013), with a difference of around 5,000 mm. The seasonal rainfall pattern still shows concentration in January to March, but with a significant decrease in these wet months. In addition, there was an increase in the frequency of short-duration rain (<1 hour) and moderate to very heavy rain, although the frequency was still relatively small. The high variability of annual rainfall also indicates an increasingly large climate. These findings indicate that North Jayapura District faces the risk of increasing extreme rainfall events and decreasing water availability in the long term. Therefore, adaptation efforts are needed through improving early warning systems, conservation of air catchment areas, and integration of satellite data and field observations in air resource management planning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi strategi mitigasi yang efektif dalam menghadapi bencana tsunami di kawasan pariwisata Teluk Youtefa, Kota Jayapura. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Analitic Hierarchy Process (AHP) dengan melibatkan para ahli dari berbagai instansi terkait, seperti BPBD, akademisi, Dinas pariwisata, DLHK, dan BMKG. Instrumen kuesioner berupa angket dibagikan kepada responden terpilih untuk mengumpulkan data penilaian dari para ahli. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi mitigasi yang paling diunggulkan adalah pendirian Sekolah Lapang Gempa Bumi, yang memberikan penekanan pada pendidikan dan pemahaman masyarakat terkait gempa bumi dan langkah-langkah evakuasi yang benar. Selain itu, aspek lingkungan juga mendapatkan penekanan yang tinggi dalam strategi mitigasi. Hal ini menunjukkan pentingnya perlindungan dan pemulihan lingkungan dalam menghadapi bencana tsunami. Aspek sosial dan ekonomi juga harus diperhatikan dalam strategi mitigasi. Perbedaan penekanan ditemukan antara para ahli dari instansi yang berbeda terhadap aspek-aspek tersebut. Oleh karena itu, rekomendasi strategi mitigasi haruslah mencakup semua aspek yang relevan dengan melibatkan pemangku kepentingan terkait. Diharapkan hasil penelitian ini dapat memberikan panduan dalam pengembangan rencana mitigasi bencana tsunami yang efektif dan komprehensif di kawasan pariwisata Teluk Youtefa, Kota Jayapura.

Abstract

This research investigates the effects of incorporating potassium nitrate (KNO₃) into coconut shell charcoal briquettes, emphasizing their physical and chemical characteristics. Briquettes were manufactured utilizing coconut shell charcoal powder, tapioca flour as a binder, and different concentrations of KNO₃ (0% and 10%) as an additive. The aim was to assess the impact of KNO₃ incorporation on the water content, ash content, volatile matter, fixed carbon, calorific value, and density of the briquettes. The findings indicated that incorporating KNO₃ resulted in elevated water and ash content, adversely affecting combustion efficiency. Briquettes with increased water content demonstrated reduced mechanical strength and inferior combustion performance. The addition of KNO₃ led to an increased volatile matter content, facilitating ignition of the briquettes while simultaneously resulting in higher smoke emissions. The addition of KNO₃ resulted in a decrease in fixed carbon content, which subsequently lowered the calorific value of the briquettes. The formulation without KNO₃ produced the densest briquette, suggesting that including KNO₃ reduced the briquette density. The inclusion of KNO₃ enhances ignition characteristics; however, it concurrently diminishes the briquettes' overall quality regarding combustion efficiency and calorific value. The Briquette B_1 exhibited the highest results in this investigation, with water content, ash content, volatile matter, fixed carbon content, calorific value, and density values of 4.97%, 1.87%, 17.25%, 80.88%, 7014 Cal/g, and 0.90 g/cm³, respectively.

Abstract

Danau Sentani merupakan ikon ekosistem penting di Provinsi Papua dan berperan sebagai penunjang aktivitas sosial, ekonomi, serta ekologi bagi masyarakat setempat. Pengembangan ekowisata dapat mendukung upaya konservasi sekaligus memberikan dampak ekonomi langsung yang signifikan bagi komunitas setempat, dengan memperhatikan tiga aspek penting dalam pengelolaannya, yaitu aspek ekologi, ekonomi, dan sumber daya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi potensi dan menyusun rencana strategis pengembangan ekowisata berkelanjutan di Danau Sentani. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif dengan metode analisis deskriptif. Data diperoleh dengan melakukan pengamatan langsung di lapangan, pengumpulan dokumentasi, penyebaran angket, serta pelaksanaan wawancara. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan metode SWOT untuk menyusun rencana strategis dalam memajukan ekowisata di kawasan Danau Sentani. Strategi yang paling sesuai untuk diterapkan adalah strategi SO (strengths and opportunities), dengan alasan bahwa sumber daya ekowisata yang tersedia memiliki peluang besar namun belum dioptimalkan sepenuhnya. Masyarakat setempat memberikan dukungan penuh terhadap upaya pemberdayaan karena dianggap mampu meningkatkan kesejahteraan mereka. Strategi pengembangan ekowisata Danau Sentani, meliputi: a) pengembangan dan penguatan konsep ekowisata untuk pariwisata di Danau Sentani; b) penataan kembali ruang untuk kegiatan ekowisata Danau Sentani; c) mendorong partisipasi dan pemberdayaan masyarakat lokal sebagai pelaku/pengelola ekowisata; d) mendukung pengembangan unit-unit usaha yang memiliki posisi strategis; e) pengelolaan aktivitas transportasi air atau sampan secara lebih tertata kompak, terkelola dan menarik; f) melakukan promosi yang gencar melalui media sosial yang masif dan pelaksanaan event Festival Danau Sentani.

Abstract

Salah satu masalah lingkungan yang tidak bisa lepas dari kegiatan manusia sehari-hari adalah munculnya sampah. Sampah yang berserakan, menumpuk dan tidak dikelola dengan baik akan berdampak buruk bagi lingkungan di sekitarnya. Masalah lingkungan yang sama juga terjadi di Distrik Heram Kota Jayapura yang sebagian wilayahnya merupakan kawasan permukiman. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi: karakteristik sampah, faktor yang mempengaruhi pengelolaan sampah, dan strategi pengelolaan sampah di Distrik Heram Kota Jayapura Provinsi Papua. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan metode analisis deskriptif serta metode SWOT. Data primer diperoleh lewat pengamatan langsung, penyebaran kuesioner dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukan jenis sampah yang banyak dihasilkan adalah sampah anorganik (60%). Faktor yang mempengaruhi pengelolaan sampah adalah teknis manajemen, teknis operasional, pembiayaan dan peran masyarakat. Strategi pengelolaan sampah bersifat agresif (Growth Oriented Strategy) dimana strategi yang diperlukan adalah strategi pengelolaan sampah berfokus pada strategi SO (Strength Opportunity) yaitu menggunakan kekuatan (Strength) untuk mengambil peluang (Opportunity). Program yang diusulkan adalah: peningkatan sarana prasarana pengangkut sampah, menyediakan lahan untuk pengomposan, pemanfaatan teknologi modern yang ramah lingkungan, dan meningkatkan daur ulang dengan prinsip 3R serta pemilahan sampah dari rumah tangga.
