Abstract

This reading and writing tutoring assistance program was implemented as an effort to overcome literacy difficulties experienced by upper-grade elementary students in Karang Anyar Village. Literacy problems, particularly in reading and writing skills, have become a serious concern as they directly affect students' academic performance and critical thinking abilities. The program was carried out using a participatory approach with tutoring methods tailored to the needs and skill levels of the students. The assistance was conducted regularly with materials focusing on improving reading comprehension and writing simple narratives. The results of the program showed an improvement in students' literacy skills, including reading fluency, comprehension of reading materials, and the ability to express ideas in written form. This program demonstrates that well-directed and continuous assistance can be an effective solution to address literacy challenges at the elementary school level, especially in rural areas such as Karang Anyar Village.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the improvement of students' learning outcomes by implementing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by PAJURA media in understanding the concepts of addition and subtraction operations on whole numbers. This study is classified as Classroom Action Research (CAR) comprising two cycles. The subjects are 27 second-grade students of SDN Mojorejo 1 Batu in the academic year 2022/2023. The data collection method in this research is through tests to gather students' learning outcomes data. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by PAJURA media can improve students' learning outcomes in understanding the concepts of addition and subtraction operations on whole numbers in grade 2. This improvement is evident in the student's learning outcomes. The initial data (pre-cycle) showed an average learning outcome of 67% with a mastery learning rate of 41%. After the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model assisted by PAJURA media in the first cycle, the average learning outcome increased to 79% with a mastery learning rate of 70%. Following the improvement in the second cycle, there was a further enhancement in the average learning outcome percentage, reaching 88%, with a mastery learning rate of 89%.

Abstract

The financial industry in Indonesia continues to grow through the provision of increasingly competitive investment services, opening up opportunities for companies to attract investors. This study aims to analyze the effect of leverage and liquidity on stock returns, as well as to assess whether company size strengthens this relationship. The research was conducted on non- bank financial sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period 2020–2023. A quantitative approach was used with secondary data taken from annual financial reports. The sample was determined purposively according to specific criteria, resulting in 40 observations. Data processing was performed using Eviews-13 software. Data analysis included descriptive tests, panel data regression, and moderation interaction tests (MRA). Independent variables included leverage (Debt to Equity Ratio) and liquidity (Current Ratio), with stock returns (price return) as the dependent variable, and company size (ln total assets) as the moderating variable. The results show that, both before and after MRA, leverage does not have a significant effect on stock returns (probability 0.86 & 0.56 > 0.05), and liquidity does not have a significant effect on stock returns (probability 0.12 & 0.90 > 0.05). Simultaneously, both before and after the MRA, leverage and liquidity do not have a significant effect on stock returns (probability 0.26 & 0.44 > 0.05). Furthermore, firm size does not function as a moderator in this research model, in the interaction between leverage and stock returns (probability 0.82 > 0.05), and in the interaction between liquidity and stock returns (probability 0.60 > 0.05). The coefficient of determination before MRA was 1.8% with an epsilon of 98.2%, and the coefficient of determination after MRA was 0%, indicating that the addition of moderation worsened the previous model.

Abstract

This study analyzez the representation of modern capitalism in Tere Liye’s novel Negeri Para Bedebah (The Land of the Blessed) through the theoretical framework of Luc Boltanski and Eve Chiapello’s The New Spirit of Capitalism. The background of this study focuses on the evolution of adaptive capitalism. The economic system absorbs social criticism, including inequality, poverty, exploitation and the breakdown of social solidarity. Artistic criticism addresses autonomy, freedom, authenticity, and the rejection of bourgeois life. The research aims to describe the forms of criticism within the novel’s narrative. It also reflects the pplitical economic pathologies of a country, such as corruption, collusion, and nepotism. The research method is qualitative, using a content analysis design with a sociology of literature approach. Data were collected from word, phrases, sentences, and paragraphs in the novel through reading and note taking techniques. Data reduction, presentation, and verification were performed. The results show that the character of Thom is a “Project Man” in Projective City,” The findings also reveal that the “new spirit” of capitalism is characterized by values of creativity, mobility, and network orientation, functioning as a cunning legitimation mechanism where demands for justice and autonomy are integrated into exploitative market logic. In this novel, this is clearly depicted throught systemic practices of corruption, collusion, and nepotism, such as global financial manipulation, hidden transactions, exploitation by business elites, and social and economic injustices. The novel also uncovers internal contradictions in capitalism, where adaptation actually triggers the destruction of solidarity and the illusion of freedom, thereby exacerbating political economic pathologies in a country.

Abstract

Abstract Cultivating creative thinking among vocational secondary school students represents a persistent pedagogical challenge, particularly when science learning remains disconnected from students' technical specialisation. Prior to this intervention, Grade X Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ) students at SMKN 5 Bulukumba demonstrated suboptimal creativity scores (M = 68.11; SD = 5.83), attributable to the fragmented delivery of Natural and Social Science (IPAS) content that lacked meaningful integration with vocational competencies. Drawing on constructivist and contextual learning principles, this classroom action research (CAR) investigated whether a Project Based Learning (PjBL) model anchored in the recycling of laboratory-generated electronic waste (e-waste) could systematically elevate student creativity. Twenty-six participants completed two structured action cycles, each comprising planning, action, observation, and critical reflection phases. Creativity was assessed through a validated pre-project observation checklist and a post-project rubric spanning four dimensions—fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration—complemented by a student response questionnaire. Descriptive statistics and normalised N-gain analysis were employed to quantify learning progression. Mean creativity scores rose markedly from Cycle I (M = 68.11) to Cycle II (M = 83.88), producing an N-gain of 0.49 (moderate category). The proportion of students achieving the Good creativity threshold (score ≥ 75) reached 88.46%, while 84.62% expressed favourable views of the instructional model. Standard deviation declined from 5.83 to 2.52, demonstrating that the intervention not only raised average performance but also narrowed inter-student disparity. Collectively, these outcomes affirm that embedding chemistry concepts within authentic, discipline-relevant projects constitutes a viable and scalable strategy for nurturing vocational students' creative capacities.
