Abstract

The aim of this service is to provide study guidance to elementary school students. The service methods used are lectures and direct practice, how mathematics learning guidance can be given directly to students. results and benefits of service. Effective mathematics tutoring is able to create conducive active learning conditions, this is very good for the process of developing students' potential abilities optimally. Proper mathematics tutoring is able to provide changes in behavior and characteristics for the better, which will later be useful for students so that they can place themselves in the right situation. Assist in adjusting the process of learning activities and preparing learning programs for students so that academic potential can be achieved. Help teachers understand the characteristics of students and can direct students in developing their abilities and potential in accordance with the students' interests and talents. It becomes material for self-evaluation, whether the learning program and learning activities carried out are in accordance with the student's competency or not.

Abstract

The socialization in this service aims to find out the identification of ciplukan, the use of the ciplukan plant (Physalis angulata L) in Hiliganowo Village, and to find out the community's response to the ciplukan plant as a medicinal plant. The method used in this service is data collection techniques through observation, interviews and documentation. Based on the results and findings of research that has been carried out, the identification of ciplukan is that ciplukan is a wild plant in the form of a bush or shrub. Having a height of 0.1-1 m, ciplukan also has an indistinct main stem with quite a lot of branches and forks and has a hollow stem, a single leaf with a stem, a single flower with an oval or elliptical stem, and has a round fruit with seeds. Many are small and green when unripe and yellowish when ripe. The use of the ciplukan plant (Physalis angulata L) as a traditional medicine in Hiliganowo Village is used as a medicine for heartburn and allergies (itching on the skin).

Abstract

This study aims to explore the local wisdom values of the Nias Selatan community and investigate the potential integration of these values into a conservation-based Science curriculum. The method employed is literature study, which includes the analysis of documents, articles, and relevant sources regarding local wisdom and environmental education. The results indicate that the local wisdom of Nias Selatan, such as sustainable agricultural practices and marine resource management, embodies important values that align with conservation principles. Integrating these values into the Science curriculum can not only enhance students' understanding of the environment but also foster a caring attitude towards sustainability. Despite challenges in implementation, such as a lack of resources and teacher training, recommendations for the development of a conservation-based curriculum are proposed. This research is expected to contribute to efforts in environmental preservation and the development of relevant education in Nias Selatan.

Abstract

This service aims to enhance awareness of local wisdom among the young generation of Nias through the preservation of the Hombo Batu tradition. Utilizing an educational approach, various activities such as seminars, workshops, and hands-on practices were conducted to introduce the cultural values embedded in this tradition. The results indicate an increase in understanding and active participation of the youth in cultural preservation. Furthermore, collaboration with local communities and educational institutions strengthens the sustainability of this program. It is hoped that through these efforts, the youth of Nias can maintain and develop their cultural heritage while building a strong identity amidst the currents of globalization.

Abstract

This community service aims to strengthen the teaching of mathematics and natural sciences (Science) in schools in South Nias through the integration of local wisdom values. With a cultural-based approach, this service focuses on developing teaching methods that not only introduce scientific concepts but also connect the lessons to students' experiences, traditions, and local customs. The activities involve teachers and students in the development of learning media based on local wisdom, teacher training, and the implementation of project-based learning models. The results of this service show that the integration of local wisdom in teaching enhances students' understanding of mathematical and science concepts, strengthens their motivation to learn, and preserves local cultural values. Additionally, teachers acquired new skills in developing contextual and creative teaching methods. This service makes a positive contribution to both the preservation of culture and the development of education that is more relevant to the local context.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to characterize Tri Hita Karana's moral principles as they appear in the H. Rhoma Irama album "Keramat". This study use content analysis as a qualitative tool. The findings of this study demonstrate that there are five moral values: (1) the value of honesty; (2) the value of discipline; (3) the value of caring for others and paying attention to them; (4) the value of respecting others; and (5) the value of fairness. Therefore, it may be claimed that one of the moral precepts present in the lyrics of many sacred songs is the moral precept of respect for other people. Suggestions (1) Teachers and music enthusiasts can learn a lot from this about overcoming obstacles in life. In addition, this holy song by H. Rhoma Irama has significant queries for all of us since it highlights how crucial it is for kids to obey their parents, particularly the mother who gave birth, reared, and took care of us all. The researcher proposes that listeners and admirers of this song should incorporate the five moral principles into their daily lives so that they can safeguard others no matter where they are; (3) the purpose of this research is to encourage readers to delve deeper into other albums to find more inspiration. It also serves as a resource for other scholars who bring up pertinent study topics.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the local wisdom of the Nias community, particularly the concept of Lowalangi (God) within the context of Tri Hita Karana. This concept emphasizes the balance between humans, nature, and God as a foundation for daily life. Through a literature study method, this research analyzes various sources that link spiritual values, customary practices, and environmental preservation within Nias culture. The findings indicate that Lowalangi serves as a unifying element in social and ecological relationships, creating harmony in the interactions between the community and the environment. This research also highlights the challenges of modernization faced by the Nias community and the importance of education and policies that support the preservation of local wisdom. It is hoped that the results of this study will contribute to a deeper understanding of the integration of local values in efforts towards sustainability and cultural preservation.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the influence of local wisdom on soil fertility in South Nias. Local wisdom, which includes traditional agricultural practices such as the use of organic fertilizers, crop rotation, and sustainable forest management, has proven effective in enhancing soil quality and productivity. Through a literature review approach, data were collected from various sources to analyze the relationship between local practices and soil fertility. The results indicate that local wisdom not only improves soil fertility but also contributes to environmental preservation and ecosystem sustainability. These findings underscore the importance of integrating local wisdom into modern agricultural practices to achieve sustainable food security and community well-being in South Nias.

Abstract

Hombo Batu is a traditional custom that has been practiced for a long time in South Nias. It not only serves as a form of entertainment but also teaches values of courage and cooperation within the community. This tradition involves two teams facing each other, aiming to defeat the opponent through physical strength and strategy. This study aims to explore how Hombo Batu, as a cultural heritage, teaches the younger generation about the importance of courage, cooperation, and solidarity. The research method used is a field study with a qualitative approach, which includes direct observation, interviews, and literature review to collect data on the implementation and meaning behind this tradition. The research findings indicate that Hombo Batu is more than just a physical game; it also serves as a profound character-building tool. Courage in facing challenges and cooperation among team members are key aspects that can be applied to the social life of the Nias community. Furthermore, Hombo Batu also plays a role in preserving the cultural identity of the Nias people amidst the tides of globalization. This study is expected to enrich the understanding of the importance of preserving local traditions as a tool for character education in the modern era.
