Abstract

Understanding the Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) During Tank Cleaning Activities in MT. Success Marlina XXXIII. Supervised by Dr. Anak Agung Ngurah Ade Dwi Putra Yuda, S.Si.T., M.Pd., M.Mar. and Mrs. Maulidiah Rahmawati, S.Si., M.Sc. Tank cleaning needs to be done when the tanker changes cargo, this aims to prevent damage to the next cargo. Great attention is needed to human resources and the application of work discipline on board ships. In the book Safe Working Practice for Merchant Seafarers in chapter 8.3 there is an explanation of PPE which is personal protective equipment that is useful for reducing risks from various types of work including tank cleaning activities. Obtained from research results using the fishbone analysis method, researchers found that the crew of the MT. Success Marlina XXXIII does not fully understand or know about the rules and procedures for using PPE, this is because there is no drill regarding the use of PPE and there is no direction or notification from officers regarding the existing rules. The use of PPE when tank cleaning is not fully used properly, this happens because PPE spares are limited, there is no awareness regarding personal safety, the environment is hot, officers are less strict. It is recommended that the use of PPE be carried out optimally according to company regulations and the code of safe working practice for merchant seafarers in order to minimize work accidents.

Abstract

Pengelolaan dokumen merupakan faktor penting dalam menunjang kelancaran operasional perusahaan, khususnya pada perusahaan keagenan awak kapal seperti PT Arjuna Samudera Indonesia. Dalam rangka meningkatkan efektivitas dan efisiensi pengelolaan dokumen crew on board, perusahaan telah menerapkan sistem digital berbasis aplikasi, yaitu Avaca. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis implementasi penggunaan aplikasi Avaca serta mengukur tingkat efektivitasnya dalam pengelolaan dokumen crew on board. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif dengan teknik analisis Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) untuk mengukur tingkat kepentingan dan kinerja dari beberapa indikator seperti usability, efektivitas, efisiensi, keamanan, kualitas informasi, dan dampaknya terhadap operasional perusahaan. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, kuisioner kepada 22 responden yang merupakan karyawan perusahaan, serta studi pustaka. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi Avaca telah memberikan kontribusi positif dalam pengelolaan dokumen crew on board. Rata-rata tingkat importance berkisar antara 4,5 hingga 4,8 dan tingkat performance berkisar antara 4,3 hingga 4,7, menunjukkan bahwa seluruh indikator dinilai memiliki tingkat kepentingan dan kinerja yang tinggi. Namun, beberapa aspek masih belum berjalan secara optimal, terutama dalam hal struktur data yang belum sepenuhnya terorganisir dan ketergantungan pada server yang dapat menyebabkan keterlambatan pembaruan data. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, disimpulkan bahwa implementasi aplikasi Avaca di PT Arjuna Samudera Indonesia sudah cukup baik, namun masih membutuhkan peningkatan dalam dukungan teknis dan pelatihan bagi pengguna agar sistem dapat berjalan lebih stabil dan maksimal. Saran yang diberikan adalah peningkatan infrastruktur teknologi informasi, optimalisasi fitur pencarian dan penyimpanan dokumen, serta pelatihan rutin bagi staf untuk meningkatkan kemampuan dalam menggunakan aplikasi secara efektif dan efisien.

Abstract

This research aims to explore and analyze the garbage management plan implemented on board ships. In this context, the author conducts direct observation to understand the problems encountered in executing the plan. Through firsthand experience, the author can identify various obstacles that may arise, especially those related to non-compliance with existing official procedures and regulations.The data collection methods used in this study include several approaches, allowing the author to obtain comprehensive information regarding waste management practices on ships. By using appropriate analytical techniques, the author seeks to find solutions to the problems faced in garbage management and provide applicable recommendations to improve the plan's effectiveness.The results of this research are expected to provide better insights into the challenges faced in waste management within the maritime environment, and to encourage the development of better policies for waste management on board ships. Thus, this research not only contributes to academic literature but also provides practical benefits for the shipping industry and environmental management.

Abstract

Grounding or stranding is a shipping accident where the ship stops due to the lowest part of the ship's side or what is known as the keel touching the bottom of the water because the water depth is insufficient so that the ship cannot move freely. Grounding incidents occur more often in shallow waters or narrow shipping lanes. One of the grounding incidents was experienced by researchers while practicing sailing on the MV. Belik Mas, a container ship. At that time, the MV. Belik Mas ran aground when entering the Kapuas River Pontianak shipping lane. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the causes of the grounding of the MV. Belik Mas ship on the Kapuas River shipping lane and analyze the rescue efforts made. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach with the root cause analysis method which aims to identify the cause of the problem to the root cause. The results of the study showed that the root cause of the grounding of the MV. Belik Mas ship was human error, namely due to the lack of consideration in decision making by the captain and bad weather in the form of strong winds.

Abstract

Work accidents when entering enclosed spaces (water ballast tank) pose a high risk that can endanger the safety of ship crew. This study aims to identify: 1) the factors causing work accidents during entry into the enclosed space (water ballast tank) on MT. Emmanuel; and 2) efforts to minimize the risk of such accidents. This research was conducted over 12 months during onboard practical training on MT. Emmanuel using fishbone analysis as the data analysis technique. Based on the analysis, accident causes include worker overconfidence, non-compliance with the permit to enter procedures, lack of oxygen and toxic gas monitoring, and poor communication among crew members. Suggested measures to minimize accidents are the regular implementation of safety meetings, internal sanctions for SOP violators, periodic drills for entering hazardous spaces, and disciplined enforcement of the permit to enter in accordance with ISGOTT 5th Edition Chapter 10 standards. The implementation of these steps is expected to improve crew safety and reduce the risk of accidents in enclosed spaces.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui manajemen risiko pada kegiatan embarkasi dan debarkasi penumpang di Kapal KMP Gili Iyang yang beroperasi di Pelabuhan Bawean. Pendekatan penelitian yang di gunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan metode HIRARC sebagai alat analisis utama. Teknik pengambilan sampel di lakukan secara Probability Sampling menggunakan pendekatan Proportional Stratified Random Sampling, di mana responden yang terlibat adalah 30 penumpang yang memiliki pengalaman langsung menggunakan jasa Kapal KMP Gili Iyang saat proses naik dan turun dari kapal. Pengumpulan data di lakukan melalui observasi, dokumentasi, serta penyebaran kuesioner kepada responden terpilih. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat di simpulkan bahwa proses embarkasi dan debarkasi penumpang di Kapal KMP Gili Iyang masih memiliki potensi risiko yang perlu mendapat perhatian serius, terutama pada kategori risiko tinggi hingga sangat tinggi. Oleh karena itu, penerapan strategi pengendalian risiko yang efektif menjadi hal yang tepat untuk meningkatkan keselamatan dan kenyamanan penumpang di Pelabuhan Bawean Identifikasi Risiko Embarkasi dan Debarkasi KMP Gili Iyang di Pelabuhan Bawean Identifikasi risiko dilakukan dengan metode HIRARC (Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control) yang sistematis untuk mengungkap potensi bahaya selama proses embarkasi dan debarkasi penumpang. Risiko yang terdeteksi meliputi tergelincir di dermaga, kerusakan fasilitas, serta kepadatan penumpang yang berpotensi menyebabkan kecelakaan. Penilaian risiko dilakukan berdasarkan tingkat kemungkinan (Likelihood) dan dampak (Consequence). Pengendalian risiko diterapkan melalui prinsip hierarki: eliminasi, substitusi, rekayasa teknis, pengendalian administratif, dan penggunaan alat pelindung diri (APD). Penerapan HIRARC secara konsisten meningkatkan keselamatan dan efisiensi operasional pelabuhan, khususnya pada kapal KMP Gili Iyang di Pelabuhan Bawean.

Abstract

Pencemaran limbah Bahan Berbahaya dan Beracun (B3) cair menjadi salah satu tantangan utama dalam penerapan konsep Green Port di pelabuhan. Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh pencegahan pencemaran limbah B3 cair terhadap penerapan program Green Port di Terminal Berlian Surabaya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan regresi logistik ordinal. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada pengelola limbah di terminal dan telah diuji validitas serta reliabilitasnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa upaya pencegahan pencemaran limbah B3 cair, yang meliputi efektivitas sistem Instalasi Pengolahan Air Limbah (IPAL), pengolahan darurat limbah, dan penerapan teknologi ramah lingkungan, berpengaruh signifikan terhadap keberhasilan penerapan program Green Port. Abstract

Pada industri transportasi tepatnya transportasi laut, penggunaan teknologi informasi digunakan untuk memonitoring kerja operasional, distribusi, laporan, dan seluruh kegiatan kerja. Maka dari pemerintah berupaya menciptakan suatu sistem informasi yaitu sistem single submission pengangkut yang termasuk dalam Indonesia national single window untuk memudahkan dan memperlancar kegiatan kepengurusan kapal. Sistem ini dibentuk untuk dengan tujuan untuk menyederhanakan proses kepengurusan dokumen kapal dalam hal ini PT Trans Cakrawala Perkasa sebagai Perusahaan keagenan kapal telah mengimplikasikan sistem single submission pengangkut dalam operasionalnya. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui penerapan sistem single submission pengangkut terhadap efisiensi dan ketepatan waktu pada clearance kapal, selain itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kendala kendala yang dihadapi dalam penerapan sistem single submission pengangkut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan SPSS versi 27 serta di uji dengan metode uji t berpasangan. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukan bahwa adanya perbedaan waktu signifikan terhadap proses clearance kapal pada saat sebelum penerapan sistem single submission pengangkut dengan sesudah penerapan sistem single submission pengangkut. Hal ini dapat dibuktikan dengan hasil yang diperoleh pada uji t berpasangan yang menunjukan hasil nilai t tabel = 6.974 dengan nilai p < 0.001 dan dikuatkan dengan uji perbandingan rata-rata sebelum penerapan adalah 54.25 Skor dan sesudah penerapan meningkat menjadi 68.13 sehingga dapat di ketahui Terdapat kenaikan rata-rata sebesar 13.88 poin setelah penerapan.

Abstract

This research aims to design an efficient and effective online seafarer's book publishing service system, besides that this research is also carried out to find out the enthusiasm of service users for the development of online seafarer's book publishing service services . The method used in designing the development of this system is design thingking. This method is used to find a solution to a problem by means of a collaborative process with potential users so that the resulting product can be in accordance with the needs and desires of the user. The results of the study show that a website-based user interface design is designed using figma and has been adapted to the needs of the user. The design was then tested using the Net Promoter Score (NPS) through a questionnaire accompanied by design drawings, which were assessed directly by the service users

Abstract

As an archipelagic country, Indonesia has significant potential for the utilization of renewable energy, particularly wind energy in maritime areas with low wind speeds (3–6 m/s). This study aims to design and test a vertical Savonius wind turbine system equipped with a Perturb and Observe (P&O) Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm as a power source for shipboard water heating systems. The research method applied is Research and Development (R&D), integrating several components such as a DC generator, full-wave bridge rectifier, INA219 current sensor, anemometer cup sensor, ESP32 microcontroller, and a monitoring interface utilizing Google Spreadsheet and a 20x4 LCD. The system was tested under two operating conditions: without MPPT and with MPPT. The experimental results show that the application of the MPPT algorithm successfully increased power output by up to 272.64% while maintaining voltage stability despite varying wind speeds. Nevertheless, the average output power of 2.605 W remained insufficient to meet water heating requirements within a short time. For example, charging a 12V 50Ah battery would require approximately 9.6 consecutive days of operation, highlighting the system’s limitations in high-demand scenarios. Despite these constraints, the findings demonstrate that the vertical Savonius wind turbine integrated with MPPT has strong potential as a clean and environmentally friendly alternative energy solution for maritime applications, particularly for small-scale onboard electrical loads. This study contributes to renewable energy utilization in the shipping sector and provides a foundation for further technological development and optimization.
