Abstract

Abstract: The Great Parents School Program is a community empowerment effort to improve family parenting capacity. This activity is implemented through the Unitomo Community Service Program (KKN) in Keputih Village, Surabaya, with the aim of educating parents about positive parenting patterns, effective communication within the family, and strengthening the role of parents as the first and primary educators of children. The implementation method uses a participatory approach through counseling, focus group discussions, and simulations of parenting practices relevant to community needs. Results indicate that participants gain a new understanding of adaptive parenting strategies, are able to reflect on their roles within the family, and have basic skills to implement healthier and more communicative parenting patterns. Furthermore, this activity strengthens collaborative relationships between universities and the community in creating resilient, community-based families. Thus, the Great Parents School can serve as a sustainable educational platform for the community, particularly in supporting optimal child growth and development. Abstract

The community service activities carried out by the author and his team are one of the actions that originate from a sense of empathy and concern for social phenomena that occur in the Indonesian educational environment. One of these social phenomena is the problem of developing the Merdeka curriculum, especially in educational units that have the label Special Schools. Educators at Special Schools need direction regarding the implementation of independent curriculum development and all forms of school optimization. Community service activities aim to help Special Schools develop the Merdeka curriculum according to the situation and conditions of the school. Curriculum development will optimize school conditions. If school conditions are optimal, then automatically the teaching staff and students will feel optimal in developing their own wealth. The Special School targeted in this community service action is a school that focuses on special children with autism. Autism is a disorder that occurs in the brain and nerves, affecting the sufferer's behavior and attitude. Autistic children should not be underestimated or even ignored. Autistic children need us as fellow humans to support and love their condition. Keywords: Special School, Autism, Independent Curriculum

Abstract

This research aims to explain the importance of mastering concepts and knowledge of the pragmatic theory of truth. Mastering the pragmatic theory of truth will lead educators to a more intelligent and conscientious pattern of self-development. Education involves two basic components, namely: educators and students. Educators who are the spearhead of the education system must have full self-awareness of their own development. One of the self-development that an educator needs to do is develop professionalism. Teacher professionalism can be developed in many ways, one of which is developing knowledge of concepts or theories that are relevant to their field of work. One of the concepts or theories that educators need to master and develop is the pragmatic theory of truth. This research is a descriptive phenomenological analysis research. The data sources used were 26 teachers at Xin Zhong Middle School in Surabaya. This research was conducted using interview and observation techniques as a way to obtain data. The research was conducted because it was found that there were several educators who did not understand the concept of pragmatic truth which was demonstrated through the attitudes and viewpoints of educators, thereby influencing the learning and professional processes that occurred in educational institutions. This research found that the pragmatic theory of truth which is well mastered by educators will produce individuals who are more intellectual and virtuous by involving conscience as an indicator in expanding knowledge. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan pentingnya penguasaan konsep dan pengetahuan terhadap teori kebenaran pragmatis. Adanya penguasaan teori kebenaran pragmatis akan membawa pendidik ke pola pengembangan diri yang lebih berakal dan bernurani. Pendidikan melibatkan dua komponen dasar yakni: pendidik dan peserta didik. Pendidik yang merupakan ujung tombak terhadap sistem pendidikan harus memiliki kesadaran diri penuh terhadap pengembangan dirinya. Salah satu pengembangan diri yang perlu dilakukan oleh seorang pendidik adalah pengembangan profesionalisme. Profesionalisme guru dapat dikembangkan melalui banyak cara, salah satunya adanya pengembangan pengetahuan terhadap konsep atau teori yang relevan dengan bidang pekerjaanya. Salah satu konsep atau teori yang perlu dikuasai dan dikembangkan oleh pendidik adalah teori kebeneran pragmatis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian analisis deskriptif fenomenologi. Sumber data yang dijadikan adalah guru SMP Xin Zhong Surabaya yang berjumlah 26 orang. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik wawancara dan observasi sebagai cara untuk memeroleh data. Penelitian dilakukan karena ditemukan adanya beberapa pendidik yang tidak memahami konsep kebenaran pragmatis yang ditunjukkan melalui sikap dan sudut pandang pendidik sehingga memengaruhi proses pembelajaran dan profesional yang terjadi di lembaga pendidikan. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa teori kebenaran pragmatis yang dikuasai dengan baik oleh pendidik akan melahirkan pribadi yang lebih berintelektual dan berbudi pekerti dengan melibatkan nurani sebagai indikator dalam meluaskan pengetahuan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan eloborasi sosiosemiotik yang bisa dilihat pada relasi tanda yang terdapat pada tradisi Mappadendang. Tradisi Mappadendang merupakan salah satu tradisi yang diwariskan oleh suku Bugis kepada masyarakat Sulawesi Selatan. Tradisi ini bertujuan untuk menyatukan petani dengan masyarakat sekitar dalam satu rasa yang disebut rasa kekeluargaan sehingga memunculkan kebersamaan. Tradisi ini memiliki makna sebagai ungkapan rasa syukur kepada Tuhan atas berhasilnya panen padi di suatu daerah. Tradisi Mappadendang kaya dengan ragam tanda dan simbol di dalamnya. Penelitian ini berfokus pada tanda tanda yang terdapat dalam tradisi Mappadendang. Metode penelitian ini bersifat kualitatif dengan menggabunggkan kedua teori sosiologi sastra dan semiotik. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa ada relasi antara tanda dengan kehidupan masyarakat Relasi tanda pada tradisi Mappadendang melahirkan temuan bahwa budaya merupakan aset yang tidak bisa hilang dalam peradaban manusia dan budaya itu akan terus melekat dalam diri pengikutnya dan diwariskan secara turun temurun tanpa disadari oleh pelaku budaya itu sendiri.

Abstract

Tulisan ini memaparkan pengabdian masyarakat yang telah dilakukan kepada personel Wing Udara 2 Puspenerbal dalam bentuk pelatihan Bahasa Inggris. Penguatan kemampuan Bahasa Inggris diperlukan untuk mendorong tiap personel Wing Udara 2 Puspenerbal memahami struktur bahasa asing baik dalam konteks tertulis maupun lisan. Dengan demikian, pelatihan bahasa Inggris tidak hanya dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa asing, namun juga mendorong kemandirian dan kepercayadirian yang lebih baik. Aspek hard skill pun dapat diperkuat melalui peningkatan soft skill. Hal tersebut dilakukan terutama dalam mendorong partisipasi aktif para personel dalam memelajari, memahami, dan mempraktikkan bahasa asing sesuai dengan perkembangan zaman secara efektif, efisien, dan relevan.

Abstract

This study examines the integration of character education values in the Indonesian legend Mount Lewotobi from East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara. Character education is a fundamental aspect of human development, shaping morals and personalities to create more humane individuals, and local legends serve as valuable mediums for imparting ethical lessons. Employing a qualitative approach, this research utilized documentation as the primary data collection technique and applied Spradley’s cultural theme analysis model to analyze the narrative. Data validation was ensured through triangulation techniques. The findings reveal that the Mount Lewotobi legend conveys significant character education values, particularly in teaching ethics and manners. The study underscores the rich correlation between education and literature, emphasizing the potential of local wisdom as an effective medium for character education. By incorporating such narratives into educational curricula, students can connect with their cultural heritage while fostering moral and ethical growth, making local legends a vital resource for holistic education.

Abstract

Communication is essential in expressing the desires of humans, as their lives are intertwined with it. Producing speech acts is what happens when we interact with others. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach to analyze qualitative data. The movie "Failure to Launch" is where the data comes from. This study used data collection techniques such as observing, analyzing visuals, and researching in libraries to find literature sources. Based on the findings and analysis, the researcher observed 9 instances of apologizing speech in 6 scenes from the movie "Failure to Launch". The characters in the movie use apology statements to convey their emotions. The emotions depicted include feelings of apology, compassion, remorse (guilt), and condolences.

Abstract

In the era of digitalization, everyone can easily access religious issues that occur in society. Understanding Philosophy is expected to be able to minimize problems that arise in society and in the school environment. Religion and philosophy both have an important role in the process of internalizing students' values of religious moderation while at school. Students will be instilled with a true and tolerant understanding of religion. With a correct understanding of religion and philosophy, the school facilitates the process of internalizing moderate religious values in society. It was through Al-Farabi's philosophy that first gave rise to the idea that revelation and philosophy are studies that have the same goal in their substantive form, namely as the first science of truth. Al-Farabi and his leading philosophers explained that the religion brought by a prophet reaches the peak truth through revelation, while a philosopher reaches the peak truth through the power of reason and reflections using ratios. Religion and revelation have an integration point where they complement each other. The internalization of the value of religious moderation in schools must be given from an early age, so that students have the correct knowledge and understanding of moderate and non-radical religions.

Abstract

Pengetahuan, filsafat dan agama adalah tiga aspek yang membimbing manusia dalam mencapai tujuan hidupnya. Dorongan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat akan menciptakan keterhubungan antara individu dan menyebabkan adanya aliran barang dan jasa dalam perekonomian. Uang memiliki fungsi ganda sebagai alat tukar dan sebagai standar ukuran nilai. Dalam bidang filsafat agama, uang seharusnya memberikan manfaat bagi kesejahteraan masyarakat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi uang dan kekayaan secara teoritis dan mengaitkannya dengan perspektif filosofis keagamaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif sebagai pendekatan utama.

Abstract

Intercultural or another term for intercultural is a concept that brings together two or more cultural elements to then be integrated into new knowledge and understanding for each individual or group of people who want to know about the development of foreign cultures. In learning literature, intercultural is needed as a forum to develop global insight and knowledge. Learning literature is not only learning about the nature and content of literary works, learning literature means learning to be cultured and cultivating the culture itself. The data for this study were taken from famous novels from each country. The research data are: A novel entitled "Geisha" by Arthur Golden from Japan and a novel entitled "Cantik itu Luka" by Eka Kurniawan from Indonesia. This study is a qualitative phenomenological study by raising the similarities in culture and the position of women in the two novels used as data. This study aims to explain that there are similarities in culture in Indonesia and Japan that can be observed through learning literature, especially fictional works in the form of novels. This study found that Japanese women and Indonesian women are considered inferior and only tools to satisfy male lust. But behind that assumption, there is strength and politeness in women that makes them valuable and able to rise against the reality of life presented in front of them. Women are not weak creatures, whatever their culture, women are important entities that support the sustainability of human life on earth.
