Abstract

This study elaborates on the governance pattern of the Ternate Sultanate as a form of integration between customary law and Islamic law through modern constitutional concepts. This research is significant for enriching the discourse on the diversity of governance systems based on local Indonesian values, which remains limited compared to studies on modern systems. A qualitative method was applied through the study of historical manuscripts, literature, and intensive dialogue with key actors. The findings reveal that this tiered structure represents a harmonious integration of customary law is represented by the Bobato Dunia institution and the Fala Raha council, Islamic law is represented by the Bobato Akhirat institution in the spiritual system, while modern constitutional law concepts are evident in the division of powers and the leader selection mechanism, which reflects an elite democracy. This governance model of the Sultanate demonstrates the adaptation of local values within a modern state system. It also recommends the formal validation of customary governance systems and policies that support regional autonomy without compromising national integration. Further research is required on public perception and comparative studies with other sultanates.

Abstract

Learning about the signs of puberty plays an important role in equipping students with an understanding of the physical and psychological changes that occur during puberty. However, there are still obstacles in students' understanding due to the lack of the right approach in delivering the material. This study aims to apply the scaffolding method to improve students' learning outcomes in understanding the signs of puberty. The scaffolding method is applied through several stages, namely modeling (giving examples), bridging (bridging initial knowledge), contextualizing (connecting with everyday life), questioning (guiding with questions), scaffolding feedback (providing gradual feedback), independent practice (independent practice), and reflection & review (reflection and reinforcement). The application of this method allows students to gain a deeper understanding gradually, with assistance provided as needed until they can learn independently. The results of the study showed that the scaffolding approach was able to increase student involvement in the learning process, clarify the concepts taught, and significantly improve their learning outcomes. Thus, the scaffolding method can be an effective strategy in teaching the material on the signs of puberty and can be adapted in learning other materials.

Abstract

Rice is the main food commodity in Indonesia. The main abiotic factor affecting rice productivity is soil fertility. This study aimed to determine the soil fertility status (SFS) of paddy fields in Polewali District, Polewali Mandar Regency, West Sulawesi. The research was conducted by surveying soil characteristics supported by soil chemical analysis at the Laboratory of Soil Science and Environmental Conservation, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Muslim Indonesia. The research was conducted in Polewali District, with the survey area consisting of 4 land map units (LMU). Soil fertility status was determined based on the criteria of each soil fertility parameter, namely: soil pH, organic C-content, cation exchange capacity, available P, Potassium content, and base saturation. The results showed that the SFS in Polewali District was classified as low. Only the base saturation parameters in LMU-2 and LMU-3 were classified as high. In addition, all parameters were only classified as very low to medium at all LMUs. Low C-organic content and very low P and K content are the main limiting factors for SFS. Recommended land management to improve soil fertility is the addition of organic matter that can increase total nitrogen and C-organic in the soil and the application of manure. Keywords: Soil fertility status, paddy fields, rice plants
