Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease that is progressive and has a serious impact on the body's metabolic system. The PLISSIT model stands for four levels of intervention, namely Permission, Limited Information, Specific Suggestions, and Intensive Therapy. This study aims to determine the effect of sexual education with the PLISSIT method in reducing sexual function disorders in type 2 DM patients at the Limboto Health Center. The research method is using a quasi-experimental approach. The design used is a one group pretest-posttest design. The sample was taken using a non-probability sampling technique with a purposive sampling technique from a total population of 398 respondents to 44 respondents. The research instrument using Sexual Education with the PLISSIT Method was carried out according to SOP procedures and used IIEF and FSFI Questionnaires to measure the level of sexual disorders in men and women. The results showed that there was a statistically significant difference between the Pre FSFI and Post FSFI scores with a Z value of -5.061 and a significance value (p-value) of 0.000. Because the p value < 0.05, the Pre IIEF and Post IIEF p values are .000, where p < ? (0.05) is obtained, so it is concluded that H1 is accepted, meaning that there is an Effect of Sexual Education with the PLISSIT Method on Sexual Function Disorders in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients at Limboto Health Center. This research is expected to integrate sexual education of the PLISSIT method in the routine services of type 2 DM patients, especially in health education sessions and chronic disease clinics.

Abstract

Abstract

Hypertension is one of the non-communicable diseases that is a global health problem because it can cause serious complications such as heart disease, stroke, and kidney failure. One of the factors that affect the increase in blood pressure is physical activity. Lack of physical activity can increase the risk of hypertension to a higher degree, especially in the elderly group. This study aims to determine the relationship between physical activity and the degree of hypertension in the elderly in the working area of the Limboto Health Center, Gorontalo Regency. The type of research used is quantitative with a correlational analytical design through a cross sectional approach. The study population was all Prolanis hypertension patients in the working area of the Limboto Health Center, with a sample of 75 respondents selected using the purposive sampling technique. The research instruments were in the form of physical activity questionnaires and blood pressure observation sheets. Data analysis was carried out using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that most of the respondents had poor physical activity as many as 44 respondents (58.7%) and the majority were in the category of degree 2 hypertension as many as 36 respondents (48.0%). The results of the statistical test showed a p-value of < 0.05, which means that there is a significant relationship between physical activity and the degree of hypertension. It was concluded that physical activity is related to the degree of hypertension in the elderly. People with hypertension are advised to increase physical activity regularly to help control blood pressure and prevent further complications.

Abstract

Introduction: The Indonesian Nurse Competency Examination (INCE) remains a critical requirement for nursing graduates; however, fluctuating pass rates indicate persistent gaps in student preparedness. Innovative, scalable strategies are needed to enhance learning outcomes. Peer education, grounded in social learning theory, offers a potentially effective approach to improving knowledge and exam readiness. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of peer education on student knowledge in preparation for the INCE.Methods: A pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was conducted over 10 days involving 53 nursing professional students selected through total sampling. Knowledge was measured using a structured try-out instrument aligned with INCE competency domains. Paired t-tests were used to assess differences in pre- and post-intervention scores. Results: At baseline, only 41.1% (n = 23) of students achieved the passing threshold, while 58.9% (n = 33) did not meet the standard. Following the intervention, the proportion of students who passed increased substantially to 91.9% (n = 51), with only 8.9% (n = 5) remaining below the threshold, representing an absolute increase of 50.8 percentage points. Mean knowledge scores improved significantly from 46.16 ± 6.41 at baseline to 52.41 ± 5.48 post-intervention, with a mean difference of 6.25 points (p < 0.001). This finding indicates not only statistical significance but also a meaningful educational impact. Conclusion: Peer education is an effective, low-cost, and scalable strategy for enhancing student knowledge in INCE preparation. Its integration into structured mentoring programs may strengthen competency-based education and contribute to improving national examination outcomes.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

HIV is still a major health problem, due to its increasing prevalence. To prevent it, many things can be done, one of which is the use of condoms. However, often the use of condoms is something that is often neglected so condoms are often inconsistent. The results of the study show that there is a significant relationship between marital status and the consistency of condom use. Married respondents tend to consistently use condoms. This is because married couples with status as PLWHA will pay more attention to safety in intercourse. After all, they realize that having intercourse without using a condom will worsen the partner's health condition. the significant relationship between marital status and consistency condoms
