Abstract

The advancements of knowledge and technology in the fourth industrial revolution have influenced learning settings at school. Teachers have to develop new learning methods, models, and media to help improve their students' learning outcomes.  The technology that is becoming popular among students is Android-based media. Students at school are diverse and so are students at special education schools(SLB). Students with hearing impairment are those who suffer from hard of hearing and hearing loss. Teachers must get their students to make the most of their residual hearing and other senses like touch and sight when learning, especially during difficult subjects. One of the subjects that the students consider the hardest is religious education because it has a lot of practice and memorization. Hijaiyah is 30 letters of the Arabic alphabet and learning them becomes the core competency in reading the Quran. Teachers can use sign language as their teaching strategy. Sign language is a non-verbal language used by hearing-impaired people. However, sign language is still not commonly used among teachers at special education schools. This research used Research and Development model. The data were collected through observations, interviews, documentation, and literature study. The data analysis was conducted using data reduction, data presentation, and data interpretation. The product of the research is an Android application for learning hijaiyah letters through sign language for students with hearing impairment.

Abstract

Tiga kondisi membentuk desain A-B-A : Baseline (A), Intervensi (B), dan Baseline (A2). AbstractBased on observations that have been carried out at SLBN 1 Solok, the author found a lightly disabled child in class X of SMALB who could not do simple beautiful makeup. Children with mild intellectual disabilities often experience obstacles in the development of cognitive, social, and motor skills that can affect their independence in daily life. Therefore, a more specific and structured approach is needed in developing the potential of these children, one of which is through the teaching of vocational skills. Vocational skills are practical skills that are taught to increase individual independence and productivity in carrying out certain tasks related to work. This study discusses Simple Beautiful Makeup Vocational Skills Using Modeling Techniques in Children with Mild Disabilities. This study uses an A-B-A design and a single-subject research methodology. Three conditions make up the A-B-A design: Baseline (A), Intervention (B), and Baseline (A2). Data collection is carried out by observation, interviews and deeds tests through the checklist method. The data from the research results were analyzed using graphical visual analysis techniques. Based on the results of the study, it was found that Simple Beautiful Makeup Skills increased after being given intervention or treatment in the form of Modeling Techniques. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out at SLBN 1 Solok, the results of the research conducted at each meeting and described in the data analysis, children's skills have increased significantly at the time of intervention and after the intervention has been given. Abstract

This research aims to investigate the effectiveness of colored sticks in improving lateral addition skills, with sums ranging from more than 10 to 20, among sixth-grade deaf students at SLB Hikmah Reformasi Padang. The research employs an SSR approach with an A-B-A design. It consists of 13 sessions divided into three phases. The first phase, baseline (A1), spans 3 meetings, showing stable results with a score of 20. The second phase, intervention (B), lasts for 7 meetings, indicating improvement with scores increasing from 30 to 75 and demonstrating stability from the 9th to the 10th meeting. The final phase, another baseline (A2), takes place over 3 meetings, showing stable results with a score of 90 in the 12th and 13th meetings. These findings indicate an enhancement in addition skills, with results up to 20, using colored sticks among deaf children.

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to improve the ability to write currency values in mildly mentally retarded children at SLB N 1 Lubuk Sikaping by using wordwall quizzes learning media, namely website-based quizzes that enable the creation of interactive learning. With this media, teachers can create various types of learning such as quizzes, pair matching, random word games, word searches, and grouping. This research uses an experimental method with a single subject research (SSR) approach and an A-B-A design, involving three conditions: baseline (A1), intervention (B), and baseline (A2). Data was collected through observations and tests which were analyzed based on two categories, namely analysis within conditions and visual analysis between conditions. During 16 meetings, the research results showed that in the baseline condition (A1) which consisted of 4 meetings, the percentage of child stability was only 14%. However, in the intervention condition (B) which consisted of 8 meetings, stability was achieved at the 9th to 12th meeting with a percentage reaching 100%. In the baseline condition (A2), which also consists of 4 meetings, the stable percentage remains 100%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the use of wordwall quiz media is effective in improving the ability to write currency values in mildly mentally retarded children
