Abstract

The implementation of EE in Indonesia faces various obstacles, including limited resources, lack of institutional support, and low teacher readiness. This study aims to design a sustainable environmental education model by analyzing the needs of teachers in Indonesia through a Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) approach. This study used the Rapid Appraisal for Sustainability (Rapfish) method with Multi-Dimensional Scaling (MDS) analysis. Data were collected through a questionnaire distributed to 20 randomly selected primary school teachers from various regions in Indonesia. The results of the analysis show that teachers see the potential of EE to improve students' awareness and behavior towards environmental issues, but they face various challenges, such as limited time allocation in the curriculum to deliver EE materials, as well as lack of support from schools and parents. The existing curriculum is considered to still need development, especially through practical activities outside the classroom to increase student engagement. The findings emphasize the importance of government and organizational support through the provision of resources, professional training and curriculum development that includes practical project-based activities. The implications of this research are expected to guide the design of a more effective EE curriculum for primary schools, in line with global sustainable development goals. In conclusion, sustainable environmental education in Indonesia requires more targeted and appropriate curriculum design and teacher training. The implications of this research encourage policy makers to formulate policies that strengthen the integration of environmental education in the national education system.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas Buku Panduan STEAM Magnet Car dalam meningkatkan self-efficacy siswa sekolah dasar. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah one group pretest-posttest dengan subjek sebanyak 35 siswa kelas V di salah satu SD di Pekanbaru. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket self-efficacy yang diberikan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan adanya peningkatan skor rata-rata dari 29,29 (pretest) menjadi 31,09 (posttest). Uji Paired Sample T-Test menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,005 (p < 0,05), yang menandakan peningkatan signifikan secara statistik. Uji N-Gain menghasilkan skor rata-rata 0,106 yang berada pada kategori rendah. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan buku panduan STEAM Magnet Car memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap peningkatan self-efficacy siswa dalam pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Temuan ini merekomendasikan integrasi buku panduan serupa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran STEAM guna mendorong motivasi, kreativitas, dan kepercayaan diri siswa sejak dini.

Abstract

Household waste management in Pekanbaru, particularly plastic waste, remains a critical challenge with environmental and economic implications. This community service program aimed to empower housewives through eco-entrepreneurship training based on the 3R principles (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). The program adopted a Participatory Action Research approach, integrating educational, persuasive, and participatory methods. The results revealed significant improvements in recycling behavior and the production of five types of marketable decorative products, including recycled mirrors and wooden racks. In addition to fostering environmental awareness, the program also created new household-level economic opportunities. These findings demonstrate that empowering communities through environmentally-based entrepreneurship can support behavior change and contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 5 and SDG 12.

Abstract

This study examined the measurement and calibration of learning independence among PGSD students in digital learning using the Rasch Model. Motivated by the need for validated tools that capture readiness for autonomous learning in higher education, a survey of 40 students from the 2023 and 2024 cohorts employed a Learning Independence Test. Rasch analysis estimated item difficulty and person ability and assessed reliability and model fit. Most items showed acceptable fit and internal consistency. Item and person distributions indicated generally moderate to high independence, with meaningful individual variation. These findings suggest the instrument functions adequately and can yield actionable diagnostics for curriculum design and targeted supports that strengthen autonomy in digital environments. Psychometrically sound measurement is therefore valuable for understanding learner characteristics and informing teacher preparation, since prospective teachers must foster independence in their future pupils. The small sample limits generalization. Future research should use larger and more diverse samples and adopt longitudinal designs to track changes in learning independence over time.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in improving digital literacy and critical thinking skills among students in the era of Society 5.0. The presence of AI integrated with digital technology brings both opportunities and challenges in the learning process. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method involving 30 students selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale, covering two main indicators, namely digital literacy and critical thinking skills. The data were analyzed descriptively through percentages, frequencies, and mean values. The results showed that the highest aspect of digital literacy was in the ethics of communication in the digital space (21.45%), while the lowest aspect was in active participation in the digital space (18.92%). In the critical thinking indicator, the highest achievement was in the ability to make estimates and integrate (20.89%), while the lowest was in the ability to draw conclusions (19.55%). These findings confirm that the use of AI contributes significantly to improving students' technical, ethical, and analytical skills. However, strengthening digital literacy and the wise use of AI is necessary so that students do not merely become passive consumers but active, critical, and creative producers of knowledge. Thus, AI can become an important catalyst in building an innovative, ethical learning ecosystem. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media sosial terhadap perilaku mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar (PGSD). Latar belakang penelitian ini didasari oleh meningkatnya intensitas penggunaan media sosial di kalangan mahasiswa yang berdampak pada aspek positif maupun negatif, baik dalam kegiatan akademik maupun kehidupan sosial. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan teknik survei. Instrumen penelitian berupa kuesioner skala Likert yang terdiri dari 20 pernyataan dan disebarkan kepada 28 mahasiswa PGSD sebagai responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mayoritas mahasiswa memanfaatkan media sosial untuk mendukung aktivitas akademik, seperti mencari informasi perkuliahan (85,7%), memahami materi (75%), berdiskusi (64,3%), hingga mencari ide kreatif untuk media pembelajaran (89,3%). Di sisi lain, penggunaan media sosial juga berdampak negatif seperti kecenderungan menunda tugas (57,1%), merasa cemas jika tidak membuka media sosial (46,4%), serta terganggunya pola tidur (39,3%). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media sosial memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap perilaku mahasiswa PGSD baik secara positif maupun negatif. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan strategi pengelolaan penggunaan media sosial secara bijak agar memberikan manfaat optimal dalam mendukung pengembangan kompetensi mahasiswa sebagai calon pendidik.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the perceptions of PGSD FKIP students at Riau University regarding their readiness to face the world of work as educators. The background of the research is based on the importance of mastering the four teacher competencies, namely pedagogic, professional, personality, and social, as stated in Law Number 14 of 2005 concerning Teachers and Lecturers. The research used a descriptive quantitative approach with a survey method. The research instrument was a Likert scale questionnaire consisting of 20 statement items. The research subjects were PGSD students of FKIP Riau University, with a total of 35 respondents. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques through the calculation of frequency, percentage, average, and total score, then categorized based on certain assessment criteria. The results showed that student readiness was generally in the good category, with highest achievement in the personality aspect (87.1%, very good category), while the pedagogical (73.24%), professional (75.85%), and social (78.2%) aspects were in the good category. These findings indicate that student teachers have positive attitudes and characters to become professional educators, but it’s still necessary to strengthen the mastery of pedagogical and practical skills to be more optimal in facing the world of work.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kontribusi media pembelajaran berbasis digital Quizizz dalam meningkatkan minat belajar mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar (PGSD) Universitas Riau. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei. Sampel penelitian ditentukan dengan teknik purposive sampling terhadap mahasiswa yang pernah menggunakan Quizizz dalam perkuliahan, dengan jumlah minimal 30 responden. Instrumen penelitian berupa angket skala Likert sebanyak 20 butir pernyataan yang disebarkan melalui Google Form. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif kuantitatif dengan menghitung rata-rata skor, persentase, dan kategori. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar indikator berada pada kategori tinggi dan sangat tinggi, khususnya pada item positif seperti ketertarikan, kesenangan, serta tantangan dalam memperoleh skor yang lebih baik. Skor tertinggi ditunjukkan pada item “Saya merasa tertantang untuk memperoleh skor yang lebih baik di Quizizz” dengan persentase 93,40% (sangat tinggi). Sementara itu, skor rendah justru muncul pada pernyataan negatif karena mayoritas responden tidak setuju, sehingga memperkuat bahwa Quizizz dianggap bermanfaat. Secara keseluruhan, tingkat minat belajar mahasiswa berada pada kategori Tinggi dengan skor total 69,20%. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penggunaan Quizizz mampu menghadirkan suasana pembelajaran yang interaktif, menyenangkan, dan menantang, sehingga dapat meningkatkan motivasi, keterlibatan aktif, dan minat belajar mahasiswa. Quizizz direkomendasikan sebagai media pembelajaran inovatif dan efektif di perguruan tinggi, meskipun penelitian lebih lanjut dengan jumlah sampel yang lebih luas dan metode tambahan masih diperlukan untuk memperkaya temuan.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has influenced students’ academic activities, including the use of digital music applications such as Spotify, which is believed to create a more comfortable learning atmosphere. This study aims to explore students’ perceptions of Spotify as a medium for relaxation as well as a support for productivity. A descriptive qualitative method was employed with 10 student respondents from Universitas Riau selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using an essay questionnaire consisting of 10 open-ended questions and analyzed thematically. The findings reveal that Spotify helps improve concentration, enhance mood, reduce boredom, and relieve stress. It is also perceived to support learning efficiency through curated playlists, instrumental music, and personalized features. However, several challenges were identified, including advertisements on non-premium accounts, distractions from lyrical songs, music dependency, and unstable internet connections. These findings highlight Spotify’s significant role in fostering students’ comfort and motivation in learning, although its effectiveness remains dependent on task type and individual preferences.

Abstract

This study examines the role of statistics in enhancing the quality of educational research. Statistics serve as a scientific foundation that not only provide analytical tools but also reinforce the validity, reliability, and objectivity of research outcomes. Using a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature review, the study reviews scholarly works highlighting how statistics support various research stages, including sampling, instrument development, data processing, and analysis. Findings show that applying statistics allows educational research to be more evidence-based, measurable, and accountable. However, challenges remain, both in Indonesia and globally, such as limited data quality, institutional coordination, human resource capacity, and adaptation to digital technologies. To address these issues, strengthening statistical literacy and regulations is essential so that statistical data remain relevant and support evidence-based education policies.
